Had a few hours to wait prior to an event and this place was recommended. Restaurant has lots of space and seating and a huge bar. Menu was large but I didn’t see a chimichanga meal or a California burrito meal which are my mainstays....I ended up getting steak fajitas and they were very good. Prices are much better than in the Des Moines area and serving size was very large. A pleasant surprise is free cheese dip with nacho chips and salsa. It was very good as well.More

Cute place with a friendly staff and a great strawberry daiquiri. We both ordered the Carne Asada. It was seasoned well but very thin, making it hard to serve medium rare. This caused the meat to be a bit dry. The accompanying beans, rice and...guacamole was presented well and help save the steak. I would definitely go back and give it another try but I would try another specialty dish.More

We stopped in for a late lunch after riding our bicycles up from Des Moines. The food was fantastic. I had the enchiladas verdes, and my wife had arroz con camer ones. Both were terrific. The service was excellent. A perfect respite from the trail.

Food was good. Service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes to order and another 30 minutes to get the wrong food. The waitress approached the table apologetically and asked if I’d take what they made instead of what I ordered. I reluctantly agreed because I...didn’t have another 30 minutes to wait for the right thing. I asked for a side of beans (the item I originally ordered came with beans) thinking this was a fair concession. At the end of the meal we asked for a to go box, and waited 10 minutes for her to bring it. In haste, I handed her my credit card to run the check. I should have looked at the bill first. They charged me for the menu item they made in error as well as the side of beans. They messed up, acknowledged they messed up, and then charged me more than I would have paid had they gotten the order correct in the first place! Awful experience. Aside from the order error and the way they handled it, it shouldn’t take an hour and a half to eat dinner at a Mexican restaurant at 445pm on a Sunday. I won’t be back.More

We were a group of nine who had dinner at this nice Mexican restaurant. The choices were excellent with more options than many similar restaurants. Service was fast and they constantly checked on our needs. Their full bar offered wine, beer and margarita's.

Very large interior from what looked like a small place from the outside. A spicy salsa and the white cheese did was good. The chips were OK. I had the #7 lunch two beef enchiladas with beans and rice and she had the #22 lunch...tostada. The rice was really good. We both thought that the entry was bland. However, they did have Modelo Negra on tap! Service was good. The rest room was a one room combo women/men handicap.More

We stopped here over the lunch hour during a long bike ride on the Raccoon River trail. We were hungry and thirsty. The room is big and nicely decorated. We were seated immediately and served warm chips, salsa and a cheese dip. All tasted quite...good! There’s a solid beer collection, including Dos Equis on tap. The big glass was really big - I’d guess 24 ounces. A nice frosted mug. It didn’t last long. Lunch came promptly and was delicious. We were both favorably impressed and if we lived closer to Perry, this would be a regular stop.More
