The Boathouse is a small , family run beachside cafe. We have been visiting the Boathouse for several years, initially as holidaymakers and now as local residents. Whether calling in for coffee and cake or a freshly prepared meal we are always made to feel welcome and our dogs offered complimentary treats ! In our opinion the Boathouse offers great value for money considering the standards of the meals , drinks and the great beachside location.

Everything and everyone was amazing we went on Saturday and we couldn’t have had a better time! The waitresses were lovely and so skilled as some of the looked very young! We all had breakfasts and stayed until 2pm as the view and atmosphere was so lovely and then we all had the ice creams and I couldn’t have loved them more! I had toffee crunch and personally I loved it there was the perfect amount (there very generous with scoops) and the cafe was definitely not over priced! The food was superb and free parking!!! But I do have to say the waitresses made our experience! One of the girls seemed very young ( age 16 I guess ) which created the lovely family atmosphere and although she seemed young I could not credit her enough she was working so hard! Also the lady who made our coffee was so funny and makes a wonderful flat white and iced latte! The drinks are so hot which I love! I’m definitely coming back and the dog loves his free sausage too. We will be back for lunch, ice creams and coffee tomorrow!

This spot is amazing for everything, we loved the staff! Today it was so busy and considering there was only around 4 staff members there the business ran so successfully. The girl taking orders was superb the lady making coffees was amazing too! After speaking to both of them we realised how welcoming the place was and the 2 people in the kitchen made the food super well and their selection was fantastic we only found this place today but it was incredible

Awful experience. Ice cream being advertised as New Forest but we were served a much cheaper and quite frankly nasty ice cream (strawberry and chocolate). To add insult to injury some of our ice creams were half the size of others. Staff were incredibly rude, won’t be bothering again

Visited with another couple on a sunny late afternoon. There were no bar prices on display,I and a mate both had a good hunt around but found no prices....be warned. We took a punt and ordered a couple of local beers and small house wines. We needed a second mortgage to pay and couldn't believe what we'd just been told.It was a cafe after all. So queried the prices because they aren't visible anywhere. That's correct we got, ÂŁ 13 for two local weak beers, in a rustic cafe and without any table service. It had to be wrong, ÂŁ12 for two small house wines served in warm glasses. Drew the line at that & asked for chilled glasses. We got a lot of huffing and puffing, rolling of eyes and loud sigh. Unpleasant service and unfriendly. We went outside with the drinks and sat on a wonky worn out old table. It was obvious very quickly that locals received a very different level of service etc than that of us tourists. It was a rip off but one that we definitely won't repeat. Bring your own chairs / drinks / snacks and save yourself a fortune. The view is free for anyone & everyone to enjoy!

We found this superb little place on the way to Fort Victoria and it was brilliant. Parking a little limited but the food was all freshly prepared and as the weather was sunny you could sit on the beach, in the garden or inside. View of the Solent was fabulous and when ordering they asked if our dog would like a sausage as well (stupid question!). Fresh toasties, jackets and sandwiches as well as a full English and daily specials including seafood. Weather, location, food and service could not have been better. Will come again.

This place is a real gem. Super location with great western Solent views, very warm welcome, flexibility on eg sandwich filling & very reasonable pricing. What's not to like! Adjacent parking & a very short walk to the Fort Victoria attractions. Several obviously regular locals there when we called. Dogs welcome.

I wouldn’t call this a pub. It’s a cafe with a bar. Food is panini or jackets or toasties. Four of us with hit drinks about £10 a head. Friendly staff great location to eat outside on the beach in the summer or the conservatory when it’s a bit chilly or the log fire lounge in the winter. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely fabulous place to visit for meal, for coffee and cake or just to meet the lovely people for a chat. They have a very varied menu from wonderful breakfasts, main meals, yummy desserts, sarnies, jackets and much more. Licensed. Food all fresh. The two girls work so hard ING with their family. Situated right on beach between yarmouth and Fort Victoria. Stunning situation. Very very dog friendly inside and out. Lovely light fire this time of year. Very prompt efficient service. Sunday roasts delicious. Really recommend

Another lovely visit to the Boathouse. We sat in the garden and a very helpful mature gentleman who works there helped us by moving a table in the garden into the shade for us and our dogs. We had been earlier this summer and had a lovely time there sitting in their garden overlooking the sea, nice people, nice place and a real find.

Ordered 2 salads and a pot of tea for 2. Took the tea to our table and waited an hour for our food. We asked for our money back because we hadn't been served which we got but were still charged ÂŁ6 for the 2 cups of tea which was all the teapot held. The place was busy but most of the time it was selling ice creams. We had been recommended this place but we will never go again as we then had to find somewhere else .

We came here as it offered more selection than some of the competition closer to the parking area. Prices were reasonable, and although the menu was simple the food was actually very nice. There was plenty of outdoor space to eat, and the staff were meticulous on their approach to social distancing, PPE, and in the general set up when ordering. Above all, I found the staff so friendly, and they really went over and above on their customer service.

We have been here many times when visiting the Isle of Wight , the owners are always friendly , they produce good and well cooked food, never disappointed. They’ve certainly got it right, food, prices and atmosphere. What a fabulous location. Well done.

Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely location and a great place to eat following a walk through the woods along the coastal path. A particular favourite of our terrier after he was given his own sausage chopped up in a little bowl. Having found this great little place we will definitely be back.
