We started off with wine which Was good and served at just the right temperature. Bread and butter was served after the wine without us asking which also was also good. Our appetizer came out in a cute cast iron pan but was greasy and...and stuck to the pan, despite raving reviews we read beforehand, The onion soup was good also. The petite filets was very petite. There’s no way that the steak we received was 8 oz! And then it was served with the wrong sides. They did bring out the right sides and everything was cooked and seasoned just right. However, the seafood crepe with lobster sauce was so salty I couldn’t even finish it! For dessert the creme brûlée my husband ordered was perfect but what they served as peanut butter mousse is definitely not what I had envisioned it to be. So I ordered the crewmen brûlée instead and half of it was burnt on the top! Unfortunately I don’t think we will be going back. I’m sure there are restaurants in the area that wouldn’t let burnt crème brûlée leave the kitchen and where they would serve the dishes as described in the menu without over-salting meals. It was disappointing because We were so looking forward to going here after reading such great reviews!More

Our first visit. Another couple joined us for our anniversary. Fine dining in a very attractive restaurant. Service was great, and food was very delicious. Not an extensive menu but no worry. Four different entrees at our table, and each of us were well pleased....The restaurant is located in an amazing shopping, dining, residential, and business area referred to as Mid Town.More

Very lack luster service . 4 people at the bar but we had to ask for drinks, then ask for appetizers, then ask for drinks, then ask to order dinner. Staff is too busy watching TV or joking with each other to pay attention to...customers.More

Our family of six had the most amazing dinner yesterday celebrating two birthdays. Thank you Sam (manager), Sarah (server) and a talented bartender for taking great care of us. Sarah timed our courses perfectly to deliver the right amount of leisure without feeling rushed. The...oysters were fresh and ice cold, the cocktail sauce was spicy, the charcuterie board had the finest cheese and meat selection. We also enjoyed the beet and the quince salads which were perfectly dressed. We loved that Sarah kept an eye to top off our wine, bring another bread basket, and clear any dirty plates, to be sure we felt relaxed. The kitchen team is top notch as our main courses arrived hot and just the right amount of time after our starters and salads. The steaks and fries were accompanied by indulgent sauce choices. (Pro Tip: do not upgrade the steak to a filet - as my husband did - because actually the strip that our daughter had was just as good.) The mussels were tender and plentiful, and bourguignon was traditionally prepared and hearty. We finished with some dessert wine (delicious recommendation our bartender,) a selection of dessert minis, and cappuccino. Highly recommend the chocolate pot de crème! And thank you for the candles so we could sing “Happy Birthday!” We especially loved the cappuccino served with a lump of caramelized sugar and a lemon twist. Our entire experience, from the location with convenient and plentiful parking, to the beautiful décor, to the friendly attentive staff, to the highest quality food, was lovely. We absolutely recommend dining here for a special occasion or anytime you are in the mood to enjoy the French classics.More

We had brunch for our anniversary at Coquette. The shrimp cocktail was awesome. The seafood crepe was excellent. We had a side of duck pate. We had the profiteroles. It was supposed to have banana rum coconut ice cream, but they put the earl grey...ice cream. It would have been much better with the banana rum.More

For many years I am a regular client. I appreciate the food and the bistro atmosfeer. Service was always good until lately. Today I was completely ignored during 20 minutes. I had to call the waitress to come take my order. My questions were rudely...answered.I ordered a steak frites and a beer. Both were excellent. I had to wait another 25 minutes before be attended. I asked for the dessert menu. Other 10 Minutes and the waitress showed up with the bill. She realized she forgot to bring the menu. The vanilla bean brûlée was excellent. Asked the waitress for a expression coffee. For 15 minutes nothing happened. Apparently there was a shift change with no exchange of information. I repeated my coffee order to the new waitress. It is a shame that such a nice place with decent food get demolished by unprofessional waiting.More

We've been here many times and have never written a review. One of our favorite restaurants in the state. They do a great job repaying what you'd find in a great Parisienne bistro. They used to offer duck confit on Wednesday nights - please, please...bring it back!More

I've wanted to try out Coquette at North Hills for years. Finally stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. I arrived 5 minutes after they opened, hoping to be in and out fairly quickly, as it's a workday for me. Despite at least 6 front-of-house...staff in my line of sight, all not actively serving guests, and only 3 other tables occupied by solo diners plus one group of 3, I stood and waited patiently while the hostess took a phone order and then seated me. I sat for 15 minutes (yes, I counted) as no less than 4 servers mingled, folding linens and chatting and looking around the empty restaurant -- even looking right at me but not one of them said or did anything. They appeared bored and uninterested in customers, which was a bummer. A youngish man I assume was the manager was back there yukking it up with them. After 15 minutes passed without anyone so much as acknowledging me, I approached the hostess and asked her politely why no one had come to even take a drink order yet. I know it’s a risky thing to do, as some servers will then mess with a customer’s food. But I’m genuinely not fussy and I don’t EVER complain if I can avoid it. I have tremendous empathy for servers and I tip generously even when dining alone and ordering very little. As I told the hostess, I am the kindest and most understanding customer in the world. I just didn’t understand why I’d been left to sit like that. I probably should have left right then, but I wanted to try the food. Once a server finally approached me, others who trickled in after me (95% senior citizens) were seated and served much more promptly. The food was fine but nothing great. Croquettes were good but only lukewarm, not hot. The chicken paillard salad wasn't like any chicken paillard I've ever had, which was disappointing. It was ghostly white and cold, with dark, almost artificial grill marks, and overall the salad was unappetizing. I ate it and it was fine, but curiously the sparse few shallots were minced, not sliced or even slivered, and they sat at the bottom of the bowl, where I didn’t see them until I was basically done with my food. Even so, they were so small I couldn't pick them up with a fork. There was maybe one complete haricot vert in the entire salad, chopped into like 4 pieces. That’s it. I left several slimy / wilted lettuce leaves in the bowl uneaten. The pistachios and lardons saved it, as did the fact that it was very lightly dressed. TBH, I expected better for a small $15 salad. This is Raleigh, not NYC or Paris …. sadly the service is better in both places than it was at Coquette. I understand it’s been a tough year, but please don’t take out your problems on customers who are trying to support local restaurants.More

Had a visit for a late lunch w/a party of 4. Noticed they had a nice outdoor seating area on the way in, enhances their seating for sure. Had reservations, seated right away and went for the starters. Their Charcuterie board was delicious and full,...their Escargot was light served on a plater not in the traditional shells. We all ordered and shared across the table: Croque Monsieur, Chicken Chiabatta, Gnocchi Parisienne and Steak Frites and all we could say was awesome! Had to finish with deserts: Creme Brûlée, Profiteroles and Sorbet, again nothing but raves as our server brought extra plates so we could share. Our server was a very people oriented lady who was very, very good at her job. The atmosphere and feel of the restaurant is the draw, comfortable but a little classy too. Great bar, great service and well worth the trip! No a bad area to walk around and shop after the meal too, go enjoy yourselves.More

We went for dinner and as usual, had a great experience. Our waiter was very friendly, dinner was excellent. We started with potato croquettes which were crispy and flavorful. My husband ordered Coq Au Vin and I had the Boeuf Bourguignon. Both perfectly cooked and...seasoned. We also decide to have a dessert and the crème Brûlée was the way to end the meal. They are following every recommendation of social distancing. Highly recommend.More

Service varies from below average to great, but the food has always been stellar. Tables are close so it’s not a romantic spot. Seafood crepes and onion soup are amazing. Profiteroles didn’t live up to expectations.
