We enjoy going to Dale's Diner for breakfast. It's good home-cooked meal and plenty of food. I always get the fruit cup instead of the hashbrowns and it's a big helping of fruit. My husband gets the hashbrowns and says they're good. It's a small place and lunch gets kind of crowded. We were there for breakfast today and the lunch crowd started to come in around 11am.

Wanted a real sit down restaurant to eat dinner at after disembarking a cruise and had to wait until next day to fly home. Walked down from Hampton Inn Airport LB and found this place! Really nice and very clean! The food was well prepared and came very timely. No waiting! The Waitress said she has been there 7 years and helped a couple older people that she had as regulars and treated them like family she cared about! It was about one half mile walk but really I would go there again if ever back in Long Beach! Fabulous diner atmosphere and decor!

Went for dinner March 14, 2020. The hostess girl did a deep cleaning of the entire booth after other customers left. Not just the top of the table but the sides and all surfaces of the booth. Not just with a damp cloth, but she sprayed down all the surfaces. She also cleaned the door handles anytime a customer came or left. With the corona virus outbreak, I feel this is a safe place to eat. The food was good as usual.

Stopped in for a sandwich to go. Chose this place over many nearby corporate chains because I prefer a more personal experience than all that hype. We’re from rural Colorado and appreciate a “hometown” feel; Dale’s seemed to fit this category from the outside, however once I stepped inside that was lost. The server (only one) was slightly rude and acted as if she was too busy to get to me expediently, apparently sorting through to-go bags is more important than a waiting customer. My tuna and avocado sandwich was excellent, however I should of stuck with fries because my pathetic excuse of a side salad was absolutely inedible, wilted and brown. There was no soap in the bathroom and the place in general was not very clean. I do not recommend Dale’s

This is a great restaurant! Everything is good. I've had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. They are very generous with the shakes, root beer floats, and fries. It's always a great experience!

Really good place to eat and listen to music from the 50's and 60's. Be sure to try the following dishes:
1 - Their chili. It is very good! Tastes like old fashion Texas chili!
2 - The club sandwich
3 - Their huge salads
4 - The large chocolate malt, not shake, but real malt
All the servers are wonderful, especially Winter. Winter is a gem. Very attentive, accurate and easy going.
Hope you enjoy and have a great day!

A wonderful trip back to the Fifties Diner Experience! And the food is so tasty. I like the onion rings, malts and burgers! The servers dress and act like what one expects from Happy Days! Wonderful place for good food and a great time!

The burgers are so good, not frozen, if you like ice cream shakes this is the place to go.
The atmosphere is like a 50's diner, even has the old jukeboxes, outdoor patio.
The breakfast is wonderful the hash brown really good, great selection of menu choices
Friendly service and great prices. Parking can sometimes be a problem.

We were on our way back from Orange County and decided to give Dale's a try. This is a 50's style Diner established in 1988. We were greeted as we walked in, as were other patrons that came in after us. We were invited to pick our seats and the waitress immediately came to our table with menus and asked what we'd like to drink. We took our time looking at their extensive menu and made our decisions. The wife went with the Southwest Bacon Burger and I decide on the Patty Melt (it came with fries or other options). We asked if a milk shake was big enough to share and were told it was, so we ordered a chocolate shake.
Everything arrived within a reasonable time and the shake was split between two old fashion malt glasses. The shake was delicious and my Patty Melt was the best I've ever eaten. The wife's burger was good and way too big for her to finish. BTW, they use 100% Angus Beef!
Next time we're in the area, we will certainly stop again!
Enjoy!!

The food is very good to excellent across the board, fresh and well-prepared. Omelettes are huge and very tasty, great hash browns, milkshakes a solid 9. Haven't had a bad meal in many visits over the years. Ambience is authentic--cheap, chintzy and charming. It's understated compared to the self-consciously retro-hip newer places, because no diner owner in the 50s would have wasted a lot of money on decor. I mention it because it goes to the value equation, which is very positive--not cheap but definitely worth the price. Service is attentive and cheerful. Scrupulously clean and pleasant, airy and of course a (thankfully muted) jukebox soundtrack. Make this your diner, you really can't do better.

We visited Dale's Diner on one morning and whilst it was enjoyable, it just didn't hit the mark for us.
Across the group we didn't think the pancakes were anything special and the apple pancakes were very dry. I had French toast, which was enjoyable.
The shakes here were very impressive though, ultra thick and flavoursome, with my cherry one having pieces of fruit in it. They also gave you what was left, so it was like drinking two and a meal in itself.
Whilst we wouldn't make the effort to go back, it is good if you are in the area.

Really good diner food... Big Portions and super tasty... Loved the Decor... I wish it was a bit more organic and that they had real butter and sugar in the raw... Just room for improvement.

Not a chain; one of a kind. Great food, generous portions, and they got the atomsphere perfect. The sodas are hugely amazing.
As a 50s diner they are even better (by a little bit) than Rubys which is also a favorite.
Great salads. Wonderful hot dogs served in a variety of ways. Personally we love the clam chowder, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn bread, fish tacos, and the 50s and 60s oldies.

Yes it's true, I am diners lover. I truly love walking into a diner that has all the old time goodies. My daughter and I headed out to Dale's Diner for breakfast for my birthday. Of course it has not changed much. It's like stepping back in time for a great meal. The biscuits and gravy is a mush have for anyone that likes that kind of food. Dale's B&G is 5 star teast texture and WOW a very tasty home made biscut. We order up a plate and put in the middle of the talble and dip into it as we eat the rest of our breakfast. Dale's 1950 diner rocks and rolls. They also do a very good lunh and dinner. Yes it's true This was not my first rodeo here at Dale's. So do yourself a favor and head to Dale's any time for any meal. Hey Dale's just al little more sauage in the gravy next time buddy.....

The service was very fast, and the server, Laura, was super friendly and pleasant. We ordered the chicken noodle soup that was so good that I ordered a second bowl. Yes, I’m a pig! The fries were hot and crispy. The bacon on the hubby’s BLT was crisp, but NOT burnt. The hamburger that I ordered was really better than anything I could have made at home. Very moist and flavorful. We came on Sunday evening at about 8:00pm. We heard another group compliment the server on the food and 2 guys were at the counter enjoying a couple of milkshakes.
