While visiting the area, friends suggested we have dinner here. The menu offers many selections, and there were several specialties on Saturday evening. The food was quite good and the servings were quite large. The service was good. Beware, though, that this is a BYOL...More

We were always looking for a great restaurant near Point Pleasant and finally found one. Not sure why we took so long to find it. All entrees were excellent. We wanted to try the soup but didn't want to fill up prior to the main...More

The poached Pear has outstanding food, with unique recipes loaded with layers of flavor. The garlic shrimp is actually cooked, topped with a creamy sauce with roasted pepper all resting on a bruschetta type piece of toast. The lobster special looks like something out of...More

My son made reservations to take me there for my birthday. I've wanted to try it for a while. He had to take an earlier reservation that we would have liked and while there, several tables ended up empty. Food was very good & would...More

The Poached Pear is the best kept secret on the Jersey Shore! The food is outstanding and the service is very professional. And it's a BYOB which is always nice. And they have a kid's menu ($12 for filet mignon - what?). Having been there...More

Casual, it is a nice place. I have seen jeans and tee shirt to nice slacks and collared shirt. Personally, slacks/khaki , collar shirt. Can't go wrong. Just give them a call, no posted dress code that I know of.

Appetizers and salads are between $10 and $16; main dishes are all in the $30s; dessert are $5 - 12. It's a BYOB, so you'll save there. The couple next to us ordered a few appetizers, no main dishes. I love that idea!
