Heard about this place several times on DDD. Decided to check it out. It was hot outside 86 degrees. No air in this place very mucky. Upon entering the door is dirty as well as the matt on the floor inside. Small place slightly busy....Very friendly. Used the restroom to wash up. Dirty and crowded with stuff on the way to the back of the place. We had to signature dishes shrimp and beef both were great! But nothing over the top. The bill for two dishes no drinks no tip with tax 47.00 dollars so for a hole in the wall place I would say pricey with no leftovers. If I could have eaten again on this same meal I would then say ok on the price buttttt the servings are just normal. If the place was better kept they might be able to justify the pricing.More

Made our annual visit and have loved it each time. Food was great, service was even better. I had grilled tilapia and my wife had carne asada. I asked for Diablo sauce on mine. The server warned me that it is extremely hot so we...agreed to get it on the side. Great decision as it was delicious but very hot. 3 different servers checked on us during the meal. Marbela (I hope spelling is correct) went above and beyond with her attentiveness and friendliness.More

This small mom and pop place has great authentic Mexican food. We stopped in after a day at Disneyland and really enjoyed the meal. It’s an ‘order at the counter and grab a seat’ type of place with room from about 30 people inside. They...appear to do big takeout business. We had the Carnie Asada plate, Chicken Flautas plate, Steak and Fish Taco. The only criticism was my fish taco’s was only average, while all the other dishes were out of this world. Luckily the portions are huge, so I stole from everyone else’s plate. You get green and red sauce on the side. The mild green was very flavorful while the red was ‘sweat inducing’ great. You get rice, re-fried beans, sour cream and lettuce with the dinner plates. The taco’s and burrito’s are a-la-cart. The employees were a big help in navigating the huge menu with regards to my picky grand kids. I see they have breakfast burrito’s, so you could pick up a morning meal on the way to Disney. We will be back.More

One of our family found this place and got us a reservation for 10. Hidden in a strip mall, the neon light was down so it was a bit tricky to find. Small place and there was a good size line for walk ins. We...were there looking forward to the peruano beans, and they did not disappoint. Definitely try the side of beans with the chorizo. The green chile was very good - it had deep flavor but I wanted a bit more heat to it. Big portions all around. This was on an episode of DDD with Guy Fieri, if you like hunting out places he has been. I would come back as I had my eye on the shrimp ala diabla.More

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on the food channel. In our travels we have visited perhaps 19-20 places that were reviewed by Guy Fieri and have concluded he is either full of BS or there maybe some kind of PAYOLA going on....Best guess is that it could be a combination of the two. We were going to Garden Grove for a family reunion thing so I wrote down the name. It turns out that was about 5 blocks from our motel so we went by. It is a small place of 15-16 tables however we happen to hit it when a table opened up. Service was quick and pleasant. my guess they want to turn tables fast. My wife's dinner of enchiladas was very good. I judge Mexican restaurants by their chilli relleno so i ordered one ala carte intending to get some rice & beans from my wife's plate. Have to say the chilli was just average with the cheese turning into a hockey puck as it cooled. Guy, I wouldn't exactly call it "funkalicious". To summarize, I would call it a pretty good Mexican restaurant, However, in the Central Valley of California where we live there are quite a few really good Mexican restaurants that Guy should review that in my opinion are as good or better.More

TWO Thumps Up!! I tried this spot for lunch and by the time I left there was barely an empty table. I tried the enchiladas (2) dish, which were accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans. For my enchiladas I had a carnitas and a...chicken enchilada with the green sauce. The sauce was OH. MY. WORD. the best I’ve ever had. It was not too thin, not too thick and bold and flavorful. The enchiladas were stuffed with plenty of protein, so there was nothing left to be desired. Friends had the tacos and breakfast burrito (served until 12pm). Their dishes tasted delicious too!More

My friend and I were looking for a local eatery as we were headed to a theater in Old Town Garden Grove. Sabrosos had many five-star ratings, and we decided to try it out. My friend had the steak fajitas which came with red peppers...tomatoes and onions. I had the carne asada which included some grilled nopales and a couple of green onions. Both dishes were accompanied by beans avocado sour cream tomato and rice. The homemade corn tortillas or flour tortillas were offered with both. We both took the homemade corn rather than the non homemade flour. I can only tell you that this restaurant provides a delicious meal. We had to wait a bit to be seated. It was a very full house at 6:30 on a Saturday. Interestingly, there were people of every nationality in there, which is always a harbinger of good food. Both our platters were less than $20 each and both were well worth the money. Even though the restaurant was full and there was music playing, you can still hear yourself talk and think. Service was friendly and responsive. I will definitely be back!More

The food is to die for, although at times it may take a few minutes to get a table. but that just shows that the food is excellent and worth the wait. If you want an excellent Mexican meal definitely go there, and try the...food because you will be going back to try everything on the menu. The Diablo Shrimp are to die for.More

We always starts with the Sabroso beans and scrape it clean. Chili Verde (add fried egg), Chilaquiles or Chammoro a must. The 2 homemade salsa are the bomb.

got there on a Thursday early afternoon and greeted by a super frinedly staff. took time to ask if my family and I were ' first timer' and recommeded their signature dishes. We listened and were totally impressed. the chips are crispy with delicious salsa....the slow cooked beef in red chile is to die for, while the pork in chile verde is to SCREAM for :) go there early. we finished our dinner at 6pm and a line is forming. Great discovery!! it's now a hard choice for my family bewteeen Sabroso and Felix, the Cuban family restaurant in the city of orange.More

The blackened shrimp torta was good and very spicy. Hubs had the carne asada plate. He said it was good. Came here from San Bernardino by recommendation from Triple D.
