This iconic venue had me in aw. Sadly i didnt make a reservation and was only able to sit and ear in the bar area but the service and food were some of the best i had. Actually the best prime rib i ever had....Thoughtful was that i got a small jar of seasoning as take away. It is a swanky venue with the glamor of the good old and i had a wonderful dining experience.More

Our dinner here was probably in my top 20 meals of all time. It was an amazing dinner and time. The place is obviously busy as we were only able to reserve a table for 515PM. Glad we did, there were already people waiting to...be seated when we arrived. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were transported back in time. The decor is right out of 60's Vegas. We were seated by Elvis' booth. The tables were close together but did not feel crowded. The wait staff was attentive and friendly (such a difference from our Cipriani a couple of nights before). They explained their role and presented the menus. Good cocktail and wine list. We ordered our food. Friend ordered the mushroom caps, Caesar salad and 12oz filet oscar. Wife ordered meatballs and Shorthorn. I ordered jumbo shrimp cocktail, Caesar and 24oz Porterhouse. We each ordered a side as well. I ordered the mac and cheese. It was just okay but did not take away from the rest of the meal as we loved everything else. The steaks were done perfectly while the appies were delicious. The Caesar salad was prepared tableside and was the best Caesar I have ever eaten. While eating our dinners, we saw some tables around us getting the Cherries Jubilee. The entertaining preparation presentation was all we needed to decided to each order them. And what a show it was. Amazing dessert! If I could give 6 stars I'd do it. I would estimate that dinner that night is in my top 5 Vegas meals (been there 54 times) and would recommend to everyone. Pity I can't go back in time and see it in the heyday!More

Excellent food, drinks, and service. It’s a splurge for most people, but it was worth every penny. The staff are very kind and make sure you are taken care of without bothering you. It’s a great restaurant for a special occasion.

Booked a last minute trip to Las Vegas to see Diana Ross in concert. We knew we had to have dinner at the Golden Steer. With no open tables, we sat at the bar and were greeted by Leo. Leo provided the same solid 5...star service we received last month. He was tentative and he personalized our 2nd experience. I order the Golden Steer and a Dirty Martini which I both highly recommend. I also came across an employee by the name of whom smiled and said hello. Once again I saw the General Manager, Jack talking to guests at different tables. Until we meet again Golden Steer.More

This was a FIVE ***** STAR place~ I went here with relatives and found out that none of my old school friends were here. We ordered Rib Eye steaks and they came without the crown. My cousin was shocked as he is a chef/ Instructor...at Escoffier's. His food was replaced but I was embarrassed as this never happened to me when I eat here. Maybe it was a bad night? Maybe I was sad that Fabian and the others retired? Perhaps I betterreturn and give it another shot!More

From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable, attentive and charming. The food was DELICIOUS. We went for the table side Caesar Salad, petite filet with lobster and bananas fosters, flambeed table side. The steak was the best I have ever had, and...I have had lots of steak in lots of fancy London and New York restaurants. The energy and atmosphere of the restaurant was such that I really felt the history of the place. Visit Golden Steer, you won't regret it!More

The oldest steakhouse in Vegas since 1958. Home to many famous peeps and known for prime rib, New York and filet. Dress code enforced, think old Hollywood vibe. Frank Sinatra in the house. But, really, people were dressed casual just no open toe, hat, tanks,...shorts. Although, I did see ONE guy wearing shorts. I got the 8oz petite filet mignon ($64) a side of lyonnaise potatoes ($12) and sautéed mushrooms ($12). Our table got escargot to share and table side Caesar salad ($17) per person. In terms of portion size, the 8oz was perfect cut and size for me. The sides could really be shared among 3-4 people comfortably not per person because it’s an entire plate. The salad was not worth $17 per person. We did per couple because it’s a huge plate that’s easily shared between 2 or even more. In terms of quality and taste, my medium 8oz had the best seasoning. Usually I need A1 but it tasted delicious by itself. Not many places make lyonnaise potatoes. In fact, I’ve only been to one other place and was not a fan. Hesitate to order it this time but I’m so glad I did because it was the winner of the night. They are thinly sliced pan fried potatoes sautéed with butter and onions. Yum!More

Fantastic dinner. Had reservations and sat in “Joey Bishop” booth. Next to Frank Sinatra booth, the best seat in the house. Extremely competent and friendly service. Table side Cesar salad, filet mignon, and the wonderful cherries jubilee (flambé tableside). Best filet I ever had, best...desert I’ve ever had. Old world charm…just fantastic in every way. Pricey and well worth it for a special dinner.More

Order the mushrooms burgundy - you will not be disappointed. When the staff found...out we were celebrating our anniversary, they gave us complementary dessert. It is nice to support a local establishment and not just another celebrity chef restaurant. If you are in Vegas, you need to visit the Golden SteerMore

My husband and I visited here on our honeymoon. We wanted somewhere a little more exclusive and off the strip. This absolutely did not disappoint. This place is a real sanctuary amongst the rest of the craziness of Vegas! All we could say was...wow. The...interior is beautiful and the nostalgia and history of the place is palpable the second you walk in. The service of the staff is unbeatable. They are attentive without being overbearing. My husband says it is the best steak he has ever had. Knowing it was our honeymoon, they treated us to a champagne toast and cheesecake. It is this level of detail that sets places like this way above others. We would give it 6 stars if we could! Definitely a 'must try' when in Vegas.More

Into: This was our first time and will be dining here every time we visit Las Vegas. Everyone has a different taste palate and it’s disrespectful for any individual to enter an establishment and believe they will change their policies/make an exception (hence the negative...reviews) - it’s impossible for the Golden Steer to have negative reviews unless you feel their policies don’t apply to you. My experience: We were greeted by the GM, Jack who held the door open while welcoming guests (4:30 pm/opening time) - though the website clearly states, asking for a booth but not guaranteed, we scored a booth inside the main dining area - wow! Servers work in teams of 3 and Spencer, James and Brandt provided 5 star service/vintage Vegas hospitality. Dirty Martinis out of this world - ordered tomahawk steak/medium rare, escargot, desert and disappointed I didn’t have space to continue eating ha! Truly the GM and family owned have an amazing system and it shows in their servers/service. Honorable mentions: Lalo, Waldo and Ali.More

Fantastic atmosphere and you can feel the history of the place as well as see it on all of the walls where there is a who’s who of autographed photographs. As for the food, it was the best steak I have ever eaten and the...sides complimented the meat perfectly. Cheap it ain’t, but you only live once and the whole experience is well worth the money. And just remember, if this place was on the strip, it would cost at least double.More

I heard great things about this restaurant and was not disappointed. We had made reservations and arrived on time. We were taken immediately to our table. Bread and butter were served immediately. Our server, David, greeted us and asked for our drink order, and provided...us with the drink order. We were given our drinks and had the specials described. My wife chose a filet mingon, I had the Prime rib, my Father the Lamb chops, and our daughter the chicken fingers. My wife also had the onion soup which was superb. The meat was tender, and plentiful. My fathers chops were so big he only had one ( the rest we took home). The wait staff and busboys were very attentive. The ambience was very manly with lots of woods and dark surfaces. The place is much bigger than it looks like from the outside. There is a dress code so read the code on the web site. The cost was not excessive but not cheap either. I recommend this for a good steak.More

The bar is an open area on high seats, standard seating is in a different room on either tables or in a booth. We were lucky enough to sit in a booth as requested and it was well worth it.
