Unsure if to submit a negative review as restaurants are struggling and need the business. Unfortunately the food on the day was inedible raw sausage & bacon & uncooked parsnips and tasteless gravy poured over the top. We were unable to eat the meal. This...information was passed to the manager but instead of accepting the feedback and trying to retrieve the situation she spent her time explaining how they cook sprouts & roast potatoes. She didn’t grasp that the food was uncooked and a health risk. A Christmas meal is a special occasion and she should have responded appropriately. After lengthy discussion we were charged for the starters and drinks and given free liquor coffee. Left very dissatisfied and hungry.More

Came recently with friends and sat outside in the indoor eating area (which by the way is lovely!!) Helen our server was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. She was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed; she even moved us...to a table nearer the heater 😊 the only drawback this time were my husband’s chips which were more like scraps. Visited this afternoon with friends. Seated in the outside area. Very comfortable and warm . Great food and terrific service . Special shout out to Gemma who was superb in every aspect , made us very welcome and excellent standard of service. Thanks

Even though the pub was busy, we were seated very quickly the food was fantastic sorry we did not get the servers name as she was so helpful nipping to see the chef a couple of times as I am vegan so she sorted out...an item of the normal price menu and some of the Xmas menu. Also the chef is going to order in some vegan pasta so I have more choice next visitMore

Took my own advice from last time and booked in advance for lunch. This turned out to be the right idea as they were fully booked. There is also a marquee outside, not sure whethere that's for people who don't qualify to eat in under...Tier 2. Friendly welcome, shown to table and ordered drinks. Bit of a delay and another young lady went to check and I was served two! Lovely, warm Christmas ambience; great to see people out and enjoying themselves. Ordered a prawn sandwich and chips and my friend had a steak sandwich. Unfortunately I got a prawn cocktail but it had bread with it so I was not particularly bothered. The chips were very good. Whilst we were eating, the lady manager came over to apologise. I thought this was a nice touch as the young lady had already offered to take it back. Really good customer service. This is a handy place for the motorway and a great place to meet up with friends. Must book again soon.More

Before the current lockdown Myself and husband had a nightmare with the constant rule changes and our wedding so in the end we decided to cancel what we had and just go and get married and very kindly the fox and hounds were more than...willing to allow us to have our meal with family/friends there following all rules perfectly.. They were allowing us to our own section (household to a table), to decorate and to just enjoy our wedding as we would have without the rules in place. However Boris changed the rules again and what we had planned we had to change again last minute and with 3 days notice the fox and hounds were amazing!! They managed to fit us in an already full schedule by moving things around and we managed to have the most perfect day! From start to finish the fox and hounds were incredible, accommodating throughout. Morgan was on hand whenever I needed her, we dropped decorations off to them and told them what we would like and it was done beautifully when we arrived. The day was perfect!! The food was insane as always and everyone loved it!!! Everyone who helped us from start to finish especially Morgan we can never thank you enough for managing to help us on our day and make it perfect especially at such short notice!! We will be in again soon but I will never hesitate to recommend you to anyone! Thank you again xxMore
