Excellent hamburger lunch in smart but relaxed setting with great service. This place is well worth a visit just for the quality of the food and service and its location opposite Millennium Park and the Art Institute is an added bonus for a tourist.

We had late dinner reservations but since our flites all got into Chicago early and we were ready to eat, we walked over and asked if they could take us at 5:15 instead of our scheduled 7:30 pm, and it worked out great. We had...shrimp cocktail (fantastic!), mussels, and beet salad. Then we had halibut and twice baked potato as side as well as creamed spinach. That was one fantastic main course. Other person had bison burger. For dessert we split 2: tres leches (my favorite) and a chocolate dessert. Also excellent drink selection. The service could not have been more attentive. The whole meal was one of the most pleasant in years.More

To call it a gastropub is selling it short. Excellent food, ambience, service, bar. Wonderful location across from Millennium Park and AIC.

They don't take reservations past 9 PM. They don't belong on TripAdvisor's list of late night Loop restaurants.

Great location on Michigan avenue across from Millennium Park. The restaurant is warm and inviting with a great bar in front and a dining room in the back with views of the food going out. Lots of great food selections. My favorite was the poutine,...but careful, it's a meal in itself. Outstanding service and reasonable food prices.More

My wife and I went twice to this restaurant. It is well located and as you enter you are greeted by wonderful staff who will arrange your seating. Unfortunately, I did not remember the receptionist’s name but she arranged for exactly what we asked for,...a quiet comfortable table. The food and service was great, very friendly and yet still professional. Oh yes, the toilets were the best I’ve ever had the need to visit. Best of all the bill wasn’t too hefty.More

I have enjoyed meals at The Gage for several years - they have remained very consistent with their food and service. The Gage is located right on Michigan Avenue - directly across from Millenium Park. It's a handsome place - but still welcoming. There is...a nice bar at the front. Service is excellent: refined but still very personable. On this visit I enjoyed the Beet Salad and the Steak Frites. Both great. My steak was prepared exactly as ordered and the frites were crispy and delicious.More

Booked this restaurant based on its Michelin rating and proximity to our hotel. Did not disappoint. Enjoyed a great cheese plate, burger, salad and dessert (in photo)~deconstructed Boston Cream Pie

This was my first meal in a Loop restaurant in 2 years ago, when it used to be one of my preferred restaurants for business lunches. I ate lunch there yesterday with a family member, following an outing to the Art Institute and was delighted...to find that it had barely changed. The room was pleasantly full. The service was attentive and friendly. The lunch menu consisted a variety of choices of soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I've never thought of The Gage as a "destination" restaurant but it is an excellent stop for a refreshing meal if you are in that area of the Loop.More

LOVE The Gage. Perfect place for drinks & delicious food after Art Institute. The bar area is beautiful & cozy in cold weather- in the spring/summer/fall outdoor dining is great. Fried pickles, cheese platter, so good- but I have never had anything I didn't like...here. Very good service also.More

I don't recall them as having valet parking, however, you could call or email them; there are at least three parking lots/garages within about a block of their location. Google-it.

Hi, they do accept walkins, but it is a popular place especially at lunch and it is near the museum and theatres, so it will likely be busy for dinner as well. I would suggest calling ahead
