My wife and I went there for dinner. Staff was very polite and friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxed and clean. The food was fresh and delicious. We both had the catch of day meal. She had the grilled salmon and I had the grilled...swordfish, both meals were served with asparagus, risotto and your choice of sauce. I would definitely recommend the Cape Fear Seafood Company Restaurant to all my friends and family and we will be returning next time we are in Raleigh.More

This was the place we regularly went! Then I would have given it a 5 star. But now, no way. The bread was stale and flat, the salad was a bit lumpy and the tomatoes mushy. We always ordered the lobster tail with mash potato...toes and green beans. This time the lobster was overcooked, and they don’t offer the mashed potatoes anymore, bummer! Also our chocolate cream desert we always orders is off the menu! Double bummer! Gonna have to find another favorite as this didn’t it anymore, sadlyMore

Went for an early dinner before a hockey game & chose it due to close proximity. It's also very close to the NC State campus. There was no problem getting a table. The decor & atmosphere were pleasant. Having previewed the menu on-line, there were...items that were of interest. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer, which I found to be great. It was served with marinara sauce, which is what I prefer with the dish. They also brought bread to the table; three pieces for two people, which seemed odd. I question it & was told their reasoning, which I sort of get. My main course was the broiled seafood platter, which was mostly good. I especially liked that it included fresh asparagus, besides the seafood items. I would have appreciated a bit more seafood & a bit less rice pilaf, but the main items were excellent. This is a situation in which the main course determines your side dishes.. I prefer to pick my own from a list, rather than have them pre-determined, but it was fine. My co-diner also said his main course was very good. During the meal, the server came by to ask how things were going. I assume they want the truth, so I mentioned that I felt the iced tea was weak/watery. We discussed it a bit. Another glass yielded the same result, in my opinion. I like a strong, robust tea with a bit of a kick to it. Maybe that's how their regular customers prefer it. Long story short, the establishment deducted the iced teas from the bill, which I felt was a nice gesture, though certainly not my intent for raising the issue. Had I not been asked anything, I would not have just said it without any prompting. To finish, I ordered a double scoop of ice cream (vanilla only) for dessert. It wasn't in scoops, per se, but kind of a blob on a small plate. It didn't appear to be what I would consider the equivalent of two scoops & I was told their scoops are on the smallish side. In any event it was good, so I was satisfied. When we got the check, it was a surprise that the ice cream was only $1.95 if I recall - I was expecting it to be $3.95 or more in this type of place, so that was a bargain. The service was fine & there's adequate free off-street parking in a lot in front. The restaurant is part of a small shopping center with other stores. I would go here again if I'm in the area.More

The food was great and the staff was even better! Our dinners were delicious, we had the snow crabs and the lobster and shrimp risotto. And, when my 85-year-old dad started feeling sick, the staff scurry to help him, got him an office chair to...roll out on, And sat with him while I went to get the car. If I could give them 10 stars I would, even if the food wasn’t fantastic!More

My family and I went to this restaurant 2 nights ago to celebrate my niece’s birthday. We had a large group. We were greeted with a smile and seated quickly. There was a total of 15 of us split across 2 tables. Our orders were...taken right away, and our food was served within a reasonable time period. Our main server and all helpers were friendly and professional. They tried their best to accommodate us. The food was tasty and portions were adequate. For the most part everyone enjoyed their food although I was dissatisfied with the clam chowder; it had a wonderful flavor but it was very very thick and clumpy and not like what I was used to. I gave this restaurant a three star because we did encounter some hiccups along the way. Issues encountered: (1) One guest asked for a well-done filet mignon and received a rare filet mignon so much so that there was blood on the plate seeping into all the other items on the plate; (2) Several guests were served the wrong order; and (3) There were minor issues with billing. Overall, we had an enjoyable time and a great celebration.More

Good food but horrible service. Used the outdoor seating and it was as if our waitress just forgot about us. Very friendly but terribly inefficient. Crab dip ordered as appetizer never came; bread was ‘in the oven’ but arrived cold midway through the meal; wanted...to order second round of drinks but she never came back; no water refills; had to go inside to get our own condiments. A real shame as it will keep us from returning.More

Had a 5:30 reservation at the Village District location. Stated a preference for outside seating. Got there and an outside table for 4 was available. Hostess said that was only for parties of 4. We left and as we were leaving saw hostess seating a...party that came in after us (with no reservation) at the available table. Will not return.More

I brought my family here to get an early jump on Valentines Day and counteract our cabin fever. We ordered the Crab Dip Appetizer, Crab Legs, Broiled Seafood Platter x2, and a Shrimp Basket. Everything was Excellent. The food was fresh, seasoned and cooked to...perfection. The items that were supposed to be cold were cold and the food that was supposed to be hot were hot fresh off the grill. The quality of the food was high and the portions were size-able for the price. The waitress kept our glasses full, was attentive to our table needs and very pleasant. The Manager took the time to stop by and see how things were going. The atmosphere was relaxing. We will certainly return.More

Started the meal off with the crab dip which was absolutely marvelous. I loved the seasoned pita points that they served with it. Really accentuated the crab flavor. I tried the Lemon Pepper scallops to be different and the sauce was perfect. Lemon and pepper...flavors were perfectly balanced and the scallops perfectly cooked. Generous portion. The Creamy Risotto was excellent as well. Perfect texture to complement the lemon/pepper sauce on the scallops. The asparagus was perfectly cooked as well and very fresh. My husband had the Dinner Crab Cakes which were awesome when I sample them. I might get them next time! Finished the meal with Pots de Creme. OMG. What a way to end an already wonderful meal. Restaurant was observing COVID rules. Patrons were seated with at least a table between them, were sanitized well between patrons and servers were masked and maintained distance from the table while taking orders, etc. Thumbs up for COVID precautions as well.More
