Visiting Raleigh and decided to try what was advertised as one of the best steakhouses in the city. The experience didn't start as well as expected when we we're, despite having a reservation made over a month prior, given the absolute worst table. It didn't get much better when we waited an inordinate amount of time for our cocktails which, at one point, the bar sent over the wrong drink. Oh well, on to the appetizers. My partner had the bisque, which she loved. I had the pork belly which was over spiced to the point of being inedible. Never mind, on to the entrée. We shared the 16 oz ribeye which was cooked exactly as asked, very nice. However, it was the creamed spinach and sweet potato casserole that impressed me the most, very tasty. Finally, the cream brulee for dessert was good only to be offset by the waiter messing up the coffee order. I mean, how can you screw up an americano with milk? All in all, I would not consider Sullivans to be an 'elite' restaurant deserving of the over $200 spent for two people.

Overall a disappointing evening here. My husband and I were visiting from out of town and made reservations here ahead of time since we had such a great experience when we came for our anniversary two years prior. We were celebrating my husbands birthday but also kind of our babymoon as I’m expecting. We had 6:45 reservations but did not get seated until 7:20. My husband ordered a drink and it took a long time to get it like probably 20 mins although he really enjoyed it. We ordered an appetizer right away and it came but then we waited a long time for our salads. Everything took a long time honestly. My husband splurged on the waygu beef strip and I ordered a filet. My filet was great and I had the mashed potatoes which were also good. My husbands steak was not right, not juicy at all, tough to cut. He ate most of it before saying anything mostly bc he isn’t the type to complain and our server was busy with other tables and didn’t have time to check on us after our food came out. His baked potato came later than his steak and was hard and cold. I convinced him to let the server know and he did. Our server was so sweet and great through the night but did tell us their head chef was unexpectedly out. I’m sure it was part of why everything was a mess. It was just disappointing to say the least. The manager took off the potato and offered money back on the steak which the server agreed looked “not right”. We didn’t end up leaving until almost 10:30 and we didn’t order dessert. As much as I want to say we will return it may be a long time before we spend that kind of money there again.

Went there for the first and there will be many more to come. The steaks were amazing. They were well cooked, perfect seasoning and tasted great! The dessert selection was limited but they all tasted great. We ordered numerous ones to share with the table. As for the sides- we ordered the brussel sprouts, garlic mash potatoes and asparagus- all were great! Steven was awesome. He was very attentive, gave us some good recommendations and provided some entertainment for the table. One of my sons asked when he was going back and he wanted to see how we can get Steven to be our server the next time we were there. Definitely the best steakhouse that I have had in the area and would go back in a heartbeat.

We normally go to the angus barn for our special meals but had heard great reviews at Sullivan’s and decided to give it a 1st time try. Our reservations was for 4:30 pm Saturday 9/11/21. We were seated promptly and our waitress got our drinks and order within about 5 minutes. Our salad came and all was going good. At 5 pm our waitress came and told us our dinner would be right out. At 5:15 she came back and apologized and offer us a appetizer and said there had been a mix up and dinner would be right out. At 5:30 the table beside of us received their steak dinner and they did not come in until 5pm. At 6pm our waitress came by and said ours would be right out. Our steaks came out at 6:15 ot 1 hour and 45 minutes after we were seated. I will never return here. This was our 44 th wedding anniversary and and of course this really killed the entire evening. My recommendation is the angus barn or Ruth Chris as they really do make your dinning experience feel special. In fact AopleBees would have been a much better choice. Did not even get an I’m sorry from management. The steaks were good. Huge disappointment overall. As you can see this seems to be a trend that wull continue as long as dinning customers accept it.

We expected edible food for our Thanksgiving prix fix meal but instead after an hour and half wait we re recieved no stuffing, gravy, and a tiny side to go with the dry, overpriced, dark fatty turkey bits. The bread was served after an hour of recieving the starter soup. Never again, especially for $49 a person!

I surprised my husband and took him to Sullivan’s steakhouse, since we had never been there. We were seated rather quickly and greeted by our server Ella. The service she provided was horrible. We had to ask for bread and it was old. I ordered a well done ribeye it came out rare. They took it back and when I got my steak back it was a completely different steak and did not have any flavor. The 3 cheese Mac and cheese was not hot or gooey. It was shells with cheese sauce on it and it was not even hot. (Kraft box) I asked for a sweet tea refill and she poured the tea on top of my husband soda and walked away. The to go box was a black box given to us and there was food stuck to the inside of one of the two boxes we were given. No container or anything given just the black cardboard box. I was horrified considering we are at a 4 star establishment. Needless to say I gave my steak to my dog when I arrived home. I will be going back to Ruth Chris that was horrible.

Our son requested birthday dinner here as he had previously enjoyed celebratory dinner here about 4 months ago. We were looking forward to it as we have dined at Charlotte South blvd locations numerous times in past always had great food great service. While I son parked vehicle we spoke with hostess about getting a surprise birthday dessert for son she assured us no problem and spoke directly with our waitress. We confirmed it was going to happen and thought all was good. Enjoyed drinks and appetizers before main meal service was slow and continued to deteriorate. Had to beg for more water repeatedly waitress would apologize no water.....really frustrating. Main meal arrived food was good but not outstanding to be honest and lackluster service continued. So we ordered after dinner drinks and I even whispered about dessert to waitress who smiled and nodded. You guessed it no dessert. Clearly she thought everything was fine. Didn’t want to create scene but we will NEVER return. Certainly avoid for birthdays..🙏

We haven't been to Sullivan's in a while and it has been one of Raleigh's best steak houses. Decided to go for our Granddaughter's birthday and were terribly disappointed. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was less than half full. We went early, around 5:00 which was probably good. After ordering drinks and appetizers, our waitress came for our order. The first thing we were told is that the top three items on the menu were not available! Really in a Steakhouse. All ribeye entrees except one was unavailable. Most of us ended up ordering chicken or fish and one of the remaining ribeye's. Unfortunately for the waitress, she had to come back and advise us that they were now out of the other ribeye. Service was slow but the food that did come out was fine. There were other issues which I won't go into. Suffice it to say Sullivan's has serious management issues and, through it all, we felt sorry for the waitress who had to keep bringing bad news. During our meal, we also felt sorry for the 6, 7 and 8:00 reservations wondering what was left for them. Needless to say, we won't be going back to Sullivan's anytime soon. Many other better choices now in Raleigh.

This use to be one of my favorite restaurants and places I would recommend in the RDU area. I would normally tell people that if they want a busier fun atmosphere to go to Sullivans opposed Ruths Chris but the quality of food was just as good. Sure, enough some of those that I recommended the restaurant to decide to get me a gift card to eat there for my birthday. Since I didn't really want to dine in, I placed my usual Bone-In-Ribeye. I had been waiting on this steak all month. Needless to say, the steak was very dry even though it was supposed to be medium. It had little to no flavor at all. This steak was great in size but comparable in taste to a lower quality restaurant who simply has steak on the menu as an option but not a specialty item. I ended up giving a good portion of it to my dog. I am pretty sure she enjoyed it thoroughly. I ordered a side salad, and I just knew that couldn't be messed up, but the breadcrumbs were rock hard and tasted old. I ended up discarding them and just eating the lettuce. Lastly, I saved some room for the KeyLime pie, and it tasted store bought. This was so disappointing, and it left me wondering what happened to what I considered one of the best steakhouses in the Triangle. I am not sure if the quality was due to having a takeout order, paying with a gift card, or the restaurant is simply no longer what it used to be. So disappointed on my birthday. I will have to find another place to eat tomorrow to make up for it. C'mon Sullivans!

What can I say, if you like a Golden Corral experience without the good food. Server has no idea what they were doing, had no clue what wine was or a crown and ginger. The seating so tight that our chairs kept getting bumped through the whole meal. The food came out before we even got a drink which was 50 minutes , the appetizer came after the meal still before we had any drinks. Luckily we had a gift card from friend, we gave the rest of what’s on the card to the waiter, who was not an experienced waiter, but was very nice and kind. Crab cakes were not good, appetizer was over cooked , mashed potatoes had no flavor. Kept asking what we were celebrating. Just two weeks before my wife’s next cancer surgery and we wanted to have a nice dining experience. Well we are very disappointed and will never come back to this restaurant. Durham parizod beats this place every time . Go to Durham

We booked a table several weeks in advance for a Thanksgiving dinner with our parents visiting from overseas. The menu was set in advance. When we arrived the restaurant was out of stuffing. We ordered a wine, which also was out of stock. The waiter brought us another wine, however way more expensive. We should chose between three deserts, but the one we ordered was also out of stock. The starter was really good and so was the atmosphere, however obvious that the restaurant took in too many guests. When we got the turkey, they were out of gravy and the food was cold. Furthermore half our table didn’t get the side orders we ordered. At this point we had enough and told the waiter we would leave. The manager was very understanding but it was way too late. We had been looking forward to this evening for weeks, but we didn’t get anything near what we hoped for and ended up eating cereals at home for thanksgiving dinner.

We were at the Raleigh location on a Monday night, the restaurant was less than 25% capacity and the service was horrible! After waiting 45 minutes for crab legs and a baked potato, I made my way to the kitchen where the staff and manager couldn’t care less and were lazily standing around without a care in the world. When I demanded to see the manger, Kaitlyn Place as she identified herself, was unapologetic and acted as this was not an issue. I would highly recommend finding another restaurant to eat at, perhaps Capital Grille or Oak Steakhouse as they both provide excellent food and service!! I wish I could give minus stars for what we experienced tonight! Kaitlyn, I hope you return to basic customer service class, you’re certainly not manager material.

Last night Doordash delivered my order and a few things were missing. I notified Sullivan’s immediately. Within 15 minutes my corrected order was hand delivered to me BY THE MANAGER OF SULLIVANS!!! whoa! The food was exceptional, as always. What was hot was hot, what was cold was cold and every bite…delicious.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. It was the second time, the first time being many, many years ago. The food was good but our server left something to be desired. She may have been overwhelmed or had too many tables but things were just very slow. She refilled our tea with no ice even though we asked for more ice, we never got it. We asked to split the bill and that took a very long time for her to return with a split bill. It was not what I remembered from way back when. Maybe our server was just having an "off" night but she came across as very fake.

My wife and I visited here for a birthday dinner. The food was amazing but the cheesesteak egg roll was the item of the night. That is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. This restaurant is pricey but it’s all about the experience. The negative experience was the parking and they forgot some of our to go items we ordered. We didn’t find out that we were missing anything until we got home. My wife called them and the manager offered us a discount for the next time we come there to eat.
