Saturday night DJ and grinding ear splitting music wasn’t what we anticipated but we decided to stay. Pizza and spaghetti took over an hour to arrive. spaghetti carbonara was almost cold and best described as a mas of tasteless slop. Waiter was friendly!
Food not good ,not tasty,half cooked.we usually visit the Indian restaurant for lunch or dinner but this time we thought of trying this place....first of all most of the items were not available and the options from which we had to choose was really not...good....I dnt know it was that particular day the food was not good or is it alwaz as I am not going there ever.More
There are not that many places open in Maun for dinner but we were lucky to come across Il Pomodoro. After spending 10 days roadtripping in Italy prior, we thought to try out the pizza from somewhere in Botswana. It was such a treat that...we went back again two nights later. My husband ordered pizza both nights and I ordered pizza the first night and then a delicious pasta the second - the pasta was extremely oily, i had a puddle of it in the bottom of the bowl, but otherwise it was all very tasty and well made. I had a few cocktails and they were good too. Our waiter the first night was a professional gentleman who had exceptional hosting manners and was very attentive. Only thing I could fault is that the tv was on so loud that we could not hear each other speak one of the nights and the other the lights were off in the evening for a long time until someone remembered to put them on. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Even after our travels in Italy, this Italian food was second to only two places we ate in Italy. Only thing we were missing and sad not to see on the menu is Spritz.More
it looks like a great place, but as soon as you enter, there is no one to welcome you, no one to offer you a seat inside, outside or on the patio. the place is short staffed, it takes a while to get service. However...the food i had, which was the T bone, was juicy and really big, worth it.More

Decided to go and have a pizza a few nights ago and was shocked as how the place was run down and poorly managed. Service was terrible and very poor. Our order was not completed properly even though the waiter wrote down the order and...the mangager confirmed the order was still incorrect. The restaurant was not even busy! The attitude of the staff was horrible, and when I started questioning the incorrect order they became very arrogant. They are also very overpriced on most things especially drinks. Won't see me again in a long time.More

I enjoyed a pasta with a salad in the outdoor patio. Very pleasant, friendly staff. Would definitely return.
Short staffed no one to clean out tables sewage spillage , so the whole restaurant smells like a toilet(smells really bad) service is very slow toilets never have water

All three of us got pizza and all 3 of us loved it! This was a great spot to sit outside and enjoy beers and pizza at sunset. Service was wonderfully friendly - our ride was late picking us up and one of the staff...offered to help us figure out an alternative. Would definitely come back!More
Our last evening in Maun and our choice for early Dinner fell to this very nice restaurant. My friend had a wonderful pizza and I did chose the top T-Bone with a big Salad.....outstanding!!!
Limited menu which is always a good sign, it is always better to make a few good things. We had a bruschetta with a lot of garlic, a greek salad which was not very greekish, well prepare, tasteful pastas and the only available dessert, icecream!
Chill environment lovely food a must to go if you like pizza and you’re in Maun. We would recommend this place 🙏
Il Pomodoro is easily accessible and it has a great outdoor space, friendly atmosphere, and most importantly delicious Italian food and pizzas and the best locally sourced ice cream ever. Thank you Anto, Daniele, and friends for hospitality and making Botswana unforgettable.
we visited Il pomodoro several times while staying in Maun and it never disappointed. The atmosphere is great, relaxed and informal, while the food is up to par with the best restaurants in Italy and abroad. The main dishes are well cooked, varied and presented...in a very pleasant way, gelato is simply fantastic and I rarely had better, even in Italy. Pizza is cooked in a traditional wood oven and delicious. The service is friendly and welcoming, drinks are generous, Antonella and Daniele are the best guests. And on Fridays they have DJ nights! If you are in Maun, even for few hours, Il pomodoro is definitely worth a visit. Also very handy, a few minute drive from the airport. I cannot wait to eat there again!More
