This place is just like any coffee joint- lots of places to sit, work on you computer and drink lots of coffee. What makes this place stand out is the availability of liquor. Each coffee drink ordered can be ordered spiked (with alcohol). The concept...is great but the service is seriously lacking. I shouldn't have to sit at "the bar" with a less then half full establishment and wait for service (at least 5-7 minutes). I didn't even get eye contact let alone, "I'll be right with you" comment. That immediately put me off and would have left but my friend wanted to stay. What made my experience even more disappointing was my coffee. I ordered a Vietnamese Ice Coffee where it was not served iced and actually was served in two different cups. Never have I had that before and sadly, it tasted awful. My vanilla latte did not make up for it either. Spent lots of money on drinks that were not drinkable. I might have had an off day for service. I would go back but I would not run there.More

Good thing is that this coffee shop has good coffee... bad thing is the staff don’t have enough help to be able to do a good job. We ordered 4 breakfast sandwiches and waited over an hour and after asking the the girl, Cassandra, where...they were she realized she never sent the ticket back to the kitchen...even though multiple people/groups who ordered food after us quickly got their orders. After writing down our order again she waited another 10 minutes to run it back to the kitchen because she was too busy to leave the coffee station. She could have used another person there to help her make drinks and ensure she’s taking orders correctly. After we finally got our order we see that the sandwiches were microwaved egg and cheese, over all not worth waiting a few minutes or over an hour for their food. Just get the coffee and get out!More

Came here for a flat white and muffin. They did the coffee right! This is a good place to come in from the cold or just to hang out.

Because it’s 29 degrees out, I ducked into the coffee shop. Its’ location is truly it’s best asset. I’ve been walking this stretch of road since 2001, but this is only my 4th visit. Most times I have enjoyed it, and most times the music...has been good. Because it’s a larger space than most Raleigh coffee shops, it allowed me to find a space to be quite and write. I like the water they provide. The cucumber slices are tasty. The large windows are nice. The coffee is fine. The service is what keeps it from being 5 star. I have never felt “hosted.” Hospitality is important in the coffee industry- in my opinion. Lots of people are getting work done. The leather chairs are semi comfortable. I appreciate their being open to the strangers who come in out of the cold.More

My husband and I both got coffee here twice during our visit. They had the nitro brew my husband wanted and the place had funky decor and it was very clean.

We got coffee here before skipping town. The Queen’s Guard and Coffee Imperial we’re both delicious though not the best coffee I’ve ever had. Sir Walter gets points for novelty, but the coffee is very expensive and not something I’d make a habit out of....Probably their regular coffee or more simple drinks would be the way to go. Though it was fun to try something new, my taste buds on a regular day would prefer a well-made Americano.More

Everyone has visions of a great coffee shop and Sir Walter Coffee is mine. The decor is classy and the coffee is excellent although we did not order anything fancy. The do have quite a list of creative coffee drinks though. They also offered a...small variety of breakfast and lunch items. We just has the yogurt parfait and waffles. Both simple but tasty.More
