This place looks too small to have room for a buffet but the do ! Granted it is a small buffet but plenty of Italian goodness to be had....salad bar...a few soups to choose from...pasta....chicken....fish....eggplant....and dessert ! And to top it off....all at a good...price !More
Ordered pizza for delivery at 6:18 Sunday evening. By 7:30, when the pizza had NOT arrived, we phoned to inquire. We were told the order was STILL in the making and it would just be another 20 minutes. At 8:30 the pizza arrived. Yes, it...was hot. Was it good?! Not really sure. By the time we got it we were all so hungry we would probably have been happy with a frozen pizza. We thought for the inconvenience of the 2 hour wait they would have given us a free pizza, or an appetizer or something. NOPE. Nothing. We will not be returning. It is apparent they are doing fine without our business, and they don't care if we return. What a shame, too, as we are fairly new to the area and were looking for a 'go to' pizza place.More
Traveling through O'Hare had to spend the night and found this via Yelp as a possibility to eat at. When I arrived the place was empty, which made me stop and rethink my being here, however I sat down and after that it became quite...clear why this place was recommended to dine at.
The service was impeccable, yes being the only person in the place at the time may have tipped my feelings, however the phone was ringing off the hook for take out orders so they were busy there.
Anyways, the food is homemade, you can tell by the quality and flavor of the ingredients when you eat. Nothing I ate came out of a jar or was previously frozen and thawed.
This is a definite do-over next time I have to pass through O'Hare.More
Always enjoyed the southern Italian type of food. When we arrived we noticed the original owners were not around. We asked our server and she told us they had sold their recipes and one of the chefs was still in the kitchen. Pizza was very...good as always. Pasta sauce did not seem as good as I remember and that is why I only gave them four stars.More
Pizza excellent as always. Pasta sauce not as I remembered, not bad, just seemed like the flavors not as robust as previous visits. Waitress must have been new but not terrible. Meal was enjoyable enough and I would give them another chance.
We visited Giannini's last Sunday for our 45th wedding anniversary and I must say we were throughly impressed with both the quality of the food and the exceptionally warm and gracious service we received. Our party of 18 had a wide range of dishes and...everyone was impressed with their tasty authentic Italian choices, such as baked lasagna, chicken francese, gnocchi in vodka sauce, ravioli with meat sauce, etc. The thin crust pizza I tried reminded me of the original Chicago style pizza that was prepared at the same location years ago as Pete's Pizzzeria, my father's place in the 1960's-1980's. I would definetly recommend Gianni's for an exceptional Italian dinner to everyone! Salute Gianni's!More
This is Italian food done right. We ordered several dishes on this visit and they were all very tasty. The minestrone soup was especially delicious. Even ordered a small pizza as an appetizer and the thin crust was the right kind of crispy, sauce not...too sweet and the other toppings were fresh and plentiful. The best part of our meal was the delightful service from the staff. We will visit again soon!More
