This is unbelievably great truly mexican restaurant. I have been regularly coming to Raleigh for business for the past 20 years and didn't know about this "hidden gem". Worth every penny spent

We went in early, before an event at Duke Energy Center. It’s a quick (@.4 mile) walk from the Center. Service was friendly, professional, and well-informed. The cocktails were among the best…fresh ingredients and innovative. The appetizers and entrees were generous and tasty. We can’t...wait to return.More

We'd just seen the Frida and Diego - et al - show at NCMA, and were inspired to find Mexican food afterward, before our drive back to Asheville. I landed on this place by chance, and we three were so happy! Great and cheery servers,...fun decor - everywhere - and a much better than average selection. We all got different lunches, and all of us were very satisfied with our selections. Only after I returned home did I find that this place is THE mezcaleria! I have since spoken with someone who said this is her go-to when she needs that particular fix. Go for the food. Stay for the bar scene!More

Here for a very long hearing and wanted to check out the local food scene. Found this little gem. A step up from your usual Mexican. The nachos were my favorite. And the enchiladas were delicious.

My husband and I sat at the bar where we were served by Dan the bartender, not to be confused with Scott! Lol! His recommendations for food and drinks met my high expectations. I had a lunch combo with a steak taco and half a...chicken torta served with refried black beans. The food was exceptional and only surpassed bu his legendary fresh margaritas. I prefer jalapeño margaritas so Dan suggested I try their house infused mezcal tequila, I was not disappointed. If you’re in the Raleigh area this place is well worth a visit.More

This place was a great little find while we walked around downtown Raleigh. It’s a small, quaint restaurant that only seats about 90-100 people, so they prefer reservations. We, however, did not have a reservation, but luckily they had 2 spots at the bar. Overall,...we had a great experience with the bartender Scott. He made some quality margaritas and got us our food very quickly. If you like tacos, margs, and other Latin inspired dishes, this place is a quality choiceMore

The place is very cute, welcoming, and friendly. The food has great flavor and heat, but it doesn’t taste like a home cooked Mexican meal. All the tortillas are corn, which is great, but I could tell they aren’t made in house.

Truly not your typical Mexican but delightfully unique, authentic, and fresh, more like New Mexican as we've had numerous times in Colorado as well as Sante Fe, Taos, etc. See my review from 5/25/13 for a more in-depth review (path below), but in short, in...addition to the yumster food, the atmosphere is truly awesome (Day of the Dead motif), service top notch, & proprietor really a neat lady (family owned, just met the one gal though. It's a little on the pricey side but worth it. (https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g49463-d810306-r161826987-Centro-Raleigh_North_Carolina.html)More

We had a family holiday luncheon. The food and service were both good. Save room for the bread pudding as it was incredible. Eat upstairs if you can as it will be less chaotic.

My fiance and I have eaten here a few times and it's been amazing every time. The staff are friendly, knowledgable, and attentive without making you feel like they're hovering. The food...beyond fantastic. The enchiladas are some of the best I've ever had, they are...equal to the flavor and quality that I got while traveling in Mexico. This last trip I had their special: half rack of ribs with some kind of pineapple salsa/glaze, homemade corn tortillas (you could taste the love), and guacamole puree. It was DIVINE! The pork was tender and slipped right off the bone. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I can't wait to go back and try something else new!More

5 of us ate here for lunch and I highly recommend it. Its not a large restaurant but they will try and place tables close together for parties larger than 6. The decor was funky and great-the tequila margarita strong and tasty but not overpowering....Chips, salsa and guac arrived in an overflowing basket (small charge for refill) and the lunch options simply delicious. Refried beans were just ok. Bathroom was clean too which is much appreciated. The waitress was very attentive and even though they were fairly busy, we didnt wait long for our meals. Lunch was served until 2:30 pm.More

We were so glad the place we planned to eat at was closed and that we found this fantastic little restaurant and bar on Wilmington St. We arrived for a Saturday brunch to enjoy excellent dishes--pankacas and sausage with fruit, and black beans and rice...with an egg, plantains, and pickled onions. Super taste is an understatement. The atmosphere was "decoupage arty". Great place for couples, families, and friends. Enjoy!More
