I ate there for the first time with a colleague after work. The first thing I noticed was the ambiance - I loved the old timey feeling of the place. It made me very comfortable and want to hang out there. Next was the darling server. She took such great care of us and we never would have guessed it was her first night on her own if she hadn’t told us. And finally, the food...excellent! We shared the Brussels sprouts and the roasted cauliflower small plates and we both ordered the oven roasted half chicken. All were delicious!! YES, I would eat there again!!

The Ordinarie has been on my list of places to try for a few years now. I made reservations at 6:30 pm in advance for my little holidate with friends. The Ordinarie is located on the Promenade in Long Beach next door to Congregation Ale House. It's a tavern and for the holidays it was decked out to the core! I've never seen so many Christmas lights indoors. It was very festive and I knew we were in for a good time. The hostess gave us a 90-minute window for our table on a Sunday evening. I was there first so I ordered a Chrismapolitan cocktail and the Chicken pot pie bites. My friends ordered the Effing Around and the Yippee Ki Yay Mother F****r. They also ordered the Ordinarie Fries with bacon, Mac & cheese with bacon, Grilled salmon with side salad, and the Tavern Burger with side salad. For dessert, we had the Gingerbread Cookie sundae. The food came out and let me just tell you, the chicken pot pie bites are DELICIOUS! Get them! My friends' fries and mac & cheese were really good too. We found one of the salads was too salty and let the server know. It turns out that they salt everything on the way out of the kitchen so they may have been a little overzealous with the salt. The food took a while to come out. We were reminded that we were over our 90-minute window but the food we ordered barely came out at 7:50 pm. The dessert also didn't come out til after 8 pm. We split the bill and the server was able to do it at the table with the hand held card machine. I'm so glad these card machines are making their way stateside. Despite being rushed, the Ordinarie is a fun spot to enjoy with friends. I would definitely come back if I wanted drinks and a small bite. We were told that the popovers were sold out for the night so I'm interested in trying those next time.

They are doing a great job with COVID-19 safety measures (socially distanced tables, outdoor dining, masks and face shields.) Friendly and fast service. Great comfort food options. We had their fries, short rib Mac and Cheese and beet salad - all good size portions, tasty fresh. So many items I want to try when I go back. Creative mocktails and plenty of beer options. Will definitely go back.

We were in town before we left on our cruise and heard about this Christmas pop up bar! We got here at about 11:30 am and waited about an hour but it was well worth it. The place was decorated fantastic, the staff was great and awesome food! Definitely put this on your list next holiday season. My advice would be to get there when they open!

Excellent food that exceeded our expectations for a gastropub. The burger and fries and the short rib and various sides were all delicious. It has a quirky European pub vibe, which includes dim lighting. Some more light would be nice, but the food more than made up for that.

As seen on my blog and Instagram @myadventuresinhorrorland This week we decided to take a step back in time to a place simply not ordinary but absolutely extraordinary. We ventured way back to the 17th century to a hidden American Tavern in downtown Long Beach. Venturing back to a place that delivered excellent hospitality, was welcoming and inviting for guest of all abilities, food that engulfed your senses and a cocktail and spirits list that captured the old soul you once had all in a time period setting. You may have to leave your horses back at home but your furry little pups, friends and family are welcome to embark on a journey to The Ordinare. The date was April 13th 2022 before we stepped into a time capsule Tavern and instantly transported to a time between the 17th-18th century. This day I opted to leave my bright orange wheelchair at home and mosey around for the day. The Tavern was dimly lit to set the tone and transport you back in time. The sound from a live jazz band played in the background . You could still hear the sound of the bartender shaking cocktails and the distant chatter that filled the room as people talked, drank and dined. So many delectable smells tickeled at your senses almost as though it was luring you to take a peak at the food passing by. You almost get lost in thought as you looked around the Tavern at the pictures on the wall and your senses stimulated. One could easily forget what Era you were in. Marina would be our server for the evening that would guide us through the menu and take us on a food journey back in time. We started our evening with a personalized suggestion from both Marina and The Ordinare. My partner and I split a small plate of the chicken pot pie bites and grilled chicken wings. For my first drink I opted for one of their featured drinks, a Ginny Schumaher and my partner enjoyed a stout from Common Space Brewing. Our food was hot , aesthetically pleasing to the eye and smelled delicious. I spooned out one of the chicken pot pie bites and coated it in the gravy from the bottom of its dish. Light flakey crust and a delicious pot pie filling had me wanting more. This dish truly was unique, flavorful, rich and made for a hearty meal. I have personally never had grilled chicken wings and now that I tasted them I simply can't get them out of my head. The wings were a dry rub with a delicious spicy kick but not over powering. They delivered the perfect balance of crispy skin and juicy meat, I can see why they are a personal favorite for Marina. Our starters paired so well with our drinks that evening and we were only just beginning. My main corse consisted of Mac and cheese and grilled asparagus from the starter menu and my partner opted for the French dip sandwich. This was not your mommas Mac n cheese. My Mac n cheese did not lack in the cheese department, was hot and topped off with goldfish crackers for that perfect crunch in each bite. For an extra cost you are able to top your dish off with bacon or short ribs but I chose to nibble off my partners french dip instead . If your like me no meal is complete without a delicious side vegetable and the asparagus exceeded my expectations. Maybe it was the pea mint puree that gave this dish and extra oomph but i couldn't get enough of it. A second personalized recommendation from The Ordinare definitely knocked our dinner out of the park with their short rib French dip. I have never had such a flavorful French dip, and it wasn't even fatty and plated excellent. Everything was phenomenal from start to finish. To finish your night out I highly recommend taking time to also enjoy one of their signature cocktails. I was too stuffed to eat dessert so my Pick Me Up cocktail was a great substitute. It was not too sweet and just the perfect amount of bitter, which made for a refreshing end. I also would suggest trying the Widow's Kiss that packs a boozy punch. After such an amazing dinner ending the night with cocktails that yet again satisfied my senses with being aesthetically pleasing, smelled amazing and tasted great was a perfect way to bid farewell until next time.

I read a review of this place in an online magazine and was glad we went. Lovely wholesome food, some great craft beers on their extensive menu, friendly service and keenly priced. We had a lovely time, ticked all the boxes.

We asked my daughter for a good place to eat, and she suggested this one for a dinner. She makes good suggestions. This is made out to be an early English Pub. Looking at the wall, they document the law under which this pub had to be founded in the 1600s, as a place for travelers to eat and rest. Maybe not rest, but eat, yes! I had their salmon with a grilled Caesar salad (which the waitress combined to save me money). The salmon was very tasty, and I enjoyed the grilled Caesar. The rest of the party went with New England Style Lobster Rolls, Chicken and Dumplings, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Pure comfort food - not haute cuisine, and very tasty. The beer menu used to back up the food menu was equally interesting. I had a Brouwerij West Dog Ate My Homework, and another member of our party had their Fogcutter, which was more of a fogmaker. All in all, tasty food. It was quite enjoyable.

This place had great service, relaxing atmosphere, and good food! We enjoyed hanging out and people- watching from the front patio area. We noticed there was live music, but we didn't stay late enough to hear it.

Here on business. Say at the bar while the Dodgers blew game 5 of ALDS. Had the short rib dip and it was different and delicious. What really stood out was the staff - 100% professional and friendly. All of them I encountered not just the bartender earning his tip. Definitely a must visit.

We went here as a farewell dinner for a daughter who would be traveling abroad for a year. It was a great restaurant for a send-off. The food was beautifully prepared. The kitchen, manager and server were attentive to our needs and food allergies. They had some really interesting drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It was packed and a bit noisy buy enjoyable! Make sure to get dessert ... it was amazing!

Stopped in and since it was Happy Hour, I took advantage of $2 off small plates. They also have salads and burgers as I recall, including one of those new fake meat burgers. Burgers were around $13 and looked good. My Mac and cheese was pretty good, nothing special. Side Salad was ok, it had some shaved beets that were good. They had a local IPA on tap. It’s a nice atmosphere and I think this place has a lot of things going for it. A lot of competition in this neighborhood though, so let’s see how they stand out.
