Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had 12 people. We got a private dining room and were very happy about it.
For starter I ordered the fresh burrata and loved it. I also get to taste of my friends' order: escargot and...the scallop chips. Both were wonderful and definitely on my list to order next time.
For entree I had the delmonico steak. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I am a 5'8'' 160# male who eats sensibly. I took the steak home and stretched it for two more meals (with some starch items that I added personally). Very good.
Kudos to Paris, the waitress that made the evening so memorable!More
What a sweet little gem. Brought my wife here for her birthday and she was none to exited about the looks of the place when we pulled up to park. But when we opened the door and stepped inside her eyes lit up with delight....The decor was very charming and posh and the staff couldn't have been nicer.
We went there not knowing that it was best to make a reservation as they are very much in demand but they accommodated with a very nice table without having to wait. James, our server was Top Drawer and couldn't have been nicer.More
Who would ever thought you would get such excellent food from a strip mall restaurant. On the outside it doesn't look like much until you walk in. The food was excellent and so was the service. Reservations are a must. The wait staff brings out...a tray of their steaks and explains what cut they all are.
We had drinks, appetizer, main meal and dessert and everything was excellent. We definitely will be coming back.More
This restaurant is highly rated on Yelp and near our hotel so I opted to go here for dinner without a reservation. This was my first time here. I returned a second time a month later. This review is about both of my dinner experiences....The steak restaurant is located in a strip mall. Our first time we were here for dinner without a reservation, but, were seated immediately. We were very impressed by the décor. All service staff wore masks.
I started with their Red Pear cocktail with Absolute pear vodka, mango vodka, and pomegranate juice for $13. I enjoyed a second Red Pear. We started with their 6 raw oysters for $14, which had a nice clean taste. I enjoyed their Signature Dish, 6 ounce Steak 1776 filet mignon plated on mashers and finished with lump crab sauteed in a cream reduction for $40. My filet was properly cooked medium rare. 8 and 10 ounce filets were also available for $43 and $46, respectively. It was also served with asparagus.
We also enjoyed a bottle of Apothic red blend for $35 from California.
My total bill was $143 less gratuities for our first visit for both of us.
I booked my second dinner reservation on Open Table. When we arrived we were seated immediately at their VIP labeled table adjacent to the kitchen entrance. I again started with their Red Pear cocktail. We again started with their 6 raw oysters for $14, which again had a nice clean taste. This time I again tried their Signature Dish, but the larger 8 ounce Steak 1776 filet mignon plated on mashers and finished with lump crab sauteed in a cream reduction for $43. My filet was again properly cooked medium rare, but, did not taste as good or tender as my 6 ounce filet last time. My total bill less gratuities was $106. Our server #76 took care of us.
I may return here again although I heard there are other better restaurants in the area for aged steaks. Anyway this place is not so bad.More
I brought my wife for her birthday based on the reviews. We went all out and both got the bone-in Kansas City steak which was aged 44 days for $44 each. When it came out the steak was cooked properly but the taste, tenderness and...presentation wasn’t anything like you would expect from a fine dining experience.
The cup of crab and lobster bisque we both had for an appetizer was more like a crab version of Manhattan clam chowder and completely void of anything close to lobster flavor.
Overall the lack of quality and finesse for the price we paid is why we do not recommend the 1776.More
Last night 5/17, 4 of us went to 1776 for dinner. We had made reservation for 6:30. We were seated promptly. Each had a drink and soup for starters. 3 had the crab and lobster bisque, I had the French onion. Both were very good....2 had the lamb , 1 had the 1776 steak and I had the 10oz filet mignon. We all chose baked potato and of course we had vegetables too. For dessert we all had the key lime pie and coffee. Our server brought everything in a timely manner and not one mistake in our order. Everything was cooked to perfection. For a Monday night, the restaurant was full. Glad to see people out again and enjoying themselves. This was not our first time eating here and we will return again.More
Our table had a beautiful and excellent Beefburger plate as well as the Black Ravioli Entree ( lobster ravioli in a shrimp and crab chunky sauce ) that was just wonderful. With the caesar & the wedge salads and a huge side of onion rings...that needed a bigger plate, 4 ate well and were very pleased also.More
