I spent last night at Truffles in the company of my wife, mother and her partner, as part of my 52nd Birthday Celebrations.
From arrival to departure we were exceptionally well looked after in an environment which was well set up to provide good social distancing between tables.
Adjustment was made to the preparation of food for two of our party who suffer from food allergies, without this impacting upon there ability to choose any of the menu options which were on offer. Hats off to the chef for being able to adjust preparation of the food to cater for them.
The food was exceptionally well presented and tasted excellent, by far the best restaurant meal I have had in a long while.
We will definitely be back, a lovely little restaurant.

The first time wasn't a fluke, we came back after lockdown and the food was still amazing. They are open again on Fri & Sat evenings. The chef is an artist, all the flavours work so well together that every bite is a party in your mouth. Portion sizes are just right, you can have 3 courses and not feel stuffed. For a couple the meals and two drinks each come to around ÂŁ100, not bad at all for a fantastic meal.
We had smoked duck with mango chili salsa & crispy rice noodles and a
torched mackerel fillet with beetroot, potato, dill and red onion salad for starters. Both were a symphony of taste. Followed by a roasted rabbit loin wrapped in prosciutto with a mustard sauce and a Pan seared beef fillet with saffron and spring onion potato cake and a Dolcelatte and pine nut sauce. OMG, who is their butcher? Desert was balsamic and basil marinated strawberries and a sticky toffee pudding, both delicious. A small selection of wines is available per glass, all those tried so far have been good and great value for money.
Now stop reading and book this place already!

After finding out the restaurant was doing takeaway pies during lockdown we ordered some and were so impressed that we booked a table as soon as they opened. Very clean restaurant with very polite staff. All the food was amazing (my husband made one of the best steaks he has ever had) and look forward to visiting again in the future

This was our first time back to Truffles since early March and we were delighted to find both the cooking and service were as excellent as we have come to expect. Both the Chicken & Pistachio Terrine and Pan-Roasted Beef Fillet were perfectly executed and beautifully presented, and the service was as friendly and efficient as always. COVID-secure procedures were clearly in place. It was a relief to find the 'new normal' dining experience felt just as relaxed and enjoyable as before. We will be returning soon and often.

The lovely wife and I ate here this week now they are back up and running post lockdown
Felt very safe with tables as far apart as possible, sanitiser easily accessible and the staff with masks/visors, the menus left with each table to reduce touching by others, even the card machine was cleaned in from of us before we paid.
The food was a delight, cooked to perfection and every mouthful could not have been tastier
We will not hesitate to return. If you want a good meal in town you have to consider Truffles

We have been patrons of this restaurant , on and off, for over forty years. Right from the start, when Alain was behind the stove and French cuisine was the order of the day. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since and last night a birthday celebration gave us a reason to go back to the restaurant after a gap of quite a few years. We were not disappointed. Some tasteful redecoration has taken place and there seems to be more room. We went for the "midweek brasserie" menu and the food was excellent. We have always been in favour of a set price for a menu and this is what we got. Service was very good and we were looked after front of house by a charming lady, obviously half the husband and wife team who now owns the restaurant. We could not fault the experience. I am sure that Alain would be chuffed to know that his baby is now in such good hands. Well done Truffles. We will be back !

As the title suggests an absolute gem of a restaurant in Fareham.
Every course was delicious - full of flavour, skilfully presented and great value for money. Service was friendly and prompt without being intrusive.
Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

We went for a birthday celebration meal and had a fantastic experience. There is a romantic atmosphere but not too dark and we arranged for a bottle of Prosecco to be put on ice for our arrival. The menu was not too extensive but catered for all tastes and every dish was exceptional. The smoked pheasant starter was a real delight and the beef fillet main was cooked to perfection (we had it rare). The sticky toffee pudding was really tasty and the local cheese board was well balanced and delicious. Overall, a very memorable meal and we will definitely be back.

Firstly, the sticky toffee pudding is delicious! In fact everything we ate was! Really well thought out dishes and a range of food for all tastes. The beef was exceptional and it isn't often a restaurant serves a cheeseboard where the cheese is served at the correct temperature! (Not straight out the fridge). Service was quick and efficient. Will definitely be returning!

Had an amazing dinner for our first visit. Would totally like to recommend this very intimate restaurant.
Staff made us feel safe, very attentive to make sure you had everything you needed and very helpful.
The pork belly starter was delicious, husband had the smoked duck, for the main I had the pesto crusted cod with rhubarb and butter bean mash, OMG beautiful, wonderful combination of flavours.
The dessert we shared as we couldn’t decide, sticky toffee pudding was awesome with the candied banana and we shared the delightful cheese board.
Definitely a return visit when we are back down in Hampshire ❤️

First visit. You get what you pay for! Limited menu, 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 deserts. Starters a tad pricey for what is delivered but the mains blew us away. Our table had 4/5 mains and each was delicious and perfectly cooked. Again we thought the deserts were over priced..cheeseboard at ÂŁ10 for meagre slices of cheese, but again deserts were well balanced and not too heavy. Great selection of wines cÂŁ22/ÂŁ35+ the more expensive Malbec was a stunner.
Service was outstanding. A family run enterprise and nothing was too much trouble.
Yes you pay for quality and the experience was quality (with a smile) in abundance. Delicious food and whilst I can mention prices for starters and deserts, the whole experience was outstanding and for that alone, great value for money. Well done.

Our visit was made within 30 mins of checking availability for a Tuesday evening birthday celebration meal.
We selected the mid- week menu and weren’t disappointed. The food was excellent, tasty and great value. The service was relaxed, friendly, and professional.
We’ll definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and will be visiting again!

We had a fantastic meal at the lovely restaurant Truffles last night. There is absolutely nothing negative to say. The service, food, and wine choice all excellent. The beef was requested by my husband and son as both rare and medium rare. Both versions right on point. Clearly an extremely skilled chef. We hope to return.

Five of us went to Truffles to try their Christmas fixed price menu. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a really delicious three-course meal that was perfectly cooked for all of us. Service was excellent, being friendly, courteous and neither too slow nor too fast. We will certainly be returning before long.

I was excited to find out Truffles were doing a take away 5 course meal to heat up at home for valentine's, and put in my order. We were a little intimidated by the amount of food/ instructions but it was actually really easy to cook at home. The meal was really cleverly designed to still taste fantastic at home. Deeply enjoyed and recommend keeping an eye on their website, they do takeaway :)
