As always, we were well looked after by Jan, Gary and the rest of the staff, greeted with big smiles and cheery hellos. We were asked if we want our usual table, or the garden. We code the garden for our Jireh House Afternoon Tea. It is our guilty pleasure when visiting. The food as always was delicious and made with care, we chose the slice of cake we wanted and then had the warm scones and jam, enough tea to sink a battleship. We left there barely able to move. We’ve eaten evening meals there too and can’t make a single complaint about anything, highly recommend.

We had a lovely unhurried lunch in the garden. Fish cakes, chips and salad all freshly prepared, followed by lemon drizzle cake and bakewell with icecream. Yum! The staff are attentive and friendly and this visit was a real highlight of our day in Yarmouth.

Stopped here for a mid-afternoon tea break . Great place with friendly attentive staff .
I had a “cream tea” , the tea was served in a China pot , with enough milk in a jug for more than two cups .
The scone had a really good slightly spiced taste to it . The jam was fruity
Well recommended

2 cappuccinos, pot of tea and 3 slices of cake ÂŁ22.50
That’s £7.50 for a cup of tea/coffee and slice of cake each.
Was flabbergasted at the bill.
Not rushing back to Yarmouth quickly. Flask and a packet of biscuits next time.

We decided to try these tea rooms as looked traditional. The tea rooms were busy and we were just about to leave when a waitress told us we could go in the conservatory. When entering the two tables had reserved on them but we were assured that was because they don’t use them unless busy. The waitress took our order of 2 cream teas. (A scone jam cream and a pot of tea). The scone was very small and had cinnamon in which didn’t go with the jam and cream. 3 ladies came on the next table and the waitress got their order wrong twice. We decided to leave as it seemed chaotic. I approached the till and the 2 waitresses were trying to sort something out and ignored me. No apology and when asked for payment the waitress asked more than the menu price but when I mentioned this corrected it. Didn’t enjoy our visit at all. We didn’t consider value for money and would not recommend.

After consultation from TA I thought I'd try my luck at a family walk in. We were greeted with a smile from a nice gentleman who allowed us to choose our table (we chose the lovely conservatory as it was a sunny day).
They took our order and the food was brought out swiftly. The kids sausage and chips was very generous and they met our request of additional peas (for the veg tick in the box to appease our parental guilt).
The homemade fish cakes were lovely and they gave us 50% extra free due to "their error" - gratefully appreciated.
I had the plaice which I wasnt sure if it would be frozen and breaded. Nope it was lovely fresh fish cooked to perfection. What a pleasant surprise.
In summary, try this place for lunch, cake or even just a coffee (which was also excellent) and you wont be disappointed.

Really lovely lunch experience.. and what set you apart was listening to my mums food issues. After having a biopsy following mouth cancer the plaice you served was the most enjoyable meal of our island visit & thank you for listening and offering her mash to accompany it.
We sat in your lovely hidden terrace and enjoyed a peaceful lunch before our ferry crossing. All dishes the 3 of us choose were wonderful (sea-bass & fish cakes) being the other two.
You are running a great business .. hopefully you receive a busy & lucrative season ahead..
we will recommend and will be back
Thanks

Still excellent after many years, quality & service still spot on. Run by the owner & very excellent friendly staff.
Have been visiting Jireh for many years and the food, service & atmosphere is still as good as it has always been. The new conservatory is a great place to dine. Proper home cooking, which is rarely available these days, not open every evening, so book to avoid disappointment.

We were greeted by a cheerful chap, somewhat unconventionally dressed and chose a table in the delightful little conservatory. A pleasant waitress took our order. My husband's toasted crab sandwich was good but mine - not toasted - was very disappointing because there was such a meagre amount of crab in it. On the table next to us two ladies were enjoying very generously filled smoked salmon sandwiches. If only I'd chosen the same ...

We poved this place. Its quaint and friendly.
I am so fed up with pre ordered rubbish that is not made on site and yet presented as if it was and often stale as a result. Its so hard to gind genuinely home made food now.
This was home made. The owners are kind and passionate. The chef came out to make sure we had the food we wanted and the worked around my fussyness. Perfect amount of food. And the scones were fresh and warm. The cake was amazing!
Tea topped up and hot.
Definitlly going again! Thank you!

I had high hopes for this place, but sadly it was awful. I would have given it ZERO stars but am unable. The staff were not very friendly especially after asking for Vegan options. Bad idea, told "Chips". In the end decided for simple Jacket Potato and Beans (told them Lactose Intolerance) but the potato clearly had had butter scraped off it before being served. The potato and whole meal was small enough to sit on a tea plate. Had to sit outside, where a table was right next to a drain. Very unpleasant experience, To be fair we were able to have Soya milk in our tea but no mention of whether we wanted sugar or not. The staff seemed tired and irritable. I wont even talk about the foul toilet facility (no window nor airfreshener, just the ambience to get you in the mood for food). When I was told my bill was ÂŁ18.20 I nearly fell over. My partner had severe stomach cramps the following day which I am putting down to the butter in the jacket potato. Even if I wasnt a vegan I would not return. A smile costs nothing and the staff need to remember that. You would be better off having a bag of chips on the beach. Shame but you learn everyday.

A very wet day, we called in, beautiful decor and furnishings. The lady was very pleasant and chatty. We ordered sandwich and cake. All were exceptional.
Then other customers came in and we all had a chat which was very refreshing, none of the heads down lets pretend others do not exist.
Could not be better

We stayed here for two nights. We were allowed in early and my hubby stored his bike around the back (which was no problem to the owners). The room was well ventilated and clean. We have to say that Jan and Gary made the most fantastic breakfasts, which were served in the conservatory with fresh air coming in from the courtyard. We also stayed for dinner one of the nights and we have to say it was one of the best meals we have ever had - very fresh and cooked there and then. They also joined us for a few drinks afterwards and we ended up having a great time and went to bed late. We could not fault it and would recommend to all. We hope to be back again next year. Many thanks.
