I have never had such poor customer service at a restaurant. My friends and I came to this restaurant to celebrate my pregnancy and gender reveal tonight and when ordering I asked the server if I could have a margarita without the tequila. She said...blankly “no- we don’t serve drinks without alcohol.” I was surprised and said oh ok so they’re all pre-mixed (assuming alcohol was already part of the drink)? She said “no- our manager says we cannot serve drinks without alcohol.” I said ok but I’m pregnant and will pay the regular price can you just have the bartender withhold the alcohol so I can celebrate (the rest of our party had ordered their drinks). The server said she would ask the manager. She came back and said “the manager says we don’t serve drinks without alcohol.” So I asked to speak with the manager trying to explain that I’m not trying to jip them money because I want an alcohol free drink- I’m literally celebrating my pregnancy. I waited over 30 minutes and no manager ever came. I asked our serve multiple times for the manager and she said the manager is busy. One time she even pointed to the manager who was rearranging the patio. The manager just blatantly ignored me. Eventually some young gentlemen came out- didn’t explain who he was but said it was the restaurant and the owners policy to not serve drinks without alcohol. So I asked for the owner’s contact information. At this point we were almost done with our meal, and I just wanted to simply understand why a pregnant woman couldn’t get a drink without the alcohol. Mind blowing. The guy blew me off, the server kept ignoring my request and at the very end said we don’t give out the owner’s info. I said I can’t have the general restaurant’s email for issues and concerns? She said no and that was that. I have never felt so disrespected as a patron and as a pregnant woman. Spend your money at another one of the amazing local restaurants who are much kinder to their customers.More

Very good and authentic Mexican food. The margaritas were very good as well. The welcoming staff was friendly and seated us immediately. Our server, Carin, was particularly friendly. She and our 12-year old son became fist-bumping besties immediately. She answered our questions and took our...order and checked back with us often. Good family dinner.More

The food is excellent. The ambience and atmosphere are excellent. The service, although they are nice, is pretty weak. Having waited tables and bartended for years, I have a certain understanding about the food service industry. I understand it’s 9:00 PM and you close at...10. But you don’t sit down and do side work and talk to your coworkers and neglect your customers. When the restaurant is slow, a customer should not have to wait 15 to 20 minutes for an alcoholic drink. I loved the guacamole side dish, but it’s different. I’ve never had anything like it. It was great, but that should’ve been explained to me. The wait staff culture did not seem to be “customer first“. I would blame this on weak management. That’s a shame, because as I said, it’s a cool place with great food!More

This was my first time to eat at Zapata Tacos, and I will definitely be back. I had Maya 2 (combo with soup and sandwich). The Azteca soup was AMAZING! It’s a hearty tomato based soup with a generous amount of cheese and avocado. It...was perfect for dipping the sandwich. The flavor in the soup was complex and delicious. The salsa was fresh and tasty. Service was great. Quick and attentive. My friend had the special burrito and liked it, but I think my dish was better. He left stuffed. I left feeling great. The only downside is that it’s a little small and can get loud, but don’t let that discourage you. I’d probably go here with adults and older kids but maybe not little kids. Big bar, although I didn’t use it...this time.More

The food is great! It’s authentic Mexican food. The alcoholic drinks are delicious! The service could be better but I still will go there every now and the for either lunch with my coworkers or on a Sunday afternoon with the family.

Busy Saturday night and we were fortunate to find a table. The waiting staff were patient, considerate and brought our choices quickly. Water glasses were refilled immediately on their own initiatives or at our requests. The food was superlative and the portions large so all...of us were well satisfied. I had the Enchilada Verde, white shredded chicken with a lemon tasting sauce coupled with rice and refried beans. When we return to Norcross, we will certainly come back to Zapata Tacos.More

First time to visit this local establishment and we will be back. Service was quite good and friendly. Food was as authentic as can be found in this area......no TexMex. Atmosphere was what you want in a local restaurant......makes you feel like you know everyone.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on this past Saturday evening. The place is small and cozy, but there is a bar with ample seating and there is a pretty good amount of seating in the restaurant. The waiters/waitresses and very friendly. We...tried the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was delicious. It was fried lightly to perfection. The batter is light and crispy and topped with freshly sliced jalapeno peppers. You can remove them if you desire. The dipping sauce they pair the calamari with is nice and the portion serving was ample for two adults. Try the El Mulo, it's an alcoholic ginger drink and it will not disappoint. We tried the shrimp quesadillas and the red snapper, both of which were well cooked and extremely satisfying. The staff makes sure your drinks are filled and consistently ensure you have a great dining experience. The parking is located a few spots down, in the second parking lot. Be careful though because there is a parking lot for bar patrons only and they do have a tow away sign, but parking in the other lot is safe and free and there are enough parking spaces.More

Zapata is the place to go for authentic Mexican food and drinks. Highly recommend the traditional Molcajete dish which is enough for two people. Serve if fast and atmosphere is cozy.
