We went to Los Angeles for a one day visit to the famous Walk of fame in Hollywood Blvd. and ended up at Mel's diner. I'm surprised that the setting of this restaurant is like the American Grafitti and other classic memorable movies and t.v. shows. I'm a big fan of old movies during the 50's- 60's era, and that's what makes this restaurant unique and special. When you walk inside, it's like you really are stepping back in time. The impossible burger was really good, and everything we ordered was perfectly cooked. Certainly a not to be missed place if you love classic American style diners and burgers.

Came here for a late breakfast. Food was pretty average and service was friendly but pretty incompetent(brought out the forgotten toast that was ordered after we finished eating our breakfast), but this is a place to see for the nostalgia. Historic 1950s diner that brings you back to another era. Not too many places like this left in America

Ignore the negative reviews! We went today 04/30/22, in the am. It was great from start to finish. We seated ourselves and we ordered the beef sandwich with gravy jus and the spicy chicken sandwich. Both amazing fresh, tasty and good quality. The fries were also hot crisp and fresh. The vanilla milkshake is a must. Good service too. Forgot to mention the crispy onion rings. What a delight

Its prices are crazy. It’s not a gourmet restaurant, it’s just a regoular diner, but it charges like a gourmet We spent almost 70$ for 2 burgers and 2 beers! Inside there is freezing air conditioning directly ti your neck also at night time, when it’s already Cold. We had to eat wearing overcoats. Plus, the beer were literally iced and we had to wait 20 minutes to drink those.

This is a classic "not to miss" classic diner that takes you back to way back when the first diners were born in America. THANK god they kept it that way!! and the host with the most will happily make paper airplanes for the kiddies out of the goodness of his heart too:) It's .....GREAT !!!!

We enjoyed Mel’s Drive in when we visited LA in 2019. We enjoyed lunch but this time we went to a different location and just ordered dessert; cookies n’ cream milk shake; strawberry milk shake and root beer float. All three were delicious and will always visit Mel’s Diner because we totally like the drive-in oldies vibe. We were bummed that our jukebox didn’t work. The restaurant was playing great music.

This is a typical diner style restaurant where you can order just about anything, any time of day. The staff are friendly and don’t rush you. My daughter and I went in mid afternoon for more of a snack, so we shared chicken tenders and fries and a slice of chocolate fudge cake, which was delicious!

Fantastic! Great food, super service, and super friendly staff. Nicely decorated in all 50s style. At every table there is a jukebox where you can play your own music for 25 cents. I definitely recommend Mels drive in! I'll definitely come back here when I'm in LA again.

Service was ok, after I paid & tipped, never saw her again. Was a kitsy kinda place, fun looking. Bacon was tough, not crispy as ordered, eggs way overdone, hashbrowns deep fried?? Toast was good. Sorry Mel’s, you missed on this one, hopefully this is a one off.

This place is a joke. We got there after the national championship game and were 1 of only about 3 tables in there. Took 15 minutes just to get our orders taken. The manager was the only one that came to check on us bc our waitress was too concerned about hanging out with her homegirls. Food gets there it’s mediocre and not great. At one point this place might’ve been great but you’re only as good as your staff and food. Only place in the past years Iv left zero as a tip and I’m a great tipper. Wouldn’t recommend

We have visited Mel’s three times over the last two weeks. The food is delicious. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The portions are quite large on some dishes and we have shared to save on wasting food. The only disappointment was the tea. I asked for cold milk on the side and was just shown the cartons of uht creamer - disgusting! And the tea bag wasn’t strong enough.

We came here late at night, so there was no wait and the food came out quickly. All the food was delicious; good price. If you want to play songs, just be careful where you sit, because our jukebox ate our money. The parking lot is small but street parking is easy.

After spending the day touring SoFi Stadium (Friday Dec 22), my wife and I were hungry enough for an early dinner. I decided we should go visit a Mel’s Drive-In. We rarely order the same thing, but we both got the Mel Burger. We also ended dinner with a strawberry milkshake. Our server, Gabino, was very personable, which we loved! Although we went out of our way and was hit with LA traffic to and from, I was so glad we came here!

I was in this place for breakfast, it was very atmospheric in an American way. I ordered avocado toast, a large portion - not bad We also ordered a signature burger - it didn’t taste like plastic. Service is good

Visited for breakfast with our family who were visiting LA for the first time so we had to bring them to the iconic Mel’s! We had a selection of Omelette, Pancakes, Waffles, and Steak & Eggs. All dishes were tasty and well presented, service is always brilliant. Highly recommend whenever you are in Hollywood for that authentic American dining experience!
