Great burgers, tasty fries, excellent and friendly service. We ate outside at a pleasant table on the sidewalk. Lots of different beers to try. Water and soda were replenished without having to ask. Easy walk from the downtown Marriott or Sheraton.

The atmosphere was pleasant, and the view upstairs is great. I had bad service with our waiter, and I reported the issue to management, and nothing was done. He did apologize, and said he hoped the rest of my experience there would be great. So,...the waiter was serving everyone around us, but our table. I was unable to even ask her for a straw for our water. 45 min later I got up and went to the bar and asked her to transfer our drinks downstairs where I could hopefully get service and order food. She did not care, gave us our ticket for our drinks, and told us she couldn’t transfer our ticket downstairs. We paid for our 2 drinks and went downstairs. We really felt discriminated against, and it was sad she did not care about how we felt. She never apologized, we got no response from her, but our ticket on the bar, like pay for it and get out of here. I don’t think I will be visiting this place again.More

Great music, food was very tasty and nice size portions. But, it seemed that they were understaffed. Glasses drinks were served in were not clean. Took a long time to get service, even sitting at the bar.

My wife and I ate there last Saturday night and had the burger recommended by our daughter as she has eaten there. Great 'real' burgers and fries with good beers. I'd recommend it to anyone in the area. Oh, and nice historic rooms, forgot to...add that.More

We were looking for something for a late lunch/early dinner, and Raleigh Times was one of the few places open before 5pm. We wanted to sit outside, so it was a good choice for that as well. At 2:30, the place was surprisingly busy, and...service was a bit slow. I'm sure it was a lack of servers, which seems to be the challenge everywhere nowadays. But Caitlin did a good job of taking care of us. One bit of advice when sitting outside....choose wisely. There were a couple of options open on the sidewalk, but we didn't pay attention when we sat down. After we ordered, only then did we realize the guys at the picnic table next to us were only there for a beer.....and to smoke. That always puts a damper on any dining experience. But the food helped offset that a bit. It was very good. My wife had the Kale Caesar Salmon salad, and I had the Fried Buffalo Chicken sandwich, with fries. They initially brought me their homemade potato chips by mistake (which are very good), and then brought out the fries. They are handcut, and awesome. We both liked our meals very much. Next time we'll probably try inside, or be more careful about picking an outside table!More

I'm not a luddite, but why do I have to go through a satellite to order a beer? When I asked what's on tap, I was shown a card with a QR code, which I had to scan with my phone and get connected -...probably through a server in Croatia - to the menu. The bartender explained that they have a lot of beers and the selection is too long to recite, and he's probably right, but could they maybe print a list? Even in these virophobic times, a piece of paper doesn't seem dangerous. End of rant. This is a positive review. The beer selection was good, the beer was cold, the service (at one of the bars in the place) was quick and attentive, and the fried cod and fries was delicious. I was in town by myself attending a meeting, and this was just what I was looking for. So go enjoy - but don't forget your phone.More

We enjoyed everything we tried! We had the Peruvian wings with a peruvian verde dipping sauce which was sooo good!! We had bangin shrimp po boy , with marinated cucumbers ( really tangy) and the homemade chips cooked perfectly with ranch for dipping! Kaitlyn was...our waitress and she was awesome! We sat outside and really enjoyed that. Just know if you sit outside you can not get the pizzas! That was fine with us though!More

We were touring uptown Raleigh and stopped here for lunch. The staff were friendly, food good and fast service. I had the chopped salad which was good and my son had the fish & chips, which looked so yummy and were. We would have liked...our drinks refilled but other than that, everything was great.More

The bartender/waiter we had was very nice but that’s the only positive thing I have to say about this place. The manager at this restaurant was incredibly rude and the food came out cold. Don’t eat here just go somewhere else.

I think we love traveling in the southeast US because of fried pickles! We order them at almost every restaurant where we eat (seriously). Also seriously, these were the best ever! Sliced lengthwise and the perfect thickness with a crisp batter that stuck to the...pickle so when you bite into it you get a bite, not the whole pickle. The shrimp po’ boy sandwich had a nice kick to it, but the shrimp flavor didn’t really come through. My egg sandwich was perfectly cooked with a runny yolk delicious bacon and avocado and a so-so tomato. The accompanying chips were stale. Lots of tables outside but we made the mistake of eating inside where the music was so loud we could barely hear across the table. Our waiter was excellent and food came quickly.More
