The concept is "sustainable". Hardware Gastropub grows vegetables in their greenhouse. They get their water from their own well/aquifer. They have a small orchard for fruits and nuts. We went for lunch, and as such, everything was very fresh. The turkey pastrami sandwich and bison...burger were great; fresh meat - and given the time of year, freshly harvested vegetables. They have fantastic goat cheese and bread with hummus, tomato/jalapeno relish, and a garlic/onion taste that doesn't overwhelm. It is healthy food yet filling. Service was fast, attentive, and answered questions easily.More

Amazing farm to table food, 3 out of 3 times we have been there. Burrata changes every week and it’s always good. Smoked Gouda tart is delicious. Sandwiches on sourdough are delicious, including the Turkey pastrami and the best BLT I ever had. House beers...are great.More

We have been to Hardware many times, but this is our first review. Our visits to Hardware typically begin and end in the same way. We enjoy dining outside on the patio, despite the noise on Orchard Road. The service is consistently top-notch and food...arrives on-time as ordered. Our favorite menu options are: Medium Charcuterie Board, Fried Brussels Sprouts, Wagyu Flat Iron, House Made Ravioli, and Vegan Risotto. We feel lucky to have such a consistently good restaurant 5 minutes down the road.More

This restaurant was on my list for quite some time and we finally made our reservation on open table and tried it out. As you walk up, they have a nice outdoor patio seating area. For starters I recommend getting a Charcuterie board. We had...the three meat and three cheese with one extra meat. We then ordered the brisket tacos and pork tenderloin. I must say everything was EXCELLENT!!! Such a treat! I can’t believe I waited as long as I did to try this place! Definitely highly recommend!More

Their menu offerings were very different then what I was expecting. Things were a lot more basic then I was expecting. They do not over do meal presentation or flavor opulence. They seemed to create an entree with its more basic parts and prepare them...exceptionally well. The presentation will not be stunning, but the flavors will be very good. As the HARDWARE name implies, the basic stuff to build something, they offer the basic entrees prepared quite well. And Beer.More

Love this place from the drinks to all the food options. This past dinner with our party of 4 we dined on 3 apps and 4 entree’s, 2 desserts and split them all. The apps were the goat cheese, poutine and teriyaki rib tips- all...were delicious! Entree’s were the duck under glass, skirt steak, pork tenderloin and the house made linguine ragu. All were so tasty and excellent. Dessert was the charcuterie dessert and the apple tart equally yummy. The service was excellent . They take pride in keeping everyone safe and their 4 seasons patio is warm and socially distance if you worry about that with plenty of air flow.More

What a treat! This place is conscious about Covid and the experience and food was amazing. We started With teriyaki bacon and it was amazing. Watermelon was great with bacon. Who knew! The wine and beer options were very good and they offer flights and...individual glasses. I had the vegan risotto and my husband had pasta with duck sausage. We loved our entree and the coffee was very good. We had strawberry shortcake for desert. Everything is fresh and lots is grown on site. We will be back!More

My boyfriend and I ate dinner there on Friday night. We love interesting foods (prep and presentation) and we were looking for somewhere new. We also read the reviews and saw that this restaurant came highly recommended. We were excited about the following: the greenhouse...with lettuce and herbs, hops garden, meats and sausages prepared/cured onsite, brewery on site, multitude of whiskeys, repurposed materials in the dining room. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Sadly, there were a few things we were disappointed in. The hostess (person who first greeted us) seemed to be having a bad day although she did great us professionally. I'm not sure who the man at the podium was, but he was a bit more pleasant, but wasn't much interested in our being there either. Finally, our server also seemed to be having a bad day and had zero sense of humor. Both of us have worked in the industry in various capacities, so we definitely want to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, like I said, we were excited to try this new place - with great reviews - and our enthusiasm was deflated within the first 15 minutes of being there. We ordered the charcuterie/cheese board and it was tasty. All offerings were local, which is a nice touch. The bone marrow was good, as well, however, only one of the two sides of the bone had any marrow in it. The Wagyu steak was cooked properly and tasted good, but was not as high quality of a meat as we have come to expect. The rice (under the steak) was under cooked and crunchy. The duck breast (under glass) was chewy. Duck breast is one of my favorite meats and I've ordered it often at other restaurants. It was pretty disappointing. The "hash" or veggies underneath were delicious, however! There are no cracker offerings (for the cheese/meat board) that do not have nuts in them. We were offered a hamburger bun as a substitution. Although it was a nice gesture, it is not the same. Nut allergies are quite common and it is my opinion that there should be other options. My cocktail was delicious and the beer was also pretty good. We really wanted this to be a place that we could add to our rotation of favorites, but it won't be. I would say for the price the experience was mediocre. Lastly, I know that we should have spoken to someone about these issues while there, but I did not feel comfortable doing so, based on how we were greeted initially. I hope that this was just a one-off evening and that they continue to improve. It is a great concept and I do wish them the best!More

Excellent service ,staff even during "Pandemic " . Temperature taken at door entrance, seating is spaced, one use only menus. All staff wearing masks and gloves. 5 of us, a Charcuterie Board and the Bone Marrow for starters. I'd like to suggest "little placards "...or flags to remind people what's on board. Its chefs choice. Forgot their names. Several cheeses, meats. A Bison burger, Smoked BLT, Shrimp Ceasars salad, The Hardware "Rachel "(like a Reuben) And homemade chips and fantastic smashed fried Yukon potatoes. I loved those. They grow all their produce, greens on site. Lots of whiskeys, beers and mixed drinks to choose from. Our server "Tara" was great. Very friendly, knowledgeable.More

The appetizers were great a board and the goat Cheese. The bison were very good cooked perfectly. My wagyu steak was cooked just right and the flavors were great; but it was a bit tougher than what I would expect. The deserts also very flavorful.

I would say that this place is not inexpensive and there is no kids menu. I have yet to see any kids there. I would call to see if they high chairs or booster seats and that would answer this for all. Organic foods are... More
