Very pleasant eating experience

Booked by a local friend we had the choice of two set menus that could be mixed if wished. Plenty of choice and food with a few things not normally on standard menus, served in good time by friendly staff. Reasonably priced for what was a very tasty meal. I’d recommend

Big fail by not having enough staff.

Top class restaurant and food was absolutely delicious as always. Our problem was there was too much delay between courses. Staff were doing their best and run off their feet. It took almost 2 and a half hours for 2 courses We waited 20 minutes to pay. I also saw that we weren't the only patrons complaining about the delays. Management need to get their finger out and employ more staff. Everything else was fabulous and I would definitely recommend Dominics especially if you have lots of time to wait for fab food.

Met all expectations and more.

Bruschetta and Pork slices to start followed by the beef ribs and beef lasagne and all were well presented. The flavours and the food presentation were excellent. The staff are professional and pleasant and present a very good service. Decor is very attractive and make for a very comfortable visit. Highly recommended

We booked our table for 6pm and we're told we could only have table till 8.15 which we said was fine, we arrived at restaurant early but there was a queue while the staff scanned the covid certs. We were seated at 6.20 we were not asked for our order till 7pm . Our food was delicious but unfortunately slow in being served, then 2 of the staff members came and asked us to leave as they needed the table , According to them regardless how slow they were at seating us and serving us we were only getting the table for 2 hours as the waitress said she was not bothered if we had eaten or not the table was 2 hours only, they told us we were causing trouble because we disputed being thrown out , we had spent 270 euro 😡 . Food was excellent but attitude from staff disappointing

My wife and I along with some friends, had dinner there last night for the first time since the pandemic started. Most of the people had the rack of lamb and they were all happy with it. I had the the tuna steak and I found it very salty.It was served to me in a bowl instead of a plate which I found a little strange. They gave us some bread before our meal but no plates. During the meal we asked for another bottle of wine and they forgot to give it to us until we had finished our meal. They never offered us a dessert menu.Due to the covid it was not very busy but we found the service to be very poor.

Disappointing

Myself and extended family gathered for a celebratory meal on Saturday. Table was booked weeks in advance for 26 people for 8pm. We arrive just before 8pm and we're left standing at reception for 15 to 20 minutes. As we we're a large group, this meant we we're very close to tables who were eating, trying to enjoy their food. We eventually sat down, we didn't get to order drinks until after 9pm and food order's 21:20. 90% of the table had finished their main by the time I received mine at 22:30. I understand it's a lot of food to service at one time but it would have been manners to inform me of the delay. When we went to pay, the manager advised that she would not spilt the orders, drinks or supplements. Which meant each person owed €41 (including a child who had ordered garlic bread, chicken nuggets and chips) She was extremely rude, demanding cash, refusing to take more than 6 card payments. After working in the service industry for many years, it's common to split a large table into sections for payments reasons or charge the drinks separately at least. We ended up being over charged in the end and the manager refused to discuss it. The food was nice and other waitresses we're polite and friendly all evening. However, we all felt the manager's behaviour was unprofessional, unacceptable and extremely disappointing. We have dined at this restaurant since it opened and it will be the last time unfortunately. There are other restaurants in Mullingar with food just as good and much better service.

We are very sorry for how you feel , we had your booking at 8:15pm and when we seen you arrive earlier we tried as fast as we could to prepare the tables for you, unfortunately we are a small restaurant and if a large group arrive there isn't much space around the waiting area. We tried to prepare everything as fast as we could and we didn't want to leave you waiting outside of the restaurant because the weather is very cold in the evening. We are extremely sorry about your experience and we are looking into all aspects to improve it all.

Very unprofessional behaviour

We would not recommend Dominiks restaurants to anyone after how a group of 24 were dining to celebrate a 25th wedding anniversary and Birthday. The night started off great , we had been served delicious food on the night but when it came to the end for the bill to be paid we were told they only could except 6 card payments on a group of 24. I never heard such nonsense in my life. As a legal tender in Ireland Dominiks still refused to process anymore then 6 , which left everyone very frustrated 😩 having to leave and head to the nearest cash machine to pay by cash at the request of management. Had we been told this when booking 2 months prior we would have told everyone. Management tried to call out the person who booked it a liar and say she did advise us of their payment request for the night which they DID NOT . Also because of payment request the bill had to be spilt 24 ways meaning people that had the set menu of €30.90 and had no alcohol still ended up paying €42 which at one stage they tried charging a 6 year old €15 kids meal also €42 which made people extremely annoyed The management acted very unprofessional and her attitude was unacceptable, she argued with the customers with some been elderly and on crutches and at one stage, she started to cry and say she didn’t know how much money she had as she was taking from the tip jar till and cash she had in her hand and on the counter. We were told at one stage 5 people hadn’t paid which was completely inaccurate as I know of 2 people that had already paid themselves that I had also paid for , so as explained to the lady she was definitely overpaid by at least 2 people to which she replied “ I do not understand “ All 24 people that dined with us that night were honest hardworking people who wanted to pay for what they had to eat and drink To say it was an eventful night is an understatement as something that was supposed to be a night to remember turned out to be a night to remember for not the right reasons. We will not dine in Dominiks restaurant again

Very disappointing

We booked a table for St Patrick's Day for 24 of us that took part in the parade. Unfortunately the restaurant could not cope with the orders. There was a delay of 1 to 1 .5 hrs between courses. Many of the group had to leave without a main course due to the delays. The kitchen could not cope with large orders of pizzas as they said they only had one oven. This was a very disappointing experience.

Fabulous night with delicious food!

Had a fantastic meal out with friends here in Dominiks on 11 December. Gabriella and her team are amazing - their attention to detail, professionalism and friendliness adds to the relaxed ambience of Dominik's! There was a choice of two menus from which we could mix and match. Each member of our group enjoyed a delicious meal followed by cocktails and plenty of chat! Cannot recommend highly enough, a gem here in Mullingar.

Always welcoming and reliably tasty!

We have been going to Dominiks over the years but I have never taken the time to write a review. Credit where credit is due , the service is always professional and friendly, food is delicious and also very good value. My 6 year old absolutely loves the chefs pasta. I can highly recommend the brie followed by the confit duck! Whichever dishes you choose they won’t disappoint. We will return again soon. Looking forward to trying the Christmas menu. Keep up the good work Dominiks. A gem in Mullingar where a lot of alternatives are overpriced and underwhelming.

Real gem in Mullingar

It was a joy to have a dinner at this small, well established restaurant in Mullingar. The food is so delicious and very well presented. The waiting staff is professionally mannered trying to make your evening special. We will definitely recommend the restaurant to our friends!

Visited Dominik's on a wet Tuesday evening but were welcome warmly by Gabriella. The food is topnotch and all of us were more than happy with the food (8 in total). Served by both Gabriella and her colleague, Lennie. Service with a smile. Excellent value too. What's not to like?

Just passin tru

I got a take away here (tiger prawn spaghetti and garlic bread) and can i just say one word about the experience..... OUTSTANDING. It was just delicious. And so well presented. I will be passing tru again soon no matter how far out of my way i have to go.

Good food and service but turn on the heat !

The food and the service cannot be faulted but the place is freezing .A friend had warned me about this so I wore warm clothes . We had to move nearer the back after our starter as we were both feeling the cold every time the door opened. It was such a shame as everything else was fine . I just cannot forget the cold

An amazing restaurant which always exceeds expectations!

5 of us ladies went for our Christmas night out, and Dominick's is the perfect restaurant for incredible food, service and atmosphere. We sat in the circular booth which is so conducive for conversations! Food was absolutely delicious with 2 incredible menus to choose from. The relaxed ambience of Dominick's makes it such a popular restaurant for its guests. Staff are friendly, professional and very polite. Cannot recommend highly enough, you will not be disappointed.
