This is a unique location in an old church in Brunswick Maryland that has been re-purposed into a great place to relax and have coffee and breakfast. The three of us all had breakfast sandwiches which were delicious. Interior is beautiful and definitely looking forward...to visiting again!More

The restaurant is a converted historic church, complete with stained glass, wood floors, high rafters and tin ceilings. They've furnished it with mismatched sets of chairs and tables, antique sofas and comfy lounge chairs. Very pretty and funky. For Covid issues, they have spread the...tables out and they disinfect them for you. Masks are worn and they are careful with contacts. The food was creative and tasted very good. Prices were very reasonable. Their menu is longish and varied. We'll be back.More

I want to love it. The building is beautiful, but the service makes this place disappointing. The coffee isn’t bad tho. I have been here twice, and both times I have felt like my presence was an inconvenience. I feel like maybe if they weren’t...understaffed on a Saturday morning they could be great! Good luck folks.More

I gushed about this place to my wife, took a one way bike ride out from DC and discovered it was a 40min wait in line and another 40min wait for food. A lot of inefficient buzzing about by waitstaff. If you’re hungry, don’t come...here until they get it together.More

Dear timc301, thank you so much for "gushing" about Beans in the Belfry and then for coming out for a visit with your wife. I do apologize profoundly for the wait time on Labor Day which ruined your experience. With such gorgeous weather many people...More

My husband and I followed purple signs of the highway and found this place. It is absolutely incredible. The ambience is incredible and the food was so good. apparently a woman bought this building and renovated it by herself over 3 years. She's done an...amazing job. Corey was working today and showed us all around and told us about all of the decorations. This is a definite must stop if you are in the area. we had the oatmeal and breakfast sandwich and they were delicious and the coffee is incredible.More

Wonderful old church being used as a little bistros. Great light foods, sandwiches, pastries, teas, coffees and has tables and chairs other than for eating. You can relax on one of the sofas and work on your laptop. There is WIFI available.

Imagine sitting in an old church eating lunch and hearing an employee scream out "Jesus F--ing Christ!!" This about sums up our experience at Beans in the belfry. This place literally drove us bats in our belfry. As we entered, I was enamored by the...cozy atmosphere and unique decorations. The menu hosted an assortment of great offerings and the taste of the food and drinks was amazing. The problem was the staff. After I ordered our food I dropped a couple dollars into an empty jar that ironically said "to ensure a pleasant dining experience: tip". Our experience was anything but pleasant. I asked if they had lemonade, the cashier asked an employee and they said yes. Fifteen minutes after ordering someone came to our table to inform us that they were out of lemon juice. We switched the drink and waited another ten minutes to get the drinks. It took 50, yes 50 minutes to get our food which was only sandwiches. The entire time that we sat there we heard a myriad of curse words, and temper tantrums from employees who also frequented in and out of the front door for smoke breaks. At one point my fiancé saw a girl drop a knife and yell "Jesus f--ing Christ" as she picked it up and put it back on the counter. The entire time that this went on a lady who was either a manager or owner sat next to us painting with watercolors as chaos went on around her. Occasionally an employee would stop by with a curse word laden string of complaints. Through all of this we were never offered an apology or word of condolence. We were polite as usual and every thank you that we offered wasn't even returned with a "your welcome". We drove over an hour to check this place out only to be epically disappointed.More

We don't make it to Brunswick often, but when we do we make a point to stop by Beans in the Belfry. This old church converted into a café is absolutely charming, with a wide open layout and rustic tables and chairs everywhere. They emphasize...breakfast all day (Coffee Beans, get it?), but they have a selection of sandwiches and salads to choose from as well. The Pangaea panini made with brie, prosciutto and melba sauce was really tasty. We are normally passing through in the morning, but I would love to make it to their happy hour sometime so I could try their extensive list of craft beers and wines.More

We enjoyed Sunday brunch at this quirky restaurant in an old church. Seating on pillow-strewn sofas was comfortable, and there was a pleasant jazz duo playing standards. The brunch, including soup, fruit, or salad, a main, and choice of desserts was great value. The eggs...benedict were very good, as were the lox and bagel platter. Coffee was good, and desserts were tasty. Newspapers were available for perusing. A very nice way to spend an hour or two if you find yourself nearby.More
