Knock out dining experience in the Leeu estate which is stunning. Food wine and service first class and of course the price is equally amazing when compared with London offerings these days. If you're in the area go, you won't regret it.

Great food and fantastic environment to let loose and unwind with your loved one’s. It’s a calm environment that’s enchanting
Unfortunately, our expectations, which resulted from the last visit 4 years ago and the current awards, were hugely disappointed. Firstly, the restaurant has a new location with a very noisy environment. The furnishings are very expensive, but are more reminiscent of a German old people's...or nursing home. The first course is served in a kind of waiting room with very uncomfortable seating before one of the tables that seems to be occupied several times at every meal time finally becomes free. The food was of high quality and sometimes exceptionally good, but I would strongly advise against the matching wines. Wines that don't go well with the food are served at extremely high prices. Of the non-alcoholic matching wines, only two are drinkable. the non-alcoholic beer and the two non-alcoholic wines are terrible. The service was also below average. More often, the staff were told that they couldn't understand them because of the noise in the room, but they simply recited the text they had learned by heart. Unfortunately, the cart with the sweets didn't come either, even though we had already paid. Overall, a very big disappointment. We love delicious food and good wine and are happy to pay accordingly, but we will no longer visit this restaurant.More
Amazing food, great presentation in an awesome environment. Already with the starters we were flabbergasted and as our host kept saying, it only will get better and it did
This restaurant is fantastic! Myself and one of the group had been to La Colombe before so we half knew what to expect. The other three girls were blown away and we all agreed that this was our best meal of the trip away! We...felt slightly rushed at the end and could tell the staff wanted to go home but other than that it was amazing. I think the wine pairing is slightly over-priced for what it is but it's a treat while in a country that is very reasonable the rest of the time!More
As always La Petite Colombe is a top notch experience. The best food one can eat, great service. It is indeed a fabulous fine dining experience for anyone who loves fine dining. Every detail is perfect. The wines are overpriced, that is for sure. I...write a review every year and cannot stress enough that the ambience is not the greatest. The chairs are uncomfortable, the place is always too cold due to heavy AC and it is very loud due to how the place has been built. It's the only thing that takes away from the amazing food.More
This place is very beautiful great atmosphere with their food nothing can ever go wrong I really enjoy their food very clean and great taste
This restaurant was right up there amongst the best tasting menu experiences we’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The location, set in a valley surrounded by dramatic mountains, was breathtaking. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and wines. They were also...so friendly and tuned into the atmosphere on our table really well. The food was wonderful; innovative and pleasantly surprising throughout. The wine pairings were pretty much spot on. The value-for-money was exceptional, certainly by London standards. Overall, brilliant.More
Probably one of my favourite restaurants in the world! Incredible grounds. Excellent food - loved the recreation of the olive. Catered for my coeliac allergy incredibly well. Wine pairing was delicious. Outstanding service!
Wonderful food and theatre, starting with activating our hand wipes (they kind of grew!) and 3 amazing morsels before we were even shown to our table. Really it was so exciting waiting for each tasty course, I couldn’t even begin to describe the flavours. The...staff work so hard - and there are so many of them. They are all so very friendly as well. I wish I could mention them by name. The location and the room is stunning too. This was very definitely a big splurge for us - clearly the clientele are very upmarket and took it in their stride.!! 🤭 I was like a kid in a sweet shop - in fact there were sweets served in stripy bags at the end. I just can’t praise the menu enough - clever chefs and a great team. Thank you.More
First visit to new venue having previously visited a few years ago. Have dined at its big sister( a treat for next week) too but this was up there with the best. A beautiful setting, great service from knowledgeable staff and the food just wow...with added wow! From the amazingly created snacks to the final mouthful just an abundance of delectably presented food. Theatre without being over the top. Michelin standard for sure and an overall great dining experience and evening, even if it did take us a while to exit the estate!More
Amazing elevated experience rivalling Michelin experiences in other countries. Art and grounds at Leeu estates are amazing to view. Highly tecommend.
Definitely the ‘icing on the cake’ (no pun intended!), in terms of my food experience during this Cape Town visit (although for consistency I would rate The Waterside higher). Just arriving on the estate and being welcomed into the restaurant was already pretty special. The...views are amazing, although coming in the evening we did not see everything to its full effect. We first had an aperitif and the hors d’oeuvres to accompany that was to die for! We had the chef’s menu and the classic wine pairing, it was just incredible what was put together, the flavours and the numbers of staff who presented it - captivating! It was expensive but an experience never to be forgotten. One of our group members won a ‘golden ticket’ (discount on another meal) from the sweet trolley but you could only use that in Franschhoek.More
It’s really hard to do La Petite Colombe justice with words because the art is in the cuisine and how do you translate taste into semantics? My husband, eleven year old son and I had Christmas lunch at La Petite Colombe and, although I hesitated...at the price, which was steep even by London prices let alone South African, it was worth every penny. This restaurant, the environment and the food are absolutely world class and the service is attentive and knowledgable without being stuffy and up itself. I’m not going to say too much about our ten courses because La Petite Colombe is theatre on a plate and I really wouldn’t want to add a spoiler. Suffice to say the food was original, flavours were exquisite and some of the entertainment was utterly unique. We had the classic wine pairing which was perfect. My son was probably too young and his palate too immature to fully appreciate the food and although the atmosphere was relaxed and we had the opportunity to explore the stunning grounds in between courses, I think the full experience was a little lost on him. There were no other children there during our lunch. That said, we were made to feel very welcome and children certainly aren’t excluded. He loved the sweet trolly! I just think at the price tag it’s probably a waste. It’s a wonderful experience. Franschoek is a classy town and in my opinion Leeu Estates and La Petite Colombe are the jewel in its crown. We can’t wait to come back.More
We had no idea it was possible to be this creative, and artistic with food, it was mind-blowing. Fantastic experience from beginning to end - a once in a lifetime meal. The food presentation is exceptional and the flavours and textures leave you wondering ‘How...do they do that?’More
