Small shared plates, tapas style is right up our alley. The food was very good. There were a few things missing from the menu due to it being their last day open for the season. The roasted brussel sprouts were very good.
We chose to have dinner here because it’s one of very few restaurants that take reservations, and on a Holiday weekend that was helpful. A few words of caution- the menu here is quite small, and not for everyone - there were only 4 or...5 main entree selections, and nothing “kid friendly”. The entrees were overpriced for their size. The menu is broken down into snacks, small, medium and large dishes (the large are the entrees). The snacks and small plates were fresh and tasty. The entrees were just OK, and overpriced. The desserts were quite good. Mixed drinks were expensive as well - around $14. The service was very good, but the food took a long time to arrive. Overall, a decent meal, but not worth the price.More
Of course it's not on the beach, and you can't walk there from Stone Harbor, but it's a 7 min drive and well worth the it! They ahve basically 3 dinning expereinces with all the same menu- a quiet dinning room with white table cloths,...a noisy bar area, and an outside bar/ patio area. They have entrees but it's fun to do all the shared plates. We always needs 2 orders of carrots to make everyone happy!More
Food was good but very overpriced. My order was scallops with a salsa. Price $28.95 for 3 scallops. I had lunch at the Lobster House restaurant earlier in the week and had 8 delicious scallops with potatoes and coleslaw for $13.95.
Was less than impressed with The Establishment at 100. Visited on Saturday for an early dinner. We did not expect chic dining but were expecting a nice dining atmosphere. The photos are deceiving. I imagined eating at a nice casual outdoor area - not happening....It was a typical beach bar. The inside bar did not provide a better atmosphere-loud music-not the relaxing casual dinner we had envisioned. The dining room was small but it did have a slightly better decor. The food was good but nothing great. My husband ordered the soft shell crab special - one small crab which he had to dig to find. I had the tortellini with crab -again not much crab and very little vegetables. Also, no bread. Dessert was toasted pound cake with strawberries-which were mushy and frozen. Really - in NJ in June - can't splurge for fresh strawberries. I cannot recommend this restaurant-especially considering price. The owners need to decide - do they want a casual chic restaurant or a beach bar. It is very hard to do both.More
While we had been to The Establishment at 100's bar prior to eating their last September during Irish Weekend we had had no idea that their food was so good. We returned recently (November 2018) and their chef clearly has something going on as other...reviews are attesting. Given that the neighbors down in this stretch of the Anglesea restaurant and bar area can't boast of great food (Anglesea Pub is decent), people need to check this place out. It has a nice breezeway area outside with a bar and with this excellent menu more and more people should discover this "establishment".More
I love this place. Its a darn good thing they serve late, so some of us can get here after work. (8/26). Jillian = Outstanding service and menu suggestions. I had the sausage on a roll topped with cole slow. Had one extremely delicious spicey...tomatoes and melted cheese dish that is a winner.More
