First class service, great wines, and comfortable ambiance, make thus a worthy pre-theater restaurant. Of the two entrees we had, one was great (the Veal) and one was too salty ( Pasta Vongole). The Tiramisu was perhaps the best we’ve ever had.

Atmosphere was warm and inviting, service was exceptional, cocktails were generous, and food was fantastic. Pricy but worth it.

Beautiful restaurant, feels like an old Chicago atmosphere. Our server was also the bar tender and did an excellent job at both. The food was outstanding especially the Rigatoni and Veal Marsala

Exceptional service in a small busy fun restaurant very near the art institute and millennium park. Food is very Italian very good and very well thought. Fresh made pasta is outstanding. The misto frito disappeared quickly. Apple salad is superb. Gnocchi with short rib was...comforting and a brutal work week. Wine list is short but extremely worthy of exploration. Somm is on his game (as are front and back of house). Bar is a great place to sit for cordial and kid service and their old fashioned is the best I’ve had in some time - exceptional spirits make exceptional cocktails. Highly recommended.More

It was New Year’s Eve, we decided to go to Chicago on the last minute and finding a restaurante to have a good meal without breaking the bank wasn’t very easy. Acanto had only 1 slot available to make a reservation and we d coded...to risk it. We were all pleasantly surprised!!! It was a pre fixe menu for the night with 3 courses and dessert. We were 3 and we had the grilled octopus, cheese torta to start, pappardelle, truffle risotto and mushroom cappelletti for second course, beef tenderloin and veal osso bucco for the third course. The isso bucco was the only dish that didn’t amaze us, everything else was perfect.More

After a delayed trip, we were in need of a good dinner. The restaurant looked like a true Italian and it was indeed. The food and the wine were delicious. Good advice and very helpful service with our family. Thank you!

I just walked into this restaurant, because it looked original italian. I had some great Black Pepper Rigatoni and an excellent espresso. Just what I needed for a great dinner.

We stopped by to have a leisurely lunch at the upscale Italian restaurant. The server help guide us through the menu and wine list with good suggestions. We shared the generous pear salad and followed with lamb sausage rigatoni , seafood spaghetti, chicken piccata, and...ravioli. All delicious. We filled with good coffee; the ending to any great meal.More

This was an amazing experience. The athmosphere was relaxing, and service was amazing. I had the spicy capprichese pizza and it was delicious. My mother had the mushroom pizza and I felt that it was better than my own. Exceptional food. We went on to...have dessert and it was incredible. We had the tiramisu, and it was one of the best I have ever had. I would come back any day of the week.More

If your children are well behaved and stay at the table yes...but it is a relatively small place and if they tend to be loud or need to move about I would say no.
