My wife and I came here for the first time, for our anniversary celebration. Heard great things about this place. The first thing we noticed was how nice and extravagant the property and restaurant were. Very nicely done, and definitely a sight to see. There...was also a very nice covered outdoor waiting area with a full bar. Haven’t seen anything like that before at a restaurant. The inside was even nicer. Just an amazing place to visit. There are multiple dining rooms, each appearing to have a different theme of sorts. We were sat upstairs in the large open space of the “barn” and the lights were amazing. There is also a humidor for cigars inside, and a nice waiting area with a pretty cool display of a large colt revolver collection. Even the elevator seemed antique and very cool. Now to the service. It was hands-down the best service we’ve ever had at a restaurant! From the hostess to the waitress, everybody was genuine and fantastic. There even appeared to be a manager for each room that walked around and checked in with each table. As for the food, it was definitely good. But it just wasn’t quite worth the abnormally high cost of the meal. And the main entree portions were smaller than expected. There was a complimentary appetizer of homemade crackers and ritz crackers with two different homemade cheeses. It was a nice touch and we nearly finished it all. The pre-meal salad was very good, and a super large portion. The desserts were also expansive and good. We were given a complimentary pound cake, which I believe was for our anniversary. Although we noticed other tables got one too. It was a large cake, and very surprised to get it! It lasted 5 days between the two of us. It’s easy to see that the super high prices you pay are including the atmosphere and service you receive. If you’re looking for the experience, then definitely check this place out.More

All of the food was delicious. It is a firly small menue but some great choices. We had the oysters, Salads, PrimeRib, Ribeye a bottle of wine and desert. WORTH EVERY PENNY. I saved the best for last: Kendar was the best server I have...ever had (and we eat out a lot). She is attentive, mindful, and fun! For me, this service will be my reference to which all others are measured. A credit to the managment of the resturant.More

Fabulous service by everyone. Great bars indoor and outdoor. Cigar bar. Amazing wine selection. Toured the wine cellar. I hear at the holidays they have a phenomenal lighting and decorations. Top quality dry aged beef. Must try the warm chocolate pie served a la mode

We went for our anniversary. My wife had never been before. I had the 15 oz prime rib while my wife had the 10 oz filet wrapped in bacon. Everything was delicious! Service was very good. Caesar salad was excellent. If you have the opportunity...to go to the Angus Barn, I would highly recommend.More

Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was nice and homey. Food was ok. Cracker & cheese plate served at no charge was nice. Olives were “old” didn’t taste fresh. Their alcoholic drinks were very good. Food was just ok. Steaks were ordered medium +...( asked for slightly pink in the middle. Both came out well done and this dry. They were very nice to surprise us with a decorated pound cake as a anniversary gift. I wish the steaks were better because the people are so nice!!’More

Great meal, service and atmosphere. They accommodated a request to increase our reservation from 6 to 8 people at the last minute. Our waiter was very professional. The food was excellent. We all have various steaks and ribs. All the dinners come with a salad...and side. It is a huge, unique property with a very interesting atmosphere.More

Had a sweet potato and ribs. Terrible. Service was fair. We were a bit ignored but all in all she was ok. Our food was very lackluster. That $9 sweet potato was small. Ribs were dry. Sauce was kinda bitter. Lots of better places to...dine in Raleigh. Building is neat though.More

We get the opportunity to go to the Angus barn once or twice per year. It is consistently good and presents a fairly good value for what you pay. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I always recommend sitting upstairs for the better ambiance.

Our four top with reservations was promptly seated and quickly visited by two wait staff. A cocktail, one wine by the glass and a bottle of Zinfindel were served and all were nicely done, proper temperature on the wine being important to this group. Two...filets, beef spare ribs, a ribeye, baked potatoes, salad, brocolli, and a french onion soup were ordered. The soup was common as were the salads and baked potatoes. The filets were good but nothing special, the ribeye was OK, but again nothing above average. The beef spare ribs made an impressive presentation and were reported to be very good and tender. We finished the bottle of wine at a leisurely pace and skipped dessert. Given the overall impression, atmosphere, service, and food I rate restaurant very good, but maybe a tad overpriced.More

We were seated at a rear table with a view of the scullery with all the noise and unpleasant sights like discarding food, employees taking a drink break, etc. Our waitperson was great! Then the food came. Steak not as ordered but to send it...back would mean everyone else's dinner would either be cold or I would be eating alone! Our daughter's filled pasta dish was dry and almost inedible. My wife's salmon was underdone and she ate very little of that. My baked potato was dry with a piece of hard cheese on top that I discarded. Were it not for the sour cream and butter I would not have eaten it. I've never had a meal there that I felt was worth the money and I don't consider myself cheap! I don't mind paying a higher price for the ambiance/above averge food. This was our out-of-town daughter's first trip to the restaurant and she was very non-plussed by it all. Actually, she suggested that on her future trips home that we eat local. We concur completely!!More

Owner has decided to double down on customer unfriendly poor managers who are unable to effectively respond to or solve any problems no matter how minor a customer may have. Owner called me personally at dinner embarrassing me with an uncalled for and tasteless conversation...in front of my dinner companions and shockingly wanting me to accept responsibility for their shortcomings. Unacceptable. No customer should ever be embarrassed this way or even approached this way about the shortcomings of ones own business. Unacceptable. I cannot recommend this business and will no longer patronize them after many, many years of friendship, help, and patronage of this restaurant. It's just beyond the pale. Beyond the pale. I have issued checks for $1.80 each for each entree that was delivered to my table first burned and then ice cold paid personally to the owner. Enter at your own risk.More

It’s a must visit every time I’m in the area! First time here was back in 2006! 16 years later and it’s just as good as I remember it! Well, it’s actually only gotten better! The service is professional and friendly. As a solo diner,...I was not forgotten about, and treated just as well as the bigger groups. The food was so delicious! I forgot how much you get! The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking, and worth every cent! Definitely walked out full! Next time I’m around, I’ll be back!More

I would recommend semi-casual. It’s an upscale place, but you don’t have to dress in tuxedos or suits. But make sure you dress nicely. Enjoy!
