Oro is spectacular! Definitely go with a group to do the tasting menu and have fun! The drinks are so unique in their presentation, try something new and be surprised at what they bring you. For the chefs tasting menu they bring out something like...10 full dishes of the menu’s most popular items. You will leave stuffed! There is flavor in every dish! The service is good and the place is clean.More

My son and I decided to visit Oro restaurant during Raleigh Restaurant Week. We read good reviews and liked the menu that was being offered. We made reservations and were seated quickly upon arrival. We were greeted with a smile and professionalism. Our server was...friendly and fully engaged with our experience at the restaurant. Our dishes were served in a timely manner. We enjoyed our food and dessert. Everything was very tasty and moist. The portions were a little on the smaller side but other than that we had a wonderful visit.More

The food is good. It is expensive. So, if you are paying about $20 for an appetizer-sized helping of food, and you need two or three to make a meal, then your best bet is the family-style approach, instead, which must be agreed to table-wide....It is $60 but they keep bringing food until you say that you're done. You don't pick the food that they bring; they do. My guess is that they're bringing out whatever they're also serving to other tables, so they're just adding more quantity to an already-placed order nearby. That's efficient and reasonable. The kitchen was slow, but an outstanding server more than balanced that out. Interesting menu. My only serious complaint is the unbelievably horrible acoustics. You can't hear anything in there; otherwise, this would be five stars.More

My Birthday Dinner. My surprised Birthday Dinner with 8 members of my family. I'm a vegan so the Family Option was the best choice for us. We had about 8 courses which included meat options. The cauliflower and potatoes, string beans are the best here....The Creme Brulee is so so but I have had better. This is an ideal place for a large group of foodies.More

ORO has been in Raleigh for years but it’s new to me!!! I’ve been twice this fall. It was very busy on a Saturday and rather quiet on a Monday. They offer fun cocktails and a great assortment of small plates. The service was great...both times!!More

The ambience in this place is great. RTP area of NC, which is where this place is located. You get most of the good things of a big city without the hassles, ORO exudes the vibe you get when hanging out on Billionaire Row in...Manhattan. Very nice, The food is always wonderful. Maitre'D has a very chill personality. Good place to have good food, and a good stroll through the downtown area. Nice date night venue. I had duck for dinner. It was great.More

I love the vibes of this place. But the service was a little slow in the beginning. Almost all the Food was tasty, the bok Choy was excessively salty. The wine recommended was great as well.

While all the food and drinks were very good, it is worth going there just for the Chilean Sea Bass, in spite of it's high price of $35. My son had a specialty cocktail Tweet Yourself which came in the cutest glass. The only reason...I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is the cost. The menu lists wine by the glass with one, high price, but we were offered two sizes. Of course, we knew it would cost more, but the bill turned out to be extremely high.More

We went for downtown resturant week and they had a great selection on their menu. Our server, Corey was excellent. He was very good and funny. He allowed us to take our time during dinner and not rush us. Resturant week menu was 3 course...for $30/person. It was not very big, but they tables on a second floor too. The wine was a little pricey, but good. For glasses of wine, you get a choice of 6 oz or 8 oz. We had 6 oz and it was plenty. We both had mushroom rosuitto, braised short ribs with potatoes and taramisu for dessert. The atmosphere was modern. Thank you Corey for making our evening enjoyable and fun.More

Very nice looking restaurant and the service was excellent. Since we got there around 6:30 pm on a Friday it was very easy to park in the lot right across the street. Upon entering, the restaurant was almost empty...maybe only 4 tables were occupied. The...hostess sat us in probably the smallest table in the entire place. We asked if we could sit in the adjacent table which would allow a nice view from the loft...she said no because we were only a party of 2. Two of the other tables for four that were occupied had only 2 people sitting there...WTF? The food was okay at best...we thought it was bland compared to the food at Vidrio where we ate the previous week. We started with the Brie/fig appetizer which was good, then had the ribs which we thought were dry. Then we had the potstickers which were okay but way too pricey for something similar you’d get at Costco. I like the Mac n cheese...my wife thought it was too seasoned and rich. We both thought the fish tacos were extremely bland and wish we had not ordered it. All in all it was barely an ok experience that cost us about $140 for the small bland portions we had with an extremely crappy view. Give Vidrio a shot if you want tapas. I do not see us returning here.More

We had wonderful wine and food. The grilled octopus was one of the best I’ve ever had and paella was as good as the one I’ve had in Spain. Courtney kept us entertained making super fun looking drinks! Super friendly too.

2nd time dining here. “Supertapas” style plates to share with enough food to fill you. We had a melange of choices including fresh fish, octopus, a cheese platter, soba noodles. Fun dessert: flamed our own marshmallows at the table to make smores. Good wine list.

We tried here for Valentine's and did not have a reservation so we were a little surprised they could seat us. The food was really good and the atmosphere was good, but the best was the service. The hostess was very friendly and helpful and...our waiter was great. The executive chef came out and checked on us, hopefully we will eat here again when we are in town.More

This is one of our favorite places in Raleigh. Small plates to share, amazing drinks and excellent wait staff. This is our go to place for date night. Always excellent food and the menu changes regularly so it is always a new experience. They have...a varied menu so vegetarians are happy as well as meat aficionados. We have had 18 family members here for a holiday dinner and they were marvelous. If you have 8 or more people try the tasting menu. You will get to try a wide variety of items, leave stuffed and it is affordable. If you have clients in town this is also a great option. The staff is amazing and will treat you and your guests like royalty. A very nice experience. If you can get Corey or Courtney to wait on you that is great but the whole staff is terrific. They change their cocktail specials every so often and you should take a leap of faith because they are very good and the presentation is unique. Trust me. The owner/chef is very accessible and attentive so the whole dinign experience is a delight. Highly recommend.More
