We'd come to Yarmouth as part of a coach tour and despite being a Sunday most of this small town was open. We found this location for lunch and drinks. The food and drink prices were expensive compared to other locations around the island, the food portions were small in comparison as well.

We found Gossips because we found on arrival that our ferry was cancelled, so had to wait in Yarmouth for the next one, we went looking for a coffee, and found Gossips. As we were going to be later getting home we decided to buy baguettes to take with us, and they were made to order and they had a huge selection of fillings, we went for tuna and salad and they weren’t small they were filled to the gills with salad and tuna and the price was a bargain, we paid about £3 more for one in Shanklin and not so full. I would certainly recommend this place. It was very busy in there but orders were pretty quick coming out, I’m glad we had to wait for the next ferry as we wouldn’t have discovered this great little eating place

Great location - food was pretty good aswell but you really need to sort out some of your staff.
Requested ‘no beans’ on a breakfast, swap for a tomatoe (surely not beyond the realms of man) - charged £1:40 for the privilege.
When queried politely, moody teen responds ‘don’t do swaps, and walks off’
Find your own cutlery
Find your own sauces
Go back to ask for jam
Not the best.

Popped in for something to eat whilst waiting for the ferry. We arrived at 11.25 and wanted a toasted panini only to be told they switched their menu over from breakfast to lunch 5 mins later at 11.30. We said ok cool can we pay for a toastie and you prep it after the 11.30 changeover. No we were told! We can only order breakfast items. We said we were happy to wait but no! So we had an awful bacon sandwich which was fatty and very dried out! So we ate and left. British customer service at its best! Won’t be returning

We, my wife and I have been returning patrons to Gossip over the past five years. In the past we have been totally satisfied with all elements of this cafe.
However, on our last visit we were very disappointed with the quality of food. My wife had a brie and cranberry panini. It was served up with such a small amount of brie that a magnifying glass would have been needed to see any. It was returned to the kitchen. Within a couple of minutes the same panini was placed in front of my wife with a slab of cold brie in it.
I had a basic sandwich on white bread. Usually the bread is fresh and tasty. However the offering on the plate was anything but fresh.
We will use Gossip again but if their standards have not vastly improved we will be finding a replacement eating venue.

We live in the island and we had a lovely walk from freshwater to Yarmouth via the cycle track
Stopped off at Gossips for some lunch, they were extremely busy so patiently waited to be served, it was full inside but we had a table in the shade outside when it came for me to be served the young girl behind the counter was calm and polite she took my order then a lady came in asked for some ice as her young daughter had been stung by a wasp, the young girl put ice cubes in a tea towel and give it to her and then apologised for keeping me waiting, it was not a problem at all, the lady doing hot drinks behind was also lovely. Within minutes of sitting down outside our chicken mayo and bacon baguettes came out they were so fresh and lovely.
Thank you for making our day even better 😊

I've been visiting Gossips for probably 25 years and have enjoyed many meals there as well as stopping for a drink/cake/ice cream.
The location is lovely as you can look out over the sea as you sit there. The cafe is always kept warm and inviting in winter and around Christmas they decorate and play Christmas music in the background etc.
In the winter there is usually huge demand for a table in Gossips on weekends or school holidays and you may have to wait a while to get in. But once inside service is good, staff are friendly and the food (and drinks!) are tasty. They have a large choice of meals and there is also a range of freshly made homemade cakes behind the counter to tempt you!
There are no toilets in the cafe but the public toilets are immediately outside so this isn't an issue. The cafe is always kept clean and well maintained too - a basic thing but one which some places can't seem to manage.
Will continue to visit Gossips for the foreseeable 😁.

Arrived at 11:00 after our ferry and found a table outside. Joined the queue to order breakfast and lunch items (menu stated breakfast until 11:20).
A party who arrived after us were given a wooden spoon whilst at their table stating ‘last breakfast order’ they joined the queue in front of us. This was at around 11:05.
I was irritated but assumed I’d just have to order my husband a baguette instead if we’d missed last breakfast orders (even though this isn’t advertised on the menu).
After waiting in the queue to be served for 20 minutes I was approached by a waitress who informed me the kitchen was now closed until 12 and that if I wanted food I could order from a cabinet of cakes or wait.
There was no apology or explanation as to why. I was appalled that we had been allowed to queue for such a long period of time. I tried to query if cold sandwiches were available and she rudely replied it was just the cabinet. With 2 hungry children waiting at my table you can appreciate I was absolute disgusted by this customer service as were others in the queue too - if you have this policy you shouldn’t allow people to join a queue without informing them. Certainly don’t advertise breakfast until 11:30 if you close orders at 11:00 - I presume the group with the spoon in front were able to order. If I had been informed at that point it would have been irritating but it would have saved me 20 minutes of wasted time.
Thankfully we were able to find an alternative and had a lovely lunch at the Terrace and on our way home we visited ‘off the rails’ who both fitted us in as walk ins and provided outstanding customer service.
I guess with the location next to the pier this cafe doesn’t care about keeping customers happy.

Great location as the only cafe in Yarmouth on the shoreline, with external and internal seating some of which have sea views. Good range of sandwiches and cakes and pleasant service. Does seem to get very busy and the fresh coffee machine means that queues can be long - thankfully we got in just before a coach party but the wait is worth it

As locals we come here quite often decided on lunch today. If you look out of some windows you can pretend you're on a cruise. We had wraps ,chicken and bacon and another sweet chilli chicken both came with side salad and the best coleslaw I've had for a long time. Coffee was good too. Placd was very busy but we didn't wait long.

The Gossips Ice Cream Parlour is fully stocked with lots of tempting flavours to try. We came back on several occasions to sample quite a few over the duration of our holiday. Keith was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when it came to choosing the flavours and even let us taste test the Rhubarb and Custard flavour before buying!

The queue was out of the door, but it was certainly worth the wait! We both had the bacon macaroni which was a bigger portion size than we were expecting. It came with half a baguette and butter and was very reasonably priced at £9.95. The milkshakes were lovely, as was the toffee & honeycomb cheesecake. I returned a week later and enjoyed the caramel milk and a millionaires shortcake. Highly recommend and the view from the window looks straight across the sea. Will definitely be returning again.

This is an extremely high traffic area as its literally attached to the beginning of the Yarmouth Pier.
The inside was nice and looked cozy but since we have a dog, we sat outside.
I asked for an egg mayo sandwich thinking it was like a typical egg & mayo cress sandwich without the cress. Nope. This was sliced hard boiled egg.
Their menu states that they have giant scones - it was not a giant one, it was a normal sized scone and also their afternoon tea sounded like you could choose which tea you wanted. Nope. Its only Breakfast blend. Disappointing.
They also had a sign that said " 30 / 40 minutes wait" and what that means is how long you have to wait for your food to be served to you. Again, if their menu was smaller and more basic, it wouldn't be such a huge issue.
I do not recommend stopping here.

All clearly stated on the menu Free range sliced egg and Mayo!
Menu does not state Giant scones it states Large Fruit of Plain Scones which they are!
Our cream tea is served with, Darvilles of Windsor Royalty Tea at a set price and is Assam we do have the option to order our cream teas without the tea at a reduced price then you can add any drink you like !
We do not have a huge issue as you state but at very busy times when the town is very busy, we do sometime inform customers that there may be a wait for food to come from the kitchen due to the sheer number of orders going through! But I do not believe 30 to 40 mins at this time is an unreasonable time to wait for freshly prepared food. At least if you know beforehand you have the option not to order if you cannot wait!

Could have been great but turned out to be awful, mainly down to the arrogant owner/manager. Overall, avoid if you can, overpriced and tiny portions.
Visited with my family and bought x2 lattes, a cappuccino and some deserts (completely overpriced for what it was and the desert tasted horrible, but hey ho). What was utterly frustrating was that my folks had some pasta left over and rather than throw it away wanted to finish it off. The owner came running over telling us how we can't eat in the cafe. Okay then. So as we were putting it away, he sent another lady to come over to tell us the same thing as we put it away.
Ridiculous. I can understand you don't want people to eat other food in your (rubbish) cafe, but jheeze Louise, it was a bit of pasta. Also, tell us once all good, of course we will comply but why send over another woman straight away while we were putting the tiny bit of pasta away.
The only positive was the younger lady at front who seemed much more compassionate whereas this owner is obviously only driven by profit margins.
(BONUS SIDE NOTE) The young lady topped up the cappuccino that the man served as he served well below what would be considered a normall cappuccino, she even had a little apologetic face, which basically told me all I needed to know.
So there we are folks, Gossips Cafe, run by a very stingy business owner.

Arrived in Yarmouth on the ferry and decided to have a wonder around and a quick bite before going onwards.
Got to the cafe around 13:40 and it was not that busy. Found a table with a lovely sea view and started to look at menu.
A lot to choose from and a specials board as well. All sounded very nice so we chose a ploughman’s and a jacket potato with cheese.
Now seeing that you have to go up to the counter and wait in a now rather large queue to place the order and get your drinks the menu prices seem to be on the steep side.
This was confirmed when the orders arrived. One very small dry jacket potato with the smallest amount of grated tasteless catering cheese, no butter and a small warm side salad, which looked as if it was added just to fill space on the plate,
The ploughman’s consisted of a part baked white baguette which obviously had not been re baked as was still very anaemic. One dry picked onion, a spoonful of catering pickle and an equal amount of very strange and nasty tasting coleslaw, all presented in a three section dish again to fill space! Two chunks of cheese and again the strange side salad and about six soggy crisps, looking like an after thought.
We never mind paying menu prices when we eat out if the food quality is good. We also appreciate how difficult things have been for the hospitality trade and how much business overheads are but for what we were charged here for a very basic cafe food we left feeling we would not be returning.
Also the staff all seem rude, our plates were just plonked down in front of us, no smile, no can I get you anything and not even the obligatory command of ‘enjoy’! Maybe they know guests will not enjoy.
