I went to check in at my Hotel (Peace Way) and there was no electricity in the area (Wadi Musa). So I decided to go to this restaurant to eat and wait for the power to come back on. When I got there, I was greeted by Mohammed (I think he’s the chef or manager). I asked for the menu and received immediately. I asked if there was WiFi and they said no because there was no power but Mohammed gave me his phone to hotspot which was ABOVE AND BEYOND my expectation. Next, the food came (falafel, fries, salad) and it was delicious. The staff were so friendly. When it was time to leave they gave me a complimentary dessert & mint tea. I didn’t have the dessert because I’m vegan and it had eggs and milk but I appreciated it. when the bill came I offered a JOD 10 tip and I was quite shocked when the server (I think his name was Abdallah) said it was too much. he actually wanted to negotiate a lower tip. I couldn’t believe it. He had to call his Manager to ask whether he could accept the tip. I think that’s very sweet & kind that the staff also think about the customers wallet! I never saw that in my life! I was meant to go for dinner but I got busy exploring but for sure I will be back to this restaurant in future when I’m in Petra.
Amazing staff, good food. Thanks so much ALL STAFF (Especially Abdalla and Mohammed) for your wonderful hospitality. If you ever want to go for lunch/dinner please don’t hesitate to go there!

Visited as part of a large group following a hard days exploring in Petra. The menu was explained to us in detail on arrival and suggestions were made to help the group experience a wide variety of local dishes.
The food was very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced.
The restaurant was within a 5 minute walk of our hotel (The Seven Wonders)

This restaurant was a heaven for us to relax at and take our time dining. The outdoor area had a small fire heater in March and was very cozy. We went for dinner here for the three nights we had in Petra and we loved it. I had hummus at every restaurant I ate at in Jordan and this Zawaya had the best. I still crave it now that I am back in Canada! The mouttabal and fattoush salad are great as well and their lemon mint drink is amazing! Warm pita is also served. To top it all off, tea and a delicious coconut cake is served complimentary after the meal. The service was impeccable and I would love to return here one day! Thank you Zawaya for an excellent three nights!

Excellent home cooked local food was well enjoyed here. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the kufta was cooked perfectly in a rich tomato sauce. The mint tea was also flavourful and to top it all off it was value for money. Would highly recommend.

We visited late at 10pm. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We ordered four different mains plus two starters. Literally everything was excellent. And the portions were so big that we struggles to finish…and yet when the waiter saw how much I enjoyed my meal, he offered to bring me more free of charge.
Cost us 8-10 JD per head including starters and freshly squeezed fruit juices. It was worth every penny.

A quiet restaurant away from the busier down town Wadi Musa offering delicious local cuisine with warm service and very reasonable prices. My wife and I had the Lemon, mint and pineapple smoothie which was freshly juiced and blended and provided a beautifully refreshing and balanced taste and the Vegetarian Sawamy (requested a spicy version) which was full of flavour and zest. Would highly recommend a dinner here, especially if you're after a quite and peaceful mood.

One of the better restaurants in Wadi Musa with good Jordanian food and generous portions at a reasonable price. Very friendly staff. They provided us dessert free of charge following our meal and even provided us a second serving to take home once we told them how much we liked it!

Zawaya restaurant was a real treat. The waiters understand excellent service ! They brought us free hummus and fatuush salad in the beginning. Apparently they had just re-opened after over a year lock down due to Covid, and we’re very happy to serve us. I had the traditional mansaf meal and my girlfriend had kafta. We finished our meals very full and content and we’re then served tea with mint. A perfect lunch!

I went here with my parents because I read some good reviews online and it exceeded our expectations. We were welcomed very nicely from the start and the staff did an amazing job to help define portion sizes and recommendations. We ordered lentil soups, mixed grill platter, and kufta and all of these were very delicious. There was also complimentary salad, delightful basbousa, and tea at the end. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes to eat good food and great people!

We are vegetarian and we were recommended to visit this restaurant for dinner. After a long walk in Petra we reached this restaurant early and we were warmly welcomed by (big man ) Mohammad who introduced us to some fine vegetarian food. The food was served in style with outstanding hospitality and a big smile. Food was delicious, service is warm and the overall experience says ‘ I come again’.
Thank you

Enjoyed a very lovely meal here, staff were very attentive, one of the workers called Baha was very helpful with ordering. The place was very warm and welcoming with lovely music in the background and it was also nice and clean. Very happy with this place would highly recommend a visit if going to Jordan.

We came here for early dinner and almost ordered the whole menu. Hummus is one of best I have ever eaten and all meats and vegetables are fresh. My wife has ordered Maqlubah and what a juicy and delicious chicken was that. If you would like to eat lamb meat, you should try Zawaya Sajeya. Thanks to the chef for everything and thank you to Mohammad for all the recommendations and a great company. We will have 2 more days in Petra and definitely come here tomorrow and the day after.

I can’t say enough about Zawaya. The owner Mohammed was so warm and welcoming and helped us pick our authentic meals. My wife is vegetarian and he had no problem recommending a delicious dish. I had lamb with rice, and a lemony, thin yogurt sauce which Mohammed showed me how to scoop up with my hands in the pita bread. It was the best lamb I’ve ever had. He added a lentil soup which was on the house. And on top of all that we ate outside and it was a bit chilly so he kindly offered my wife and myself a full length heavy coat. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to food at Zawaya.
