An Original Nabatean Tomb Fronted With A Large "Piazza" Surrounded By Original Carved Nabatean Stonework. Short History:- It Was Known As Al-Khan (The Caravanserai) The Open Courtyard Is Bordered On Both Sides By Porticoes Of Tow Doric Columns Each. Originally, The Toe Corner Pilasters Would Have Supported Half Crow Steps And A Cavetto, But These Have Disappeared. In The Funerary Chamber. Six Niches Are Carved In The South Wall, While Tow Square Chambers And A Recess Occupy The Back Of The Chamber. Generous dishes, good food and taste beer

We got to the Cave bar after a long journey walking in the amazing city of Petra. It is located just next to the main entrance to the city. You can see it right from the entrance. The cave bar is the oldest bar in the world. The food you get there is quite delicious, generous and really not very expensive considering where you are getting it. in my opinion, one dish is enough for two people unless you are really hungry. The waiters make their best to serve you well and in time. But sometimes they got too many people to serve and it can be a bit slow to get your order taken They also have live music.

Great Ambiance - 2 minutes from Petra gate to a drink in your hand

Location cannot be beat - the seating area is less than 50 meters from the gate. It took about two minutes to find a cushioned rock niche and a waiting server to get my first drink and a copy of the menu. Drinks are well made and generous. Drink menu had a wide selection and drinks were reasonably priced. Menu was a good selection of bar food to include burgers, wraps, hot/ cold Mezzeh and several regional dishes. I sat outside the three times I visited, but inside was gorgeous with an area of carved niches with individual tables - would be great for date night! I WILL be coming here again next time I am in Petra.

Horrendous Experience

This was the worst dining experience we have ever had. We came back from Petra in the afternoon for a drink, we were initially pleased with the service and decided to come back for diner. Reading up the reviews I realized that there was an happy hour that we were not made aware of. Our waiter graciously offered my wife another glass of wine in exchange for a good review on Trip Advisor. Turned out the glass of wine was probably on their happy hour. For dinner, we had basically no service. We had to catch the attention of waiters every single time, from getting their menu to ordering drinks and food. We ordered two beef fillet steak only to received one fillet and flank steak. At that point I already asked for the manager who then apologized for the absolute lack of service and returned my plate to offer me their best beef fillet steak. They obviously rushed the kitchen and my steak was raw inside. Also, I didn’t appreciate that I didn’t receive what was specified on the menu and if I didn’t know the difference between a flank and a fillet, it would have gone unnoticed. The manager tried to make things better by offering us an additional round of drinks and took 20% off our bill but at this point there was coming back. The restaurant was clearly understaffed and shouldn’t have accepted additional patrons that they could not accommodate.

Cool spot for a drink but the food is not good. Why try to make American food? We came to Jordan to try Jordanian food. If we want good American food, we'll eat it in America. Also. They make the waiters ask everyone to leave reviews on here. They ask you to pull out your phone and do it while you're sitting there. It's obnoxious and I don't want to be writing reviews when I'm trying to enjoy my drink. All the waiters are nice and fun, they shouldn't be graded based on reviews. Come here for a good view and a beer. It's good for that.

What a treat to be dinning at the oldest bar in the world!!!

This place is magical place to be dinning at. An original Nabatean Tomb fronted with a large "Piazza" surrounded by original carved Nabatean stonework. This blue-lit Petra hotpot has been known to stay open until 4 am on busy summer nights.

Great after a long day of walking

Visited twice over the last two days. Service was really good. The first time we visited, it was close to closing, however they kept the kitchen open so we could have something to eat after an extremely long day . Second time, they were quite prompt with providing us cold drinks and internet access so we could work a bit. Zaid made sure that we were placed in a quite space and had everything we needed.

A must after exiting Petra

The great location is only topped by an excellent service and atmosphere. With reasonable prices and a wide range of drinks (including alcoholic ones which are a rarity for the area) The Cave makes for an ideal stop. Our server, Zeyad, was super attentive and took great care of us, going above and beyond to make our dinner the best we could have had. Definitely made our night better and made us want to go back even more. Totally recommended

Cool atmosphere & friendly service

After the long hike into and out of Petra, my husband and I stopped into the cave bar for rest and refreshments. It was very chic inside with many cozy niches. I was initially worried it would be expensive, but was pleased to find it reasonably priced and the service warm and welcoming.

Staying one night at the petra guest house, so visited the on site restaurant cave bar All of the staff were helpful and professional. Zayed was very patient with our table and 3 kids. Zayed was so happy and helpful. Thankyou for the great experience!

Highly recommend this place for its absolute chilled and relaxing vibe, and a perfect place to unwind after an adventurous long day at the Petra Visitor Centre. Great locstion, easily accessible and the best part is the host (name - Odai) who’ll make you feel special and at home with genuine recommendations on food and drink options to diit your mood and taste. I also love the ambience set in a natural stone cave and its just brings a whole lot of authenticity to the place. Definitely worth a visit (or more) if you are visiting Petra, Jordan :)) #lovedthecavebar

We were attended by Zyead on our visit to cave bar. He was really friendly and made us have a great experience. The food was really nice. He also gave us a complimentary dessert and it was the best Arabic sweet I have ever had in my life. Amazing location, great ambiance and calm music.

Excellent juice and Shisha

My husband and I had a date night at the Cave Bar and had an excellent experience! The lemon mint juice was particularly tasty and the staff was friendly and attentive. The place was very safe- we had our temperature checked at the gate and everyone was wearing masks. The ambience was what really made the place exciting, how cool is it to hang out in an ancient Nabatean cave?!

Great bar with great service

Knowing cave bar was right out the entrance was just that little bit of extra encouragement we needed to haul ourselve back up that hill after a long day at Petra. Beer's were reasonably priced and the service staff were very attentive and friendly as well. Zead was particularly great, really sorted us out! Much thanks from the UK

The environment is easily the best thing about the cave bar. Service is a close second with attentive and helpful waiters. The food selection is a bit too international if you seek local options but the food is tasty and portions are decent.
