Only a Couple Miles from Home, but like Being on Vacation in an Exotic Location

We eat here frequently, entertain guests here, and are frequently motivated by their eMail specials. The views of the boats anchored in the bay and the city are a feast for the eye and a great place to watch the sun set. Their spirits menu is comprehensive and the menu includes a plethora of options. Food is invariably tasty and arrives prepared like you ordered it. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable about menu items. Among the several restaurants in the area, Yard House is typically our 'go to' choice.

Food better than expected, service worse

Initially I was sceptical of this being just another sports bar with easy, low quality eats but I really was wrong. The burgers were excellent - hot, decent sizes, cooked to perfection and a superb taste… sadly on my pepper jack burger, you just couldn’t taste much pepper! All well presented and pretty good value too. What let things down was the overall service experience, a very long wait initially which wasn’t brilliantly managed, followed by being left in limbo as we waited to order food and then it taking an age to check up on us once we got the food. That’s no sleight on our server who was brilliant, but I think the overall vibe of the place doesn’t really suit for multiple interventions by waiting staff. Would be happy to go again for food but only knowing I’d need to draw attention to everything at the first opportunity.

Great bar food

We stopped in to this very popular place and opted to eat outside after a short wait. The atmosphere is very lively...lots of people and the staff really hustling...and music. What set this above the usual busy and crowded bar are two things: 1) the location and view and 2) the food. Having eaten at my fair share of places like this, I was super impressed by how tasty to the food was. Just really good bar food in a very busy and popular place. We seriously thought about returning to eat again the next day.

It’s been a while since I’ve last eaten here and really used to like it. But it’s not the same. Food was OK, but service and atmosphere were lacking. Tables had no napkins or settings and had to ask 3 times, even as our food was served. Tables had no condiments at all. Only item on table was an electronic kiosk to order drinks, and later, to view and pay bill. Despite a higher number of workers, it was hard to tell what they were doing or if the spoke English. One girl behind us was slicing lemons and I asked for a bag to put our leftover containers in and she nodded yes, but then walked away. Others just nodded and smiled when asked a question. This is a tourist area so it was very crowded and loud on an early evening Saturday. Parking is crowded and difficult but they do validate for discount.

Food nice service really poor

Very rude staff made us feel uncomfortable. We were visiting from the UK and ate in our 50,s and our server Vincent made us feel really unwelcome. When we asked for a larger with sprite on top and explained he was dismissive and brought us a full sprite and larger . He was rude and when we paid was being rude about change this was really unprofessional

Fantastic

Food and service were top-notch. Showed up with a group of ten the last minute, and they found us places at the bar. I didn't drink, but I had a fantastic meal. Those who partook in the alcohol and food left with smiles on their faces. The fried calamari was fantastic. The spicy tomato sauce was just the right degree of spiciness. The salad was perfect. Bartenders were working their butts off, but they were doing an amazing job.

Great Customer Service

Excellent food and great customer service. The restaurant was packed and there was a long wait. When we finally got seated, we were seated outside. It was cold and we asked to move inside. They accommodated us easily. However, our order was misplaced. Jayla and Kevin both ensured we were taken care of, got our food expedited, and they discounted the bill. They exhibited great customer service during a time when they were extremely busy. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Overrated restaurant! It's true, the terrace is very beautiful, but the rest.... I announced myself at the reception, where a boy welcomed me courteously and told me that I would have to wait a moment and that then someone would take me to the table. After a moment, a lady arrived who was supposed to take me to the table, but for the first moment she ignored me. Anger more busy arguing with a colleague than taking care of guests. She didn't even apologize. The dishes are good. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired. The staff takes lemon slices to put in the glasses with their bare hands after touching who knows what and without washing their hands.

Depends Where Your Table Is And who your Waiter Is

We saw how busy the place was on previous nights so arrived at 6.30 but still had to wait 35 mins for a table outside. You cannot book. Inside it is dark and noisy and was not to our taste but may suit other diners. We had a good meal and very good service from Dillon. If you go to the bar they will only serve one drink per person stood at the bar so you cannot buy a round of drinks if only one f your party goes to the bar whilst you wait for your table. I was served at the bar by a rude lady who virtually asked for a tip. It is very hectic inside the restaurant but much less so if you sit outside.

First time, but not my last

I pick this location because i enjoyed the area before. This was my first time at the Yard House and I was impressed with the service despite them being extremely busy. The food portions were above average and I must say I had the best pepper jack burger ever. my business associates had fish and chips and they also said they are among the best they’ve ever had

Great for groups. Excellent service for large groups even when they ordered at different times.

We had a table of 15 or so and folks were landing at different times. The waiter was amazing as the ones who came late got their order even before the others. Food was pizzas, soups.poke bowl,.pasta etc. Noisy place close to the convention center and good for large groups

Long Beach Go-To Spot

Turned out to be one of my favorite spots in Long Beach. Near to the convention center and a wide variety of drafts on hand. Went two nights and tried a third but was very crowded and could not get in. Had the wings, pizza and tacos and all were excellent. Since I was solo I did bar seating both nights and bar staff were very prompt and knowledgeable about the selections of drafts available. Wish we had one locally…..

Late night open - great service

There were 4 of us close to 10pm and a meeting at the Long Beach Convention center just letting out. The place was packed but we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the food was excellent. Large choice of menu. I had the carne asada tacos - yummy. Two of the gals shared nachos with chicken and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich. Don’t forget to have your parking receipt stamped.

Excellent food/drink and service!

I joined my colleagues for a drink and a snack . Once I was seated a friendly staff member asked me if I wanted a drink. I ordered a glass of Prosecco which was chilled and refreshing. To eat , I had chicken tenders with fries . They were very nice . Great service and delicious food . Good water front location and nice atmosphere , add to that we witnessed a rocket launch ! Our waiter/ server , Preston was polite patient and professional and your innovative payment device / machine makes it much easier for groups to settle their bill / check

Good food, packed patio

The food and service was good. Good view of the boats and ocean. The patio was pretty tightly packed though. They quickly put away all the umbrellas when the sun was going down and put out heaters which was nice.
