My husband and I found this bakery on our cross country trip and loaded up on pastries, cookies, salad and sandwiches for the road. Everything we purchased was quite good and the selection of baked goods and breads was impressive. The only issue we had...was that communication between us and the sales clerk was poor, mainly because the acoustics are not good when it's crowded and also because you can't understand anything when someone is trying to talk underneath a mask and over a plastic barrier. We've been in a lot of bakeries across the country on this trip and to be honest, this bakery had the most over-the-top fear procedures for Covid that we had encountered. What we purchased was good, but we couldn't wait to get out of there.More

Decent pastries, served cold. Overpriced coffee; don’t try to order anything outside their list - person taking the order can not comprehend no matter how many times you explain and barista will get the coffee order wrong. Poor service.

Favorite bakery in Des Moines! The rhubarb is the bomb! If you haven't been, be sure to make it a stop on your next visit.

Wow, oh wow. Their pastries are amazing. Must get there early though. Between the time I order to the time I left, the majority of them had gone. There were so many good looking pastries that I can't wait to go back and try more....Gluten free dessert options include a power bar and macaroons.More

The food was good, it was just kind of annoying that nothing was labeled. On the large table of pastries, there’s a list of what is on the table, but nothing directing you to what pastry is what. The packaged items in the coolers were...appealing to the eyes, but again, no labels indicating flavor. This would be incredibly helpful, especially when it comes to food sensitivities and allergies.More

This is our favorite breakfast spot in Seista Key. Get the Brie and orange marmalade croissant. My mother in law loves the gluten free crepes. Great customer service!

If ya just need a super cinnamon roll or calorie infested treat this is the place to land your plane. Delicious treats of all sizes and shapes. Biggest problem is finding a parking spot in front (although there are plenty of places in back). Lots...of options for whatever ya need to start your day.More

European style pastries galore are available and delicious at La Mie and their coffee drinks are great. We've also had good sandwiches and soup for lunch and the service is fast. Our usual plan is eat a pastry with coffee at the bakery and take...a box with some extra choices to enjoy and share at home.More
