The absolute worst ‘Mexican’ food I have ever had! Both my partner and I were unable to finish our meals due to how bad the food was! Both of our meals were dry, bland & overall terrible! If I could give this a lesser rating,...I would! The only thing this place has going for it is it’s location - that is it!More

Well, the Guacamole was good (but $10 extra), and the chips basket was refilled. The first draft beer I ordered was out, the second came 2/3 full, with the explanation that the barrel was emptied, and that the beer might not be good, so no...charge. (?) Why not taste it before serving it to a customer? The Chicken and Pescado tacos were OK, served with diced cabbage with no spice, sauce or flavor. Kids Chicken Nuggets were left uneaten after one bite, and we didn't take them home. Why bother? Service was uneven, with lots of "Everything OK?" I see why they ask.More

I should have known this was a bad restaurant from the start, when I had to ask the hostess for a table while she was sitting outside on her laptop! Waitress came over and didn’t even introduce herself. After a long wait, the kids got...impatient and I asked the waitress JULIE to at least bring us some chips. We then waited 25 minutes more just for our unsweetened iced tea to arrive! She was very rude and obnoxious when I brought the burnt chicken wings back to her because they were dry and still had some feathers on, and asked for our check. Instead of apologizing and fixing the situation she gave me a negative attitude. This restaurant has a slow kitchen and snails for servers! Waste of time and money. I also asked for a manager and she said “I am in charge today actually!” 😂 Good luck! Can’t serve 4 tables, imagine when this place gets busy? Paid in full for entrees we barely ever touched. Horrendous service, please teach your staff the standards of customer service and proper waiter etiquette.More

Food is really good. However service could be slightly better. Waiters don't smile. We had to ask for salt and hot sauce twice. Than when salt arrived after 5 minutes another waiter came and just took the salt off the table. No excuse me, no...are you done just took it and gave it to another table. Apparently restaurant has only 1 salt shaker. Also bathrooms were a mess. Sink facet moves from one side to another.More

The vegetable tacos and vegetales tacos (different dishes) were both very delicious! Not really Tex Mex or "authentic" Mexican style food - more modern/with a twist. Music was way too loud, but friendly staff and good atmosphere otherwise. The salsa they gave with the chips...was unusual - more of a blended sort of dip - but still tasty.More

Good Mexican spot in LIC, but it is very overpriced considering there is a GREAT Mexican food truck down the block.

I live fairly close and frequent this place mainly because of convenience, but after my recent trip with a friend who was absolutely appalled by the lack of service I'm not sure I'll be back. It wasn't particularly crowded or during typical restaurant rush hr...but the waitor and waitress responsible for our party were pretty terrible at their job. They spent the majority of our time there chatting away at the bar neglecting to feel empty glasses ( empty for nearly the entire meal!) and even went on to take an additional 20 mins to bring us a check after we'd had plates and other things removed by the bus staff. I will give the back of the house credit as our food was delivered quickly and unused items removed from the table in a timely manner as well. I've been frequenting Cantina for as long as I've lived in LIC but this might have been my last trip. :(More
