Awesome seafood takeout dinner! Fried flounder and stuffed flounder platters perfectly made with baked potatoes, French fries and the “best ever” homemade coleslaw! Must call ahead for the best seafood you’ve ever eaten!

I went down to Wildwood for a Memorial Day getaway, and let me tell you something: finding a good restaurant in Wildwood wasn't easy.
I walked the entire boardwalk, north to crest, that is over two miles long. Then I walked an extra mile or...two beyond that, to find the 'Shack.' Not because it was hidden in the woods, but because the dumb Apple maps didn't do me any good. One hour and a half walking in my flip-flops, this Shack better shake me up.
Once I had settled in the restaurant, I realized they were playing a selection of "Golden Oldies "in the background. Bonus!
Now, I'm looking at the menu, I see mussels, lobster rolls and, of course, crabs, this place is no joke!
A young friendly lady came to take my order, and I paused!!!! Oh, I forgot to mention a very little tiny detail: MY STOMACH WOULD TWIST IN KNOTS, every time I tried any kind of fish!!!! So, the nice little lady brought out the owner (Joe), to help me make a better choice. Joe and I talked for quite a while, we bonded over a fishy discussion!
I have never developed tastebuds for fish and I can't stand fishy fish, even though there was/ and still is a famous fish market in the city I grew up in. He guaranteed me, that would change, and it did!
I ordered a standard seafood combo: a huge portion of fresh-caught Flounder, 2 scallops, 2 shrimps, fresh clams, and the best crab cakes I've ever tasted. The combo included two choices of French fries, baked potato, homemade coleslaw or applesauce. This, um, Broiled Seafood Combo is highly recommended for those of you who have no idea what to order.
Eager for more fresh homemade sea catches? Try the flavorful crab chowder... No regrets!!!!More
We were a group of 8, 7 adults and one teen. The server was accommodating, provided truthful information on the food. And the food, was fabulous, the Cream Corn Chowder was so good I stopped on the way home for a quart. .
Been coming every year for 5 years when we come to wildwood. Food is the best around. Served in tin dishes and plastic cutlery and bottled drinks. Because you get what your paying for and that’s the food the owner is one of the nicest...guys around and the staff always smiling. The seafood is always fresh and cooked perfectly. We always leave with a smile.More
My husband I stopped in after finding this restaurant on trip advisor. It is a small place so if it is a busy time order ahead for takeout! The owners are very welcoming and made us feel at home. I read reviews about the owner...using inappropriate language. He is funny and REAL. Get to know this guy. He is genuine and what a sense of humor. His wife sweet and talk about hard workers. The food! The rolls fresh and amazing! The crab and corn chowder the best homemade I have ever tasted. We had broiled flounder, scallops, shrimp, clams, crab cake (the best), baked potato and their homemade cole slaw. The fish was so fresh! It was evident that it was fresh and purchased locally. Nothing frozen about what we ordered. I highly recommend but don’t complain in season if it’s packed and you wait bc you have been warned. Paper plates, plastic ware, foil take out pans. Hello! Have you eaten at a raw bar in Key West?!? Paper towels on the table and paper products make it the true feeling of eating out seafood without the fine dining experience. Corn on the cob!!! It’s the beach! Get your hands messy and enjoy! BYOB. See you in 2020!More
We went with a party of 8. The staff and owner were warm and welcoming. The food was fantastic! Scallops perfectly cooked, the crab chowder delicious, as were crab cakes and flounder. The sides were fresh and delicious (definitely try shack fries) It was no...frills but food this good doesn’t need frills — it is a do not miss in my bookMore

Thanks for taking the time to review us, we are glad you dining experience was enjoyable.
We called and placed an order for 8 people, and it took over 2 hours to get it, but the owner was very apologetic about the wait and gave us a $20 break on our bill. The lobster rolls were REALLY good, as was the...rest of our food. The actual place is very tiny for how much food they push out, only a few tables inside.More

Thanks for taking the time to review us, we are pleased that your experience with us was a pleasurable one, we will work on the time issue.
Food is OK, but you pay 5 star prices for no frills at all. Tight dining space. Our lobster roll had shells in it. Owner stands at counter and barks orders at his help, which includes family members, not cool.
