We had to stand in line for about 30 min, which wasn’t too bad. The place is super popular so the inside seating was packed. The food was delicious and absolutely worth the wait. We went there a second night and called ahead and ordered food for 11 people, but they forgot one whole meal.

This is a no frills taco shop that specializes in providing great tacos. There is limited seating, and you will often find people standing in a line stretching down the street. This should only encourage you to see why all these folks think it's worth the wait, because it is! We've been multiple times and take our out of town visitors so they can experience just about the best tacos in San Diego.

we went to this place on a satueday night. The waiting line was too long . But good that we waited. The tacos are so good all hand made . We loved the shrimp tacos a lot and my son enjoyed his bean and cheese burrito. I highly recommend that people who are looking for nice fresh Mexican eatery

We needed to see for ourselves what the fuss was all about and waited in a huge line and then waited more after we ordered. It was just ok. The cactus taco was nothing special and the California burrito had fries in it, which sounded good, but just made each bite a bit drier. The sauces are just ok too. The only thing we had that was better than ok were the churros. The people crammed in eating around us were not thrilled either.

The line to get tacos was huge as was the wait. We expected something extraordinary as a result. When we finally arrived at the head of the line, our order was taken promptly and the food came out in a reasonable length of time. We were lucky enough to find two stools to sit on. The environment is less than great. Frankly, the tacos were acceptable but nothing special and certainly not worth the wait and the uncomfortable eating conditions. If there is a long wait, I would not bother and go elsewhere.

Stopped for lunch yesterday with my wife after an appointment at UCSD Medical. Have been here before, and so happy to visit again! Carne Asada taco, Al Pastor taco, Fish taco....DONE! Tacos are flavorful and delicious. The asada taco was absolutely delicious, the pastor was juicy, crispy, and the pineapple flavor was fantastic! My wife really enjoyed her fish taco. Salsa is served on the side, which is not super hot, but flavorful. The portions are perfect, and the tacos are just fantastic, DO NOT order without getting a corn on the cob! Outdoor bench seating is nice, and there is an indoor bench as well. Everything is made to order, so be patient for your order, they'll yell your name when it's ready!

You can't go wrong ordering any of the many tacos The Taco Stand offers. The only way you can go wrong is by deciding to go there when everyone else does (like a weekend evening). The line can be down the block. The Taco Stand is essentially a fast food take-out joint. More customers than seating. Small, really good, fresh tacos made from a variety of ingredients meats, fish, cactus). A hungry person could eat three or four. But it's not fancy. The house-made chips, which you can buy by the bag are much better than store-bought.

The Taco Shack is clearly popular & well rated for a reason - tasty food and very affordable prices. The chicken tacos were good, but the elote (corn) was by far the best part, definitely the best I've ever had. The fact that they make their own tortillas only adds to it. I got there early and there was still a long line, I can only imagine how long it is during peak times.

We ordered the fish, beef, and chicken tacos, all of which were delicious. The only reason why I’m not giving this spot a 5/5 is because we also ordered the chips and I found them a little stale and lacking salt. Nonetheless, great tacos!

Really yummy tacos, the line is always long but it's totally worth the wait. There's not much in the tacos, I got two for dinner and wish I would have gotten 4. I ordered the pollo asada and the nopal taco, they were both delicious. Their churros are AMAZING, they cook them when you order them and come with a sweet dipping sauce.

The Taco Stand is worth the wait to get authentic street tacos. Lines can get a bit long at peak meal times because the food is made to order. Great toppings bar- better and more extensive than most. 2 tacos makes for a nice meal, with a good amount of filling of high quality and flavor. The servers are friendly and accommodating, even in the face of significant crowds. They manage to move things along as quickly as possible.

Must visit this taco stand! The fish and shrimp tacos were incredibly fresh and tender. We tried both grilled and battered fish, the shrimp tacos, and a nopal (cactus, tastes similar to green pepper) taco as well. All were delicious! Highly recommend!

The title says it all. This place.... is the holy grail of tacos/burritos. My fiancé and I came here a few days ago and each got the corn and a california burrito. I nearly released a load in my pants upon the first bite. The homemade tortillas act as a perfect vessel to deliver the delicious carne asada and other fixings into my mouth. The salsas they provide are incredible as well. I have heard amazing things about the al pastor but unfortunately have not have the chance to try it. Either way, this place is a must visit (even if there’s a big line. Trust me, it’s worth the wait).

Stopped in on a weekday for lunch. There was a line out the door, but we stuck it out based on reviews. We really wanted to see what the hype was about! Front staff was really friendly & the kitchen is super efficient (I could not imagine cooking at that pace!!). We ordered the Cali burritos and Cactus tacos, both good but nothing over the top. Prices are fair. My main complaint is there was not a single place to sit or even stand, inside or outside. By the time we were able to reach the salsa bar our food was cold. We'll stick to take out orders next time!

We loved every single thing we ordered and felt like we were in a local spot based on the number of locals walking up. Staff was quick, efficient and very kind. Wish we could get tacos like theirs in Atlanta! Go at sunset and sit outside to enjoy the view.
