I had dinner at Open Sesame in Belmont Shore in January and again in Feburary while in the Long Beach area on business. The food was absolutely delicious both times, and the service was friendly and efficient. You definitely need a reservation for dinner any night of the week, and you're on your own to find parking on the street, which was no problem either time I was there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes Mediterranean food, and if you don't know what something is, just ask the waitstaff, who will happily explain. It's a great place for dinner and very reasonably priced.

Have been going to this restaurant for years. But lately, I have actually had Los Angeles friends tell me that they had heard it was worth a trip down to Long Beach to eat here. My favorite is the Vegetarian entree, with a combination of hummus, baba ganouj, tabouli, felafel, stuffed grape leaf and lots of pita. Each part of the dish is beautifully prepared, and the whole plate is a completely satisfying meal, in every way. The restaurant gets very crowded on the weekend evenings, so be prepared to wait. It is worth it, however.

We visited Long Beach and wanted Mediterranean food. Some thing light. The hummus was to die for. It was light and tasty with zest of lemon and had a Lebanese pita bread that was tasty. We had chicken and lamb kabobs that were cooked to perfection. The waiters and staff were friendly and courteous. If you’re in LB, have the hummus at open sesame.

We had dinner and shared dishes with the fam. I have never had toume before and it was so good. We had two bowls and I am going to try and make at home. The roasted/fried cauliflower was very tasty and crisp and the pita bread was warm and yummy..We shared the Open Sesame combo which was savory and very tasty.

The food is consistently outstanding, the service is great, the ambiance is lovely! We've loved every single menu item that we've tried. Great wine selection too. Don't miss out on the fried potatoes with garlic sauce, the hummus and pita, the appetizer that has watermelon and cheese (i forgot the cheese name), the flash fried cauliflower, and pretty much everything else on the menu! Desserts are great too.

Wow! This place is so amazingly delicious! We had a triple date and ordered the sampler, garlic potatoes, and falafel for appetizers for the table. We had to stop eating the appetizers to ensure we had room for our entrees. My husband ordered the Open Sesame combo and I had the Sultan combo. Both were so delicious and it was so much food that I filled 2 to go boxes and had enough for 2 lunches. The garlic cream sauce and habanero sauce that they make in house are so amazing! Yes, the habanero is spicy but not too over the top...either that or I have a high tolerance, which I doubt the latter. The staff is so nice and provided amazing service.

Cute place. Very friendly staff! Nice variety on the menu. Dissappointing food though! The falafal was hard & burned tasting. It kinda was like eating ashes. The beef was tough & hard to chew. The pita was dry, cold & flat like a paper towel. Just dissappointing.

If I lived in Long Brach I’d come here regularly. We went as a family and all thought the food was amazing in every bite. The Babghanoush eggplant appetizer is delicate and smoky. Cauliflower appy is a must. The Sultan main meal is a generous mix of fillet mingon, lamb and shrimp. The service was friendly and relatively fast considering how busy they were. Highly recommend you put your name on the list, go for a stroll and come back to some authentic Mediterranean food.

Very tasty. Enjoyed hummus, pita, tabouleh (a tad lemony), chicken tawook, beef kabab and beef/lamb kafta and basmati rice. Fave was the chicken. Nice to sit outside under heat lamp.

Went straight for mains despite a slightly pushy server trying to encourage(?) us to do starters - and glad we did, the portions are very big, especially if you include rice. The hummus is great with generous pitta and the garlic dip is heavenly. Chicken well cooked.

Food was delicious m. One of the few places I’ve been to that served lamb that was preloaded to bring out the flavor and not be overpowered by the gaminess. If I lived closer I’d make open sesame a regular experience :)
