Going from good to bad to “don’t eat here” I hate giving bad reviews but I hope my feedback serves to be a warning to potential diners. This place gets worse by the day! The hummus was so air whipped that it looked like a...bad bacteria culture that was whipped into a mousse. If you pull up a YouTube video about traditional hummus, it is more of a thick liquid textured consistency that drips off a spoon or piece of pita. I turned my spoon upside down and the mousse-like consistency made it like glue that I couldn’t shake off the spoon. I think Sassool is trying to add mass by whipping in air to the hummus. So when the owners weigh the food, the air adds artificial weight, we get a less hummus, they earn more profit. My philosophy is to make the food properly and charge a few cents extra. To turn hummus into a mousse is delivering really bad food while exercising unethical/deceptive trade practice. Also, quit adding too many raisins into the salads to cheaply add weight/bulk. I buy salad for the greens, not for a half-cup of raisins. The worst was the baklava and other desserts! We bought about 6 assorted pieces, the walnut baklava had NO WALNUTS! We pulled the layers of dough apart: It was just layers of phyllo— again, more deceptive trade practices. The pistachio baklava had one sand grains size bit of green pistachio and the rest was just a slab of dough! Why lie to make money? The taste was of cheap commercially processed disease rendering corn syrup, not real natural honey. Another way to profit by not serving proper food. I see the pictures of the owners’ mom on the walls inside Sassool. I believe the restaurant is even named after her. Well, I have to wonder if she’s proud of her descendants’ greed in exercising deception to make money. I doubt that the mousse is what she served at home, rather they ate real hummus. I doubt she poured corn syrup on dough and called it baklava. Customers, like me, who had previously enjoyed the food at the mother restaurant, Neomond, off Beryl, near NC State, will now wait to go to eat at Rumi’s Kitchen in Atlanta or Washington DC. Rumi’s charges a few cents more but doesn’t deceive by delivering shamefully bad food. It’s a shame because we truly supported this restaurant and love family owned businesses. I understand many businesses are struggling to stay commercially viable. However, every time I go to Sassool it’s booming with customers; so why are they exercising such unethical practices? They might have a worker shortage but that doesn’t mean they should lie in their business practices like back alley merchants hawking defective goods. Just be honest and charge extra or adjust your lifestyle to earning less profit. Dishonesty and greed are bad ingredients! Please revert to the Neomond of 2005 when your food was good. We want you to succeed.More

Delicious flavorful salads. The orzo and couscous are so tasty. The couscous has a little spicy heat! So good. The root veggie salad with pecans is also good. Their whole wheat pita bread is light and delicious! The Taste 4 plate is my favorite! Try...4 to find your favorite dish! Pita sandwiches are also very good!More

This is a pretty good restaurant that serves fatoosh, baba ghanouj, hummus, falafel, and similar Middle Eastern fare. The service is OK, many of the staff don't really know much more about this style of food other than the simple stuff such as the price and...portion size. You can sit outside and there is a small grocery area where you can buy pre-packaged food to take home. The price is mid-range, but typical for Middle Eastern food restaurants.More

This is my favorite spot for Mediterranean food. They have plenty of options. Everything is fresh and tasty. The staff are all good. I love 3_4 sampler platter. These are my must have items: Hummus, babaghanoj, tabuli , lentil rice, chicken Mediterranean salad, and falafel...😋More

Open floor plan, great choices of cuisine. Comes highly recommended. Has hues of blue and white quite like Santorini in Greece.

Fantastic restaurant, to satisfy your immediate desires, and a market to take the ingredients home with you and make your own. A wonderful selection of vegan and vegetarian to mix and match to create your own platter. The flight of dips along with their, hot...out of the oven pitas are a great compliment to a plate or on their own. The portions are significant, so my wife and I split a select 4 platter. The mujadara was insanely delicious and we will be back for more!More

Sassool is a regular on our rotation of eateries in our local area. The food is fresh, healthy and served with a smile. I love the the sampler plate where I can try several different dishes because there are many choices to choose from. The...complimentary pita is baked to order. There are items for sale on the shelves so you take the best ingredients home and make your own dish.More

The food here is wonderful. I got lamb, and it was spectacular. Feels like a take away lunch place because you go though a line to get your food, but you can eat there or grab take away. The hummus, babaghanush (sp?), and lentils are...all great too. Will return!!More

My husband can’t eat gluten if any kind. They offer GF. Plus they have it separated from the other food. Everything we had was excellent!

Nice place in shopping centre, has lovely food, mostly Lebanese, and a small shop where you can buy nuts, coffees, spices and drinks from the ME. Very easy going, not expensive.

We had a selection of offerings. The main point is that the cooks must like things on the sour side. We started with ok lentil soup that had a hint of sourness, a first for us with a lentil soup. The kale salad was heavy...on lemon. The pita bread wrapped around some cheeses and spinach was lemony. The jalapena/cilantro hummos was just ok. The veggie kibbee patty was as hard as a brick and fairly inedible. I had one bite and gave up. The pita bread was very good. I thought $30 was on the high side for what we got.More

Sassool marks all their food with allergens, and they put the gluten free items in the front of the cases so that the other foods will not contaminate them. I appreciate this service. Their vegetarian lasagna is my go to entry. I tried to make...it at home, and it takes forever, so I order it when I go. Anything with sweet potatoes is equally delicious. All the food here is good and fresh. The wait staff is usually friendly, and they offer a discount on your bill once you spend a certain amount. It is based on your phone number, so give it when you go.More

Had trouble deciding what to get as all looked so good. Liked that things were made on site and fresh. So many options for sides. Some different dishes and helpful staff to explain what was in things. Healthy portions and the hot bread was light...and lovely:) They also had a small grocery section with hard to find items. The dessert case was to die for! Pistachio baklava.More

Find those specialty mediterranean or middle east items that are difficult to find one place and discover that there is more to Sassol. In a hurry? order take out from their menu - just chose your protein and 2 sides to go from their extensive...selection. Have some time to stay and chat? Decide on a dinner - kefta, lamb, chicken or beef kebabas - with a side of Israeli couscous or perhaps rice with lentils and onions. For a more traditional side dish, select the hummous or tabouli salad. Meals come with puffy pitas. Food is fresh, service is quick and very budget friendly. Make it a romantic meal and order 1 plate with 2 forks!More
