Despite healthy competition in MH there is nowhere quite like Ascoughs. My wife and I eat there at least once a month and have never had a bad meal. We look forward to the monthly menu changes and whether it's a lazy lunch or evening...celebration it is always brilliant. This month the stars of the show were the desserts. Really tasty and beautifully presented. Not long to wait for next month.More

Outstanding food, service and value for money. 3 of our 11 party were unavoidably delayed. Head Waiter handled it with coolness, courtesy and professionalism.

Ascoughs gets lots of good reviews and locally people are always very positive about it. I hadn’t been for several years as I wasn’t impressed the couple of times I had been, but we gave it another go recently. The food is good, we all...had the steak for our main and they were cooked perfectly, although the peppercorn sauce was over salted and not particularly peppery. I had the honey scotch pancake starter and it just felt a bit confused, there was too much going on so it didn’t hang together well as a dish. I would say it is worth a visit, the staff are lovely and it is good everyday food, but it’s lacking something and ultimately just a bit generic.More

I love Ascough’s. It’s such a pleasant environment with really friendly staff and is great value for money. Recently the number of Vegan options has decreased so there’s limited choice if you’re eating an exclusively plant-based diet. Disappointing really given that many other places are...expanding their menu to cater for this fastest growing sector. However, I will add that my (non-vegan) family were all totally envious of my sticky toffee pudding which was heavenly! We were there celebrating GCSE and A-level results. The waiter picked up on this and brought out two complementary plates with a chocolate and congratulations written in caramel sauce. Such a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. We will definitely be returning but I’d love for there to be more vegan options next time.More

Have visited on a number of occasions recently the last to celebrate my sisters birthday. Always excellent food and very efficient and friendly service. Deserves to be number 1 in Harborough. The fact that you have to book well in advance tells its own story...with so many regular customers.More

Fantastic food, service and wine - it’s no wonder why they are always booked up. The best place to eat in Market Harborough by far all the dishes were delicious with excellent attention to detail. We will be going back!

On a recent visit to Ascough's I was very reassured to find the staff still respectfully wearing masks, a thoughtful touch when so many places don't bother anymore. This month's menu is inspiring, a fabulous array of seasonal dishes all with a hint of Ascough's...magic. I picked scallops - delicious! Followed by cheese souffle - so delicate & light. I received the most attentive & friendly service, the team here have the gift of making you feel relaxed & very welcome. Lunch was joy on a plate, can't wait until my next visit.More

I am sure they are. But it's not for babies. The food doesn't suit all children, it is rich and heavy. Great venture, great food.
