The main attraction of this pub is its location near to Blashford Lakes and with a large pub garden and a play area. However it is evident that the venue is suffering from systems issues and under-staffing. The staff look like they are doing their...best but the poor IT isn't helping. The queue on arrival to get a drink was about 10 minutes (one person serving) but when we went back to order food the queue was out the door (15+ people long). We were on the cusp of giving up when someone said you could order via the app - easier said than done - poor mobile signal in the area for EE and also the app is flaky - says that a lot of options weren't available (e.g. you could't order a burger with no topping - you HAD to order it with bacon, there were apparently no peas, not beans available for kids meals and if you tried to order two scoops of kids ice cream the app tries to charge you £7 vs. the price on the physical menu of £2.50). So the app is hard work, but given the queues at the bar you've got no choice but to use it. Thankfully the food came quite quickly after ordering and was generally OK - nothing amazing but nothing wrong with it either. However you have to get your own cutlery (none in the box - so you have to hunt down a member of staff for this - also no serviettes or ketchup available - this remained the case throughout the duration of our time in the pub. The loo seat in the men's toilet is broken and just resting on the WC. It feels like the Alice Lisle could be amazing but it needs more staff and it needs the app to work properly.More

Very poor visit today. Firstly if you are coeliac do not go here for food. Only one gluten free option on the main menu and no interest in making simple alterations to other dishes to accommodate. The calamari was inedible, beyond rubbery. Main courses took...a very long time to arrive but were tasty when they did. They are obviously understaffed one waitress was very inexperienced but at least friendly and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately another was downright rude! It is a shame as it could be a fantastic pub given its location but we will be booking elsewhere in future.More

Quite a large pub but still charming and with some very interesting history. Set in the heart of Blashford lakes it was the highlight of our visit there. The food was good and they had one of my favourite beers. The staff were so professional...and friendly, they made the visit special.More

I have visited this pub/restaurant probably on a monthly basis. The last time I was here was when I organised a lunch for 18 walkers. Last Sunday I tried to pop in for just a drink with two others at around two o’clock. We were...refused entry. Because we hadn’t booked a table (there were plenty) we could not be served as there were not sufficient staff to cater to us. The fact I offered to take the drinks to the table, and bring the empties back cut no ice….. "they didn’t have the staff the clean the table after us" (how do they wipe down wooden picnic tables I wonder). They obviously wont suffer if I don’t show again, but at least I will feel better going somewhere else where I feel welcome and thanks for my custom.More

I had no confirmation online to say i actually had reserved a table. I got there with my children, i was meeting friends so a table of five was booked. On choosing food on the menu there were two menus, i chose a simple pie...as i haven't had one for ages. At this point we were not informed that there were no pies i chose the next item and there was none of that...there was lack of communication between the chef and staff...but i ask why mid week was there a shortage of items!! I chose in the end Squid, it came out and i thought that the orange dip on the plate was weird but tasted nice. I had to have a burger in the end which was also nice i think maybe a signature plate..The staff were extremely friendly but one girl brought two wrong orders to our table.. I don't think i will be revisiting if i do only for a drink..by the way not many ales to chose from. !!More

Staying in Ringwood we decided to visit the Alice Lisle despite being advised against it. We should have listened. The seat covers in restaurant were filthy. We turned them over and obviously this had been one before as it was the same. Not a good...start and put us off from the beginning. I ordered the Scampi which was OK. My wife order the burger which was all gristle. Not an enjoyable evening but the young staff were polite and friendly and can only serve what they are given.More

We thought we would stop for lunch at the Alice Lisle after a lovely walk in the Forest. The food was really nice and the staff were very polite and friendly. We sat in the garden as it was a lovely hot day and loved...the laid back atmosphere. We will definitely go there again when in the area.More

Popped in here after visiting the new forest waterpark for a drink and a small snack. Lovely atmosphere and felt really welcoming. Staff were accommodating to our allergens and the food and drinks that we did have were yummy. Definitely will be back for a...more substantial meal!More

Visited Bank holiday Sunday. I had a burger and chips, the chips had very obviously been reheated and the burger was very mediocre. Other half had profiterole for pudding and didn’t eat it as it was so bad. Definitely didn’t look like a profiterole or...that it was Choux pastry. It was one large indiscriminate shape of something plonked on top of a large amount of chocolate sauce. If we were to give marks out of 10, burgers 3 profiterole 0. Shan’t be returning which is such a shame as in the past has been very good.More
