Great position on the square for taking in the architecture and people-watching! We (like most other customers) took the entree-plat formule which, as reported previously, has only 2 starters and 3 mains. However, we would have been happy with any of them, and shared: verrine of melon and fresh goat cheese, duck heart brochettes, bavette with great homemade frites, honey and mustard roast pork with polenta. With a half litre and 2 coffees, €36, top value. Willing and helpful service, with a little delay between starter and mains, when the restaurant was really busy, but we were not in a hurry. About 50 tables, virtually all taken at 1300 on Tuesday. Highly recommended!

The restaurant welcomes customers over a fairly large lunchtime slot compared to other restaurants. We were able to have lunch quickly, efficient and pleasant service. We were not disappointed by the lunch menu. The dishes were served to us quickly.

Fresh products, impeccable service and very reasonable prices for a restaurant ideally located on the pretty Mirepoix square. We had several dishes to share - this is the concept of the restaurant - including an octopus salad (the best I have ever eaten, perfectly cooked) and a tuna tataki (excellent). To recommend !

Great place Le Casti… good food and good drinks, on the beautiful medieval square in Mirepoix…
I had the crispy chicken goujons with frites and a Grimbergen beer. Lovely. People at Le Casti are very friendly too, makes all the difference.

Le Casti is a popular restaurant and bar on the main square. It’s a smart place with good service, and a pleasant place to sit and watch the world trundle past,

Mirepoix is a very touristy town - this restaurant has clearly decided to cater to people who want to return and have a great welcome and good meal. The menu choices allowed me (as a vegetarian) and my husband (as a carnivore) to enjoy tasty in-house prepared dishes. My risotto was lovely and the baked egg with lardons and carbonara sauce was delightful - we are going back tomorrow and highly recommend eating here. Great bar choices too - looks like it would be great to hang out on a cold winter night

We have visited Le Casti several times since it opened after months of refurbishment. It is clear that a lot of thought and effort has been put into making this accessible to all. Also the owners do take note of constructive criticism and the menus have changed as a result.
There are vegetarians in our family and they were delighted with the meal provided. As for my husband and I we have always had great service and enjoyed the food and drinks. I recommend the wine (Corbieres) and the cote de boeuf to share.

What can i say. This place was a major let down on a monday lunchtime. To make it worse I had family visiting me who likey left thinking all French restaurants are like this.
Food quality was poor. Two of our party are veggie yet best effort they could offer was mash, spaghetti carrot and a poached egg. All this for around €11. Seriously poor value. My father had roast chicken and salad. Again €11 with most of the chicken burnt.
Wine, at €6 for half a carafe was good, but really whole place was a major let down of the worst tourist rubbish you'd see in Paris.
If you're veggie don't even bother. If not, I'd seriously be concerned about quality. While we had the wine 'knocked off' the bill we wouldn't return.

We visited Le Casti on twice for lunch and on both occasions, the food was excellent and it was cheap. They do a 2 course menu for €14.90 (€16.90 for 3 courses).
The choice is restricted to 2 dishes per course but it means you get fresh local products every day at a very good price.
Obviously, the setting is amazing in the middle of the bastide in Mirepoix.

Dropped by for an evening apéritif and decided to try their small eats. Though not busy, they forgot to bring our drinks. The samosas “au curry” were well presented but had no curry or other discernable spices. Their mushroom risotto was only tepid and needs to be presented better. The chef stood outside smoking much of the time. Reasonably priced but we’ll not be rushing back.
They’ve spent a fortune on renovations which were well done but Mirepoix is very competitive and they’ll need to up their standard, especially service.
