Really great food and entertainment we really enjoyed it very much everyone of us were so full. Great service too

We went here on the day after Christmas. 4 adults and 2 kids. Everyone thought it was great. Large portions and tasty food.

I wish we lived closer to Raleigh, because Imperial Garden would be our go to place for great Chinese food. Their food is quite a bit more authentic than the restaurant we frequent in Chapel Hill. I always order the Kung Pao Chicken when I...visit a new Chinese restaurant. That dish is how I evaluate the quality and authenticity of the food. In the case of Imperial Garden, the Kung Pao Chicken was fantastic. It had just the right amount of spice for me (I like spicy foods) and contained mostly chicken and peanuts, with some vegetables. Other restaurants overwhelm their KPC with a bunch of vegetables, which is OK, but I prefer chicken and peanuts. Great dish and plenty to take home for leftovers. The service was very good and we got a take out menu so that when my wife is in Raleigh, we can order takeout for consumption at home. They have a piano player that starts at 6PM every night except for Sunday and Monday. That adds to the nice ambiance of the restaurant. I would highly recommend Imperial Garden.More

Really disappointed. I came here thinking it was a buffet, and because of the reviews. It's not a buffet - that's ok. My waiter could not understand my order, even after I repeated it several times. I never got the soup I ordered, he couldn't...explain if the egg rolls are both pork and shrimp or if I had my choice on pork or shrimp, so I skipped ordering it. I ordered Mongolian beef - extra spicy with no onions, but keep the scallions and add peppers and mushrooms and it was not right nor spicy. I won't come here again.More

It was so nice to find an old-fashioned style Chinese restaurant doing things the right way in Raleigh. From the big, fat, crispy noodle appetizer to the delicious hot tea and thick hot and sour soup to the ample entree, nothing disappointed. This restaurant has...NO TV, which is rare these days and definitely something my family looks for. We prefer not having to watch a sports announcer over our dinner partner's head! The prices for the entrees start at $9.00. I ordered the lo mein which was ample and delicious. We especially enjoyed the piano player who is very talented. He played a medley of popular tunes from Broadway to Billie Joel.More

This is my choice for Chinese cuisine. The staff is excellent. The lamb scallions has always been an excellent choice. The Tsingtao is always cold.

Have eaten here so many times and never disappointed. The lunch specials are awesome and their hot and sour soup is so goid.

I'm a bit amazed at the reviews of this eatery. They do not reflect my experience, at all. First, their website states that, having been opened in 1987, they are the "original" Chinese restaurant in the Triangle. I know for a fact that the Canton...Cafe, on Hillsborough Street pre-dates this establishment by nearly 20 years, and I was dining at Chinese restaurants in Durham and Chapel Hill at least 10 years prior to 1987. But aside from grand and faux claims on their website, my visit wasn't very impressive. I dined with a group, and we were forced to cram diners together despite other available tables. And our server, one server for the entire table of maybe 20 patrons, made inappropriate comments throughout the meal. She complained about the size of the group and argued about orders. She had no respect for personal space and rubbed her body all up against me. When the food came, it was fine. I wouldn't say it was anything spectacular or "original." Nor were the portions particularly impressive. The place seems popular, and apparently people love it, but I'm not part of that crowd. Bless their hearts.More

Best food, great service, and best piano music in Raleigh. I judge a chinese restaurant by the quality of the hot and sour soup and egg rolls, and these are the best, but so much more. Off the menu items are superb.Best from here to...Chinatown NY and/or Boston.More

Everyone had something different & all were good. Very large portions. I thought the fried rice was a little mushy but other than that a good experience. Enjoyed the piano playing in the background

We went with a group of about 45 on a Tuesday night. Don't be put off by the fact it has a non descript entrance in a strip shopping center. It's beautiful inside. We started with a large delicious egg roll. We then had a...family style meal which consisted of 8 traditional Chinese dishes all of which were excellent. Definitely enough food for everyone. Ended with a special sweet cake. The price was super low - $10 plus tax & tip for everything. Alcohol was extra. Beautifully decorated thru out. Live piano music the entire time we were there. Definitely will go back.More
