If you want to eat with quality, home-cooked food, this is the right place!
The decoration is original and neat.
The owner is very friendly and has in-depth knowledge of the wines he sells (this is not always the case...).
For the cuisine, a varied menu but without an abundance of good things which is detrimental not to follow the well-known adage.
Warm, no-fuss dishes, unfailing value for money in these times.
To summarize, a very good address in Mirepoix!

We ordered the beef cheek with its mash and the leek gnocchi with parmesan cream. Both dishes were really delicious 😋. In addition to the meal, the setting is really charming and warm!
I highly recommend!
Thank you, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Our first visit after 20 years holidaying nearby. Lunchtime only and a limited menu but food and wine excellent. Very friendly service and small dogs welcome. The mixture of bric-a-brac, wine and local produce all added to a quirky but enjoyable experience and we’ll be back.

My wife had a trout that was well prepared and was happy about it. I was not as fortunate. The waiter brought me a glass of red wine without giving me any choice and the wine was awful. He then brought me another one which was good. I asked for my lamb chops to be pink. They came back raw, almost impossible to cut. I am definitely not going back to this place

So already the interior of this establishment is a nameless mess, too many things left and right, a decor that looks like a flea market in short...
Regarding the food, it's not bad, even good, and the ration is generous, not worth the price either, but I've had worse.
The friendliness really needs to be seen again, the so-called warm welcome from people from the South is just a myth eh... the boss is really very cold and does not accept criticism besides you just have to see the comments from here he does not thank the customers who have put good comments which proves his total lack of interest in his customers, he responded to a few negative comments either by threatening the risk of going to prison and paid a almond with number of the article of law or being very bad times with just 2 words.
In short, an establishment to avoid.

Very good meal but we were cold due to the front door which takes a long time to close. A cold draft chilled our legs and backs every time a new customer entered. Think about it... :-)

The wine selection is great and the proprietor knows them all and will happily match your taste. There’s no charge to drink bought wines in the restaurant, the food is typically local and good value too and the owners are friendly and helpful

We had a lovely lunch in the garden, served by a charming young lady plus the owner and a young boy! We chose a salad with warm goats cheese and a bœuf bourguignon. Both were excellent.
We chose a Muscat white wine as an aperitif, selected from a chalk board of carefully chosen wines to accompany the simple menu.
They know exactly what they’re doing here - home cooked, fresh food, simple menu but well executed.
If you go, visit the ‘comptoir’ inside and see the wines on offer.
Great place. We will return.
And if you don’t speak French, no worries - we heard the waitress speaking English to a couple nearby.

Our first lunch in France as we drove from Andorra to Carcassonne. We stopped in to this quaint wine shop and restaurant. The owner spoke a little English (thank Goodness!) so we inquired what folks at another table were having because it looked and smelled fantastic! It was Cassoulet Maison Confit and Viande Locale Mijoulee au Vin (both traditional French dishes do we ordered this as well as Stuffed Vegetables. All were superb! As was the wine, the service and the ice cream for dessert! There were also very clean bathrooms here. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Great shop/restaurant with great selection of wines for Degustation. We called in on a beautiful April Fools day afternoon for tasting (me) and coffee (my wife). Wine was nice and coffee was from a Nespresso machine.
Friendly host spoke only French.

Really enjoyed our meal here today. It was my hubbys birthday and I wanted somewhere we hadn’t been. Searched on trip advisor and found this little gem just 30 mins from home.
The food was beautiful. Service friendly and we loved the quirkyness of the place.
Will be going again very soon I think.

We had lunch in the lovely little garden here. The food and service were excellent. It's a one man show, the proprietor cooks, waits tables and sells excellent wine in the shop. It was not our first visit and we hope to return time and again.

I booked a table for four but expected there would be plenty of spaces. It is totally out of the tourist season. I was wrong - the place was about full. Always a good sign. The food was delicious and the service superb. Lovely warming cassoulet and beef stew. We all had a cafe gourmand afterwards. One of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend. Luckily we live five minutes away...

We eat twice at this restaurant one for dinner and once for lunch. The proprietor had changed since our previous visit but our experience of dinning at Le Comptoir Gourmand was just as good. My wife had the cassoulet and I had the lamb when we eat at lunch time and both meals were excellent. The host is a charming man and we enjoyed his sense of humour greatly. On Easter Monday we lunched here with our French friends and we increased from a table of four to a table of eight! Two couples either side of our table joined in wine tasting and chatting about everything! It was a fantastic experience. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the repartee. We sat in the garden for our meal and we were allowed to enjoy the whole experience. Le Patron even joined in to make it a memorable occasion. It's different and therefore we'd recommend eating there.
