I celebrated my 60th ( I dont look a day over 50 before you ask!) on September 25th. There were 20 family and friends as guests. We had a separate room so we could be slightly loudish as the evening moved on. We were treated...magnificently by Emily and her wonderful staff. The food and service was amazing, all my guests have commented on how much they enjoyed the evening. Outside before we went in for the meal the outside heaters and chimena were put on for us on the patio, it started off the evening perfectly. Well done to all of you!More

Stopped here on the way to Cornwall as it was just off the A303. It already had good reviews and accepted dogs . Staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcome . The food wow the reviews were not wrong . I had...the beef and ale pie , full of meat and the flavour was melt in the mouth . My husband had the rack of ribs , meat was so tender. Well done , this will be our stopping point when driving to Cornwall . Please stop and have a meal you would not be disappointed .More

Didn't book, just turned up. Place was quiet. Friendly staff made us feel at home. Ordered the ribs off the lunch menu, very nice. Dog friendly too. Would recommend.

Haddock was hot and well cooked sorry no pictures I ate it before I remembered to take a picture. The chilli prawns starter was great and chocolate brownie and ice cream was delicious. One of my favourite little out the way pubs.

The Lion was always a great place to eat with reliable, good quality food and good service. I'm very glad to say that our first post-lockdown visit last week reinforced that view as we enjoyed a really good meal in the lovely garden. A shared...starter of duck bon-bons with HoiSin sauce were lovely.. crisp, rich, deeply moreish. The mains we chose were simple but excellent - a very crisp fish and chips with garden peas and a lovely tartar sauce, and a very hearty and delicious ham egg and chips. The ham, we're told, is prepared on-site and the 3 thick slices were fantastic and made for a very substantial meal. All in, with a couple of drinks each, we paid £55 plus a tip for the excellent waiting staff, which I think is excellent value. We did not pre-book but arrived around 6pm on a Friday evening and got a table in the garden without a problem but very soon the place was buzzing and I guess you probably should book ahead to secure an inside table. Dog-friendly in the garden (of course) and in the bar area. We'll be back, and next time I'll come with a heartier appetite as I need to check that the ribs are still as good as they always were!More

The food is outstanding. Although COVID is among us all the staff endeavour to make sure everyone is safe and are attentive to everyone’s needs. Highly recommended Ford a nice pint or an evening out keep supporting the local :)

Sorry Charlotte, there is an extensive wine list but I couldn’t quote it. Look on their website. The London Pride is great.

There's a large grass area and a courtyard.....we've only been there at night so haven't seen many children around.
