On entry to the pub we had a lovely welcome from very friendly staff. The pub wasn’t busy on a lovely sunny day.
Ordered a couple of drinks and food. A little wait for the food which duly arrived.
We had scampi and the steak, mushroom and ale pie.
The scampi and chips were volcanic, but not unpleasant. They were served with mushy peas, not something I wanted or ate, I would have preferred ordinary pease.
The Steak, mushroom and ale pie was served in what can only be described as a deconstructed state. It almost looked as if it was thrown on the plate (hopefully not past it and on the floor!) this was woefully over cooked and to be frank the meat was burnt. We did raise this with the staff member who just said ‘I’ll mention it to chef’
We paid and left but would not recommend this place for food, okay for a pint but that’s all

Lovely venue with pleasant staff.
Kids menu was fine and children enjoyed their meals. Young children could easily share a portion as meals were adult sized.
The seafood linguine was very unusual as there were so many tentacles. As someone who loves seafood linguine this isn’t anything like what I’ve come to expect … it was very bizarre and with what could only be described as a kraken hidden under the linguine!! Perhaps a popular local favourite but I simply couldn’t stomach it and the amount of dark tentacles peeping through the linguine was most off putting.
Others enjoyed their food and I cannot fault the staff or environment. Meals were fairly priced too.

We popped in on a Sunday tea time hoping that they were serving food (still early season and other pubs didn’t have their kitchens open) and we managed to get two of the last roast dinners available.
The food was delicious, the staff were all friendly and the pub is nicely decorated and clean.
Really glad we found the Kings Head

Last night four of us had the worst meal I personally have ever experienced in any pub or restaurant. It wasn't busy with diners but the service was slow and when the meal came it was small dry overcooked and tasteless. We had a bottle of £6 supermarket wine and charged £26. These comments are in no way over exaggerated, I shall never darken their door again.

The food is great, good portions if you’re hungry and the staff are polite. There are vegan and gluten free food available. The chef tries his hardest to feed you properly and it’s dog friendly too, with good decorations and not too loud music. There is a pool table and good to go with friends and it’s clean and spacious. It’s a great bar/restaurant.

My wife and I went to the Kings Head , a couple of months ago and it was OK
We returned last week for a Sunday Lunch
Staff nice and helpful.
But if anyone reads my posts I hope they will see I give an honest report.
We ate at 2 pm.
My wife had the roast
We may be wrong, but it seemed that it had been cooked , for the possibility of people wishing to eat at 1 pm.
It was over cooked , kept warm food, although most Pubs do this .
I wonder why people accept this?
I ordered Ham and Eggs .
There was nothing to return it, but it was not good
21 chips, two small eggs , three slices of cheap ham, and a spoon full of peas £11
Lets be honest here, for a tiny bit of effort, the cook could have put on a bit of garnish, made it look value for money.
But it looked like something you would get in a cafe for £5
As I stated ,I got what I ordered.
Will eat at there again. NO
Would I recommend anyone to eat at there , honestly I couldn't.

Nice pub for drinks and basics like chips, but overpriced specials which were not very special and other food was also bland.
Looked very busy today so May have been something to do with the poor quality? Teriyaki aubergine had no flavour, asked for more teriyaki or soya sauce but they said they had none! Maybe why it was lacking in flavour! £15 for this felt like a complete rip off. Even fish finger sandwich was bland.

We're so sorry that you didn't enjoy your food on your visit, we had great feedback about the Teriyaki aubergine and I'm confused as to why we weren't able to provide you with more of the sauces - we have them both in our kitchen. I do remember you saying that you thought that it was "too salty" and added that you thought that as it had soy sauce in it, it was more salty by nature? It's a shame that you didn't enjoy our fish finger sandwich too, it's one of our most popular dishes? Either way it would be great to see you back soon so that we can renew your thoughts on our food?

The pub has a quaint atmosphere with lots of different sized tables to choose from.
We arrived about 2pm for lunch and were amazing with the vast options available.
We went for the cheese burger and the prosciutto pizza, both arrived piping hot and the pizza looked like it had been cooked on a pizza oven… it tasted amazing.
Would highly recommend if you are visiting Yarmouth and don’t know where to eat.

The pub was great, once again quick service. There is one bartender called Brandon who is a lovely man, very polite and willing to have a conversation-and he is also my favourite. There’s a pool table in there, it’s fun and popular to play. it’s also great for family and friends and dog friendly, the staff are willing to pet the dogs and the drinks are good and well priced.

The food was very tasty and I especially wanted to go because they had chicken, bacon and leek pie on the menu which not many places sell. At first I thought the portion sizes were too small, but actually that was all I could manage anyway. We also had a chocolate brownie to finish which was delicious. All desserts £7 which I think is a bit pricey, however we had a voucher which reduced the price quite a bit. I loved the inside of the place; there were different styles of tables and chairs to choose from. We visited on a Wednesday lunchtime and it was nice and quiet.

Looking at the other reviews maybe we were unlucky but I have eaten dinner here this evening and have been appalled by the service and pretty disgusted at the cleanliness.
It was one of the Eat Out to Help Out evenings and I understand that this means they may have been a bit busier, although given that they have a reduced number of tables, surely they should be less stretched than when working at full capacity??
Anyway, after booking a table for 8pm we were asked to wait in the outside seating area while they got the table ready. Not a problem but no suggestion as to how long this may take or offer to get drinks while we were waiting and finally, after over half an hour, we were sent to our table.
Still no offer to take our drinks order or show us the menu and after 10 minutes I had to go and get my own from the bar.
After some time, there was still no one coming to the table and this was about an hour after our original booking! (I would've walked out by now but where else was I going to feed my 3 kids at 9pm?)
Finally, we ordered drinks and waited. And waited. The person who took the order had to be reminded that our drinks had been sat on the bar.
Having finally got our drinks, which weren't what we wanted but we'd fallen into submission by this point, I had to ask if we could order food (No 'Are you ready to order?' was going to happen)!
The food came and looked okay until I noticed a delicious looking fly baked into the top of my veg lasagne. They took it away under the pretence that they were getting me a new one but I'm pretty sure it was the same one minus the fly that came back.
Admittedly, the food all tasted okay but I really don't know how they can justify the premium prices with the level of service and the fruit fly swarms around the bar area. Yes, flies drop into food but no, 'We will take this off the bill for you' as way of an apology.
It's a good job that it was the Eat Out to Help Out or I wouldn't have been happy paying for this meal at all and I still feel a bit begrudged, paying what I did.

Amazing little place! So friendly and welcoming. We were politely told the kitchen was closed but could have a table for drinks. The lady then checked what food we were wanting and very quickly sorted our order even chatting to our son and listening to his bizarre requests! Lovely food and drinks too! Thank you! Made the end of our holiday!

I’ve been seafaring for a good many years, dropping into ports and small towns across this great nation, and decided to try somewhere new called the Isle of Wight. Quite an exotic little island, I found myself in the seaside town of Yarmouth where I happened to stumble into the Kings Head. Upon walking into this fine establishment I was welcomed with what I could almost literally describe as open arms and was made to feel straight at home with the jovial and quite witty bar man. Anyway, I digress. As the day went on I decided this place looked like it could cook up a seriously good meal and I wasn’t wrong. I ordered the mushroom wellington and frankly, it was borderline a miracle of a meal. Possibly the best Wellington this side of the Brazilian football scene. I was aghast, shocked frankly at how good it was. Literally, this one meal, this one pub, just everything has almost coaxed me to pack up shop and settle down on this scenic little island. What a pub! 12/10. Top service.

Could have been so good if it wasn’t for a very poorly trained chef(if trained at all)
Firstly one of our group of 6 order GF burger as stated on memo, when most of our food arrived this was certainly not gluten free and had to be sent back and re cooked from scratch, delay number one. My husband order a pasta dish with garlic bread, this arrived 20 minutes after everyone else’s had arrived so we had almost finished by the time he got his and the burger returned with correct bun, a further 20 mins and the garlic bread arrive. The waitress was very apologetic but these errors are very much down to the chef. If it wasn’t for the great company of the friends I was with this would have made this a a very disappointing evening. Including drinks we spent almost £130, for that price I expect our food to be correct and on time. The other orders were acceptable but at £13 for fish and chips I would have expected more that 10 chip, even some of them were too small to pick up with your folk.
This pub has had a face lift and looks great....truly disappointed with the chef and food.
