I compared Baker's Dozen, Krispy Kreme, and Dunkin Donuts today. There is a clear winner. Friendliness: All three establishments greeted my family and were pleasant with my kids. Price: All three have basically the same price for a dozen non-specialty donuts. Baker's Dozen was the...cheapest and Krispie Kreme was the most expensive. Presentation: The winner here goes to Krispy Kreme because of the bright vibrant frosting colors and their donuts filled the box. Their box was also the smallest. Next was Dunkin Donuts in a slightly bigger box than KK, but you could barely tell the difference between the white frosting with sprinkles and the strawberry with sprinkles. Third was Baker's Dozen. There was so much room, the donuts were sliding all over the place. The glazed seemed normal size, but the sprinkled ones seemed small. Upon opening it, you felt disappointed, like didn't I order a dozen? Where are they? And then you count them. Baker's Dozen should get smaller boxes for their dozen especially since a baker's dozen here is non-existant. If you want a baker's dozen at Baker's Dozen you don't get that 13th for free. Hello! It's in your name! C'mon! We tasted glazed, strawberry frosting with sprinkles, and white frosting with sprinkles. Dunkin Donuts are more dense. Baker's Dozen's were airy, fluffy, more melt in your mouth. KK's are in the middle. Strawberry with Sprinkles: The strawberry one at Baker's Dozen didn't taste like an artificial strawberry. It tasted closer to the real fruit. The KK one had more emphasis on the strawberry frosting rather than the dough part. I was reminded of a fruity cereal taste. The DD strawberry was hard to tell it apart from the white frosting with sprinkles. It's more of a glaze than a frosting here. White Frosting with Sprinkles: The white frosted one at Baker's Dozen had creamy frosting like the frosting consistency from a Betty Crocker tub, but it wasn't quite there. I can't put my finger on it. It's like the aftertaste was off just a little off. The sprinkled ones were also smaller in diameter than the other two businesses. We did not try this one at KK. Instead we opted for their Birthday Cake one, which was a total waste of time and didn't taste anything like birthday cake. The frosting was as yellow as French's Mustard so that kind of throws it off too. I was surprised by the DD white with sprinkles. Initially, I liked it, but then once I ate more bites I didn't as much. Their donuts are more dense and maybe the ratio of the frosting to dough was off for my liking. Glazed: Oh.my.gawd. The glazed one at BD is soooooo good. It's airy. It's fluffy. It melts in your mouth. Your fingers don't get overly sticky when picking it up. Definitly get this one. The sizing was normal size too, not like their smaller sprinkled ones. DD's glazed is sticky, so annoyingly sticky. It didn't have much flavor and again too dense for me. KK's was a happy in-between. It was sticker than BD's, but not as much as DD's. I had more of a fried dough taste with KK too. Winner: Hands down the winner is Baker's Dozen. Besides it being local and costing a few cents less than the others, their donuts were far superior tasting than the others. Go get some today.More

Today I visited the donut shop after passing it by many times. I saw a fly buzzing around in the case with the donuts and I asked the staff where they had their NC Sanitation Score and Letter Grade (required by law) she first acted...oblivious to the fact that it’s required by law in all restaurants in NC. She then acknowledged that restaurants do have to have it but told me that it was none of my business anyway. I was shocked at the attitude I caught from this saleswoman OVER DONUTS. They must be doing a lot wrong to be so private over a sanitation score in a donut shop. I will definitely be taking my business to Duck Donuts for a cleaner and friendlier experience!More

When I visited the Baker's Dozen Donuts at Plantation Square (6320 Capital Blvd), I was a little disappointed with their selection. Most of the donut stores in Texas offer larger donuts and sell several types of kolaches.

Baker's Dozen is our absolute favorite! The apple fritters can't be beat and when you ask for a creme or jelly filled donut, they usually will fill it for you on the spot. It was an accidental find for our family, but one we make...a 20 minute drive to frequently because they are THAT GOOD! The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Oh, and when you buy a dozen, you get a 13th for free...putting the name Baker's Dozen to truth. :)More

Best Donuts in Raleigh! Staff is always appreciative and friendly. We go there about once a week and buy donuts for employees. Compared to Dunkin and Krispy, there donuts are a 10 and the others maybe a 3. The apple fritters are so good, they...ought to be illegal.More

This place is nearby enough that I have to stop myself from visiting daily! They have a good variety and they're reasonably priced. It's my go-to when I want a doughnut.

I ordered donuts form this donut shop on several occasions. They are my go-to for every meeting and event that requires donuts. We ordered donuts here for our churches Donuts with Dads event. They were a hit. Everyone asked, "Where did you get those donuts?"...These donuts are very tasty. I LOVE their apple fritters. Excellent costumer service. Bye Krispy KremeMore

Stopped here for breakfast before visiting downtown Raleigh for the day. There isn't much seating. The donuts were very tasty (we both had cake.) There is a variety of typical donut flavors. We were slightly amused and a bit taken back by a sign on...the register that said "Please do not lick your fingers before handing us money." It's a small mom&pop feeling place and the donuts were good.More

We stopped for gas and right next door was a small bakery. Of course we had to check it out. So glad we did. Large variety of filled doughnuts, huge cinnamon rolls and delicious bear claws just to name a few. So glad to find...this place since we enjoy camping down the road. It will certainly be a stopping place for us every time we are in the area. Try it. You will not be disappointed.More
