After having our sunset sailing, we decided to go here to eat. Looking at website, there was a variety of items that looked very good. We had filet and blackened salmon. That was excellent decision. Other items on menu looked good also. Table next to...us got hamburgers which looked good. Might have to go back to try other items. Located on the Main Street of Mystic couple blocks from draw bridge. Server was excellent and very nice. Checked on us frequently.More

We ordered two lobster rolls, two clam chowders and two chips (instead of fries). Only the chips disappointed us; they were not the thick type that were shown on their website. The lobster rolls were expensive (not their fault), but were very, very good.

We had waited for a booking for a long time and we were bringing our 14 year old son as a treat as he really appreciates good food. We had the tasting menu and the food was very good overall. Our table for three was...not well positioned or comfortable and was between two doorways and too tight to serve food to my son without bumping into another seat several times. Only one person was having a drink and was told not to have the half bottle of wine as it was not good (why is it on the wine list??). Found the selling of extras too much and would expect a cheese course in a tasting menus. Some great highlights with the fish ingredients to include the oyster canapé and scallop course. Love food and that part was good so my compliments to the chefMore

Had an excellent lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Very attentive and friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. The calamari with white balsamic was light and fresh and the oysters were fantastic.

We visit Mystic often but this was the first time here. We were very pleasantly surprised that it was "wind down Wednesday" they offered a free bottle of wine with two entrees. And they also had live, easy listening music. The food was very good,...hearty portions and they were able to accommodate my wife's food allergies. The night was made even better with the service and conversation with out waitress, Michele. A shout out to the manager, Shirley, for shifting table for us.More

Great find while visiting the main streets of mystic. We were downtown and looking for a place for a good sandwich for lunch. Did not disappoint!! Amazing BLTC (cucumber) wrap, husband has the pastrami sandwich as the prices might seem a little steep for some,...you get what you pay for. This is more of a high end restaurant n downtown mystic and was worth every penny. The truffle fries were out of this world! Waitstaff was super. Our waiter was Trevor was fantastic! Highly recommend. Hugh top tables great atmosphere!More

A nice stop right on the main street. Staff were super accommodating. Had burger and shrimp alfredo - both great. A little pricey but worth it. All high-top tables.

We were in Mystic this past week and thought we would try happy hour at Chapter One. They had $2 draft beers, house wines for $5 a glass, and an assortment of appetizers for good prices. We opted for the mussels with fra diavolo sauce....We were not disappointed. They were perfect with just a touch of spice without being too hot. I actually wasn't planning to write a review as we just stopped for happy hour. However I have to say the two gentlemen that served and greeted us while we were there were the BEST. So refreshing to meet such nice people, who know how to make you feel welcome. This restaurant is very fortunate to have both of them. If we ever return to Mystic again, we will definitely stop by.More

A spot became available at the bar this past weekend during brunch and we quickly took it as it was difficult to get in everywhere. The bartender quickly came over and asked what I’d like to drink and she made me a fantastic Bloody Mary....My husband joined and at first asked for an Irish coffee, but, then decided on just a coffee which she brought over with cream already added and some sugar packets. A little odd because he didn’t ask for cream, but, didn’t say anything because he takes cream anyway. I saw the Chapter 10 Benedict for $25 and ordered mine with lobster. My husband ordered the steak and eggs. The food was delivered and the runner noticed we had no silverware. The bartender told her that she didn’t have any back there…the runner went up front to get silverware for us. The food was decent, but, definitely nothing to write home about. There was just a little bit of lobster that had been over sautéed so it was tough, English muffin not even toasted. Eggs were perfect and home fries were yummy. My husband’s steak was sliced super thin and fatty and scrambled eggs were over cooked. We finished up and I asked for an ice water and the check. The bartender promptly brought my water, but, not the check. We were now the only ones at the bar and she completely disappeared for about 10 minutes. This was a bit irritating to me because I was finished and I just wanted to leave. When she brought the check, my meal was listed as $38. I brought this to her attention to which she responded that there must be an up charge for the lobster. I stated that the menu didn’t say that and she confirmed it on the computer that it was indeed an up charge. She offered to get the manager and I asked to see the menu once again to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I looked at the menu and there was a worn out sticker with some faint handwriting on it that was barely legible. She insisted on getting the manager and I agreed because if I had known, I never would’ve ordered it as it certainly was not work that much. The manager was super nice and stated that the bartender should have told me about the upcharge but she didn’t and she offered to take 25% off. I agreed that was fair. For a restaurant as “upscale” as Chapter 10, there are a few things I expect: 1. Ice water whether I ask for it or not 2. Silverware 3. To at least be checked on - asked if there’s anything else I need? And 4. To have the only bartender NOT disappear for any amount of time. Oh and 5. Charging $15 for a Bloody Mary with Tito’s?? No…just no. Glad I didn’t order another.More

My husband and I visited Mystic for a quick weekend get away to celebrate our anniversary. We had a long drive up and were hungry for lunch. Chapter One was the first place we happened to walk past, so we stopped in. We were seated...immediately by a friendly host. Our waitress greeted us pretty quickly. Our food was very good. I had a salad with Grilled Chicken and 2 glasses of wine. My husband had French Onion soup and wings. I tried one of the wings, they were really tasty and very crispy! Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend for a nice lunch.More

Chapter One is a cozy venue in the center of Mystic. Now for the food. We shared a platter of little neck clams that were fresh and perfectly shucked. My seared yellow tuna was full of flavor and served over a mountain of risotto flavored...with various ingredients. My wife's scampi and linguini was absolutely delicious. We finished with gelato and sorbet that were also delicious. Were I not living several thousand miles away I would be a regular.More

Visited on Mother’s Day. My son moved to Groton in 2020 and we were visiting this weekend. He had tried a few other places to get brunch reservations but they were already booked. This place was right in the heart of mystic, we had a...lovely seat, right by a window and had a few of the street with the shops. Our waitress was very nice, super friendly and quite personable. We decided to treat ourselves and have a carafe of mimosas. The carafe was served with champagne flutes with orange quarters in the flutes; nice touch! I decided on something off the Mother’s Day brunch ‘special menu’ the crab cake Benedict’s. For $12 I was curious what this entailed. The waitress explained the entree and it sounded delightful, my mother-in-law ordered this as well. My husband ordered their omelet and my son the filet Benedict. Wow, were we surprised when our crab Benedict’s arrived; 2 crab cakes, 2 eggs and some potatoes... for $12? The crab cakes were delicious! The potatoes and eggs, on the other hand...not as much. One egg was more like hard boiled, one was poached, the potatoes were cold and some were hard, but hey, I didn’t even know I was getting potatoes , so whatever. My son said his filet Benedict was prepared as requested, my husband didn’t say much. We got the bill and woah...we were charged $25 for the crab Benedict’s, not $12 as advertised on the ‘special menu.’ I took the menu and our bill to the manager...ooopsie...type-o! They SHOULD NOT have been $12. She did however change our bill and we were charged as advertised, which we appreciated. I asked my husband afterward about his omelet. It had no flavor, the fillings were barely there, he ordered wheat toast and got a pat of butter, that’s it. If you want jelly (or compote) it’s a $1 up charge. Bottom line, we got a deal; would we go back and pay full price...probably not. But the service was above average. The prices a bit inflated, BUT, IT’S MYSTIC?!?More
