I tried their happy hour for the first time, and I think it's one of the better ones in Portland. I ordered several types of steamed, pan fried, and deep fried dumplings for $1.00 each, and they were all great. The Mai Tai on special was also pretty great.

I had one of their lunch specials, the Drunken Noodles with sides of a salad, two dumplings, and some tempura veggies. Everything was in a bento box. The meal was delicious and the portion was generous enough for me to take some home. The Mai Tai was great (they do have fantastic cocktails). I was surprised that the Mai Tai was a dollar more than advertised on the menu -- it's only a dollar, but it's the principle that matters. I mentioned it to the waiter and he said the cocktail "just went up in price". The menu should have reflected that because it was misleading and mistrusting. I'm still rating the experience excellent, though, because the food quality, atmosphere, portions, and service were great.

Excellent HH which we frequent regularly for the $1 dumpling selection and great value glass of SB and draft beer. Tried the house margarita too which is spicy and yummy. On this occasion we also ordered the drunken noodles which were quite exceptional with chicken. Thank you for being in our neighborhood with your HH and take care of Rachel she does a terrific job.

Perhaps this Thai restaurant caters more to the Western palate. As a Southeast Asian, I was greatly disappointed by the lack of authentic Thai flavors, especially given the high reviews and ratings. The food was mediocre, and surprisingly, I had to explain the condiment prik nam pla, which the server didn't even know. If you're Southeast Asian and appreciate genuine Thai cuisine, I would recommend avoiding this restaurant to prevent disappointment.

We really enjoy this bar for HH. the bartenders are always excellent and friendly (this time Caeden), and the delicious $1 dumplings are the best value in town. Thirsty Botanist on tap for $6 is a winner for me while my wife enjoys a reasonable SB at just $5.50. Thank you for taking care of us east side locals so well

Second visit and both have been wonderful. Fresh, crisp, made to order, timely, flavorful, each dish has been wonderful. The pineapple fried rice has so much stuff! It’s great. The red curry is spicy without losing a bit of flavor and full of wonderful fresh veggies. The shrimp were perfect size and cooked perfectly also. Dumplings are so good and not doughy or starchy service is prompt, knowledgeable, friendly. Great atmosphere, it’s so nice to be in a restaurant where everyone cares about putting out amazing food.

We ordered food to go online. The system worked very well. The restaurant was very busy. Katie was helpful and swift with the food order prepared and the payment processed. What we took home to eat was fabulous. Crispy rolls, Drunken Noodles and the star of the show was Thai Noodle Soup with beef. The menu is not inexpensive with the aforementioned soup costing $27, but the quality is superb.

Most of Portland's Thai restaurants have the same menu: red curry, green curry, yellow curry. None are bad, but few stand out. Dok Mali aims to be more authentic, and on my two visits, I tried seven of their dishes, few if any of which appear elsewhere here.
Everything I had was good, but the only outstanding dish was the mango and sticky rice dessert. It's favorite dish of mine, and this is he best I have ever had, maybe because using purple sticky rice is unusual, but the taste was also superb. It was fun to finally find larb and green papaya salad in a Thai restaurant, and the second of two versions of pad thai on the menu (which I tried) was a step above pad thai elsewhere.
But something was missing to make the dishes I tried exceptional. One odd approach of the restaurant is that on the second occasion (and may be on the first, but I do not remember), I was not asked for a preferred level of hotness. Nothing was remotely spicy on either occasion. The larb, papaya salad and drunken noodles all seemed somewhat under-seasoned apart from the absence of pepper, though I enjoyed both of them.
I found myself wishing the menu were a bit longer, but that may be unrealistic. It was difficult to find thinks I wanted to eat, especially on the appetizer list. We tried the dumplings (chicken) which were pleasant but bland, and the corn fritters which were better but not a standout.
There is a fairly extensive list of creative craft cocktails, though they all seemed a bit on the sweet side for me. We did not try them because the credit card system had crashed on the night we dined, and we did not have enough case to include tasting them.
It may matter to some people that the restaurant is probably very noisy if filled for dinner. The evening we were there, there was a table of about ten people whose loud conversation made it difficult for my wife and I to converse. The restaurant was very quiet at lunch.
Dok Mali is also a bit on the expensive side for a Thai option. Our dinner of two starters, two entrees, dessert and tip came to $100.
This not an easy location for parking. It is fine if you dine early, as we did, but at lunch and after six it may be harder. There is a paid ramp around the corner, but $8/hour is a bit stiff, and their entirely mechanical pay system was not easy to negotiate. My parking at lunch cost more than the meal.
The staff couldn't be nicer, and the restaurant is very much worth a try.

Went in for HH, 3.30-5pm, sat at the bar. HH wines good enough at $5.50 and beers at $6 a good value. Best of all are the snacks at HH, especially the $1 dumplings. A superb variety of tastes, we sampled a mixture, each delicious. The wings are not on the HH menu but are served in a yummy spicy sauce. Bunna is a very good host/bartender. We will return

First-time visit. I got one of their luncheon specials - coconut yellow curry that came with rice, a small salad, two dumplings, and tempura vegetables in a Bento box. Everything was very good. Their sour strawberry craft cocktail was especially good. They have dumpling flights! I've had beer flights, ice cream flights, margarita flights, but never dumpling ones. Their menu has other intriguing items in addition to the usual Thai fare.

Ordered the scallion pancakes to start, which didn't have any scallions.
The Pad Kra Pow was sickly sweet, overpowering everything else. Lacking was the taste of any fish sauce, oyster sauce, or garlic.
Oh, and the music - which Thai restaurant has SOUL music playing?
Little wonder that we were the only two customers there.

Had a fantastic dinner consisting of the Dumpling Flight with 14 dumplings that we always find delicious and tasteful!
Husband had the Chicken Satay with peanut Sauce and I had the spicy chicken wings! All yummy and enjoyable.
Service was quick, efficient and with a smile! Highly recommend this lovely establishment

Dok Mali delivers flavor and fun every time!! The vibe is welcoming and beautiful; you feel at home. We had two of the many (delicious sounding) special offerings. We started with the BEST dumplings we've ever had and
they were gluten free AND vegan! And followed with the vermicelli with chicken and shrimp which was exceptional and spiced to perfection! Our drinks were so yummy especially the strawberry cloud!!! The owner,
Nonglack, has created a very special gathering place with food as authentic as she is. Can't wait to go back!

First visit today, won't be our last. Everything was delicious. We tried two different dumplings - pork gyoza and blossom dumplings. They were very different from each other and very tasty. I've never had a dumpling quite like the blossom before, wonderful filling, great presentation. Then we shared drunken noodles (the texture on the noodles was perfect) and the salmon in the coconut curry sauce. We finished everything! This is a new place, very attractive interior, good bartender. Nice to have another excellent option in Portland.

Our meal was fine, but it just doesn’t meet the caliber of the Portland restaurant scene. It had your standard Thai fair with lots options on the menu, but I found the vegetarian options lacking flavor unfortunately, but my partner enjoyed the meat options. The drinks were okay, a bit of a sweet drink mix flavor. It’s fine, but I wouldn’t choose it over the other exceptional Asian restaurants in the area.
